AVIATIONEU NEW ERA Dyes &...

Dyes and Pigments represent the two principal types of colorants widely used in industrial and consumer products. They impart color through different methods.

The main difference between the two is that dyes/dyestuffs provide their color by attaching to a substrate, or by dissolving in a solvent like water, alcohol, or oil, through which the dye becomes part of the material chemical solution. Pigments provide color without any required interaction with another substance. Pigments are insoluble powders that exist as suspended particles in a binder. Other differences include their application mechanism, the typically transparent appearance of dyes versus opacity of pigments, their durability (fastness) with pigments being generally more fade-resistant and chemically stable than less resistant to fading and washing dyes, but also the field of application with solvent dyes (specifically oil-soluble) and water-soluble dyes dyes commonly used on fuels (petrol, oil), lubricants, greases, candles, plastics (PS, ABS, PC), textiles, food, leather, hair color, wood stains, or varnishes while pigments on paints (acrylic, oil), inks for inkjet printers, plastics, cosmetics, and printing.

Solvent dyes (specifically oil-soluble) are non-ionic organic compounds dissolving in oils, hydrocarbon solvents, waxes, and fats. Widely used in fuels (petrol, oil) for regulatory purposes but also on lubricants, greases, plastics for distinguishing brands, conformance to precise specifications set by OEMs, etc. They are resistant to water and ideal for non-polar, transparent, or oily substrates. Water-soluble dyes dissolve in water and alcohols providing intense, deep colors to hydrophilic materials, and are commonly encountered in  textiles, paper, hair coloring, cosmetics, and food coloring.

Sourced from quality producers, liquid and powder solvent dyes are now offered as part of AVIATIONEU NEW ERA product lines in different packaging options. Our oil and water soluble dyes are intended for use as cost effective solutions for numerous applications instead of competitive brands. In general, liquid dyes are supplied ready to use  (without prior pre-dissolving need) and consist a preferred choice for quick, even coloring whereas our powder dyes are often selected for their higher concentration, longer shelf life for storage, dry mixing or transport convenience (non-hazmat regulated).

Thermocouple and thermocouple extension wires are flexible, insulated wires the first used to link a thermocouple to a temperature control device or make the sensing point (or probe) of the thermocouple while the second to extend a thermocouple signal from a probe back to the measuring instrument reading the signal over long distances.

There are different types of thermocouples conctructed from 2 conductor solid core thermocouple grade specified gauge insulated wires with a positive and negative lead and an insulated outer jacket. Types N, K, E, J, T are base metal thermocouple wires  mostly used while Types S, R and B are precious metal thermocouple wires. Common Thermocouple Wire Types are outlined below while their more detailed presentation and characteristics are included in the Product Description section.

K-Type thermocouple (nickel-chromium (nickel-silicon - nickel-aluminum). Base metal thermocouple with strong oxidation resistance with a temperature measurement capability from 0 to 1300 °C.  Main disadvantages include among others a high-temperature stability of thermoelectric potential lower than of N-type and precious metal thermocouples and a poor short-term thermal cycle stability in the range of 250-500 °C.

T-Type thermocouple (copper-copper-nickel). It has the highest accuracy and good uniformity among the base metal thermocouples and an operating temperature between -200 and 350 ℃.

J-Type thermocouple (iron-constantan ). Suitable for reducing or inert atmosphere for vacuum oxidation, and the temperature range from -200 to 800 °C.

N-Type thermocouple (NiCrSi-NiSi). Features of the thermocouple are strong anti-oxidation ability in temperature regulation below 1300 °C, good long-term stability and short-term thermal cycle repeatability, good nuclear radiation resistance, and low-temperature resistance.

E-Type thermocouple (nickel-chromium-copper-nickel [constantan] thermocouple). Its thermoelectric potential is the highest among the commonly used thermocouples. Often selected for applications in conditions of high sensitivity, low thermal conductivity, and large resistance that can be tolerated. Less sensitive than Type K to corrosion in atmospheres containing higher humidity.

Thermocouple wires of diferent types and wire sizes (Gauges) are offered as part of own labelled (AVIATIONEU NEW ERA) product lines. Priced and sold by the foot and offered in specified or cut to order lengths (usually in 10 ft increments).

AVIATIONEU NEW ERA RG 58...

United States Military Standard RG58 Coaxial Cables are flexible and lightweight coaxial cable with a solid 20 American Wire Gauge (AWG) conductor, a 50-ohm characteristic impedance and maximum voltage rating of 1,900 volts. They feature a low-density polyethylene dielectric insulation with a dielectric constant of 2.3 and a diameter of 0.116 inches (2.9mm), a tinned copper braided shield and a PVC jacket. The outside diameter of the cable is 0.195' (4.95 mm), which makes it suitable for indoor and vehicular use where size matters. It is best for signal frequencies up to 1GHz, where its attenuation is 14.5 decibels per 100 feet. Above that frequency, attenuation increases, and at 5GHz it is approximately 60 dB/100 ft. RG58 coaxial cable supports 10Base2 Ethernet.

These cables come in different versions (types) corresponding to different conductors including RG58 (pure annealed copper conductor), RG58/U (single solid core copper conductor), RG58A/U (multi-core tinned copper conductor with generally low loss foamed insulation)  or RG58C/U (multi-strand tin-plated copper conductor and polyethylene solid core). RG58 A/U Coaxial Cables with PVC jacket are ones most used in WiFi, Wireless LAN, GSM, and Monitoring and Control of Network Infrastructure Sites. Also they are standard cables for avionics installations in experimental (non-certified) aircraft.

The mil-spec coaxial specification version of RG58 is the M17/28-RG58 Coaxial Cables. These cables are like their standard RG58 counterparts except that they feature a stranded tinned copper conductor and the outer conductor is a 36 AWG tinned copper braid.

AVIATIONEU NEW ERA ISO 3601...

The German DIN 3771 standard refers to all O-rings as sealing elements for fluid technology and identifies O-Ring sizes by their Inner Diameter (ID) &Cross Section (C/S). This standard has essentially been incorporated into the international standard ISO 3601 which sets the globally relevant O-ring dimensions and uniform rules for installation spaces and the properties of the O-rings. It defines metric O-rings according to the same dimension chart as DIN 3771 while it has been extended to include O-rings in imperial dimensions. ISO 3601 also goes beyond the German standard in the area of materials containing material requirements for O-rings that far exceed those of DIN 3771.

Elastomer materials suitable for certain sealing situations are referred to by their abbreviation according to DIN ISO 1629 and include:

Nitrile/Buna-N (NBR), presently the seal industry’s most widely used elastometer, Ethylene-Propylene (EPM/EPDM) used extensively for outdoor, weather-resistant uses and water applications,

Silicone (MQ, PMQ, VMQ, PVMQ) especially resistant to high, dry heat in primarily static applications,

Neoprene® (Chloroprene) (CR) developed as oil-resistant substitute for natural rubber with resistance to ammonia and Freon® and therefore a superior sealing material for the refrigeration industry,

Fluorocarbon compounds (FPM / Viton®) / (Fluorel®) (FKM) combining high-temperature toughness with wide chemical agent compatibility, and

Fluorosilicone (FVMQ) combining the good high and low temperature stability of silicones with the fuel, oil and solvent resistance of fluorocarbons.

ISO 3601 / DIN 3771 standard O-rings are offered as part of our own (AVIATIONEU NEW ERA) product lines. Sourced from quality manufactuurers they are supplied in competitively priced packs in different materials, sizes, and hardnesses as specified by a two-digit Shore A durometer number, ranging from 20 (soft) to 90 (hard), depending on the type of elastomer.

For additional information please consult the Product Description section or contact us.

AVIATIONEU NEW ERA AS3209 /...

Flurocarbon rubber compounds (also known as FPM, FKM, or trade names Viton®, Fluorel®, Technoflon®, Dai-El® ) combine high-temperature toughness with wide chemical agent compatibility,  and feature excellent resistance to petroleum products and solvents and good high-temperature compression set characteristics. The designations FPM, FKM and Viton® very often cause confusion although they all relate to one single base material. FPM is the international abbreviation according to DIN/ISO, FKM is the short form for the fluoroelastomer category according to the American standard ASTM while Viton® is the registered trade mark of DuPont Performance Elastomers.

M83248 series Flurocarbon rubber o-rings feature an extremely high fuel and heat resistance and they ideally suited for aircraft fuel system applications. These o-rings feature a high temperature resistance, excellent resistance to acids, fuels, mineral and vegetable oils and greases, aliphatic, aromatic and chlorinated hydrocarbons, non-flammable hydraulic fluids (HFD) and many organic solvents and chemicals, low swelling in ASTM oil No. 1, and IRM 902 and IRM 903, excellent resistance to aging and ozone as well as low gas permeability and low compression set.

Flurocarbon rubber o-rings are often used in place of those made by Nitrile rubber (NBR) also known as Buna-N, presently the seal industry’s most widely used elastometer. When it comes to selecting Buna (NBR) vs. Flurocarbon (Viton®)  for sealing applications, the selected material should be selected on the basis of the intended application. Viton and Buna are two durable, elastomer materials and they are both commonly used in sealing applications for O-rings and gaskets.

M83248 series Flurocarbon rubber o-rings are offered as part of our own (AVIATIONEU NEW ERA) product lines. Sourced from quality manufactuurers they are supplied in competitively priced packs in different sizes.

For additional information Flurocarbon amd Nitrile/Buna-N materials please consult the Product Description section or contact us.

MS/AMS/SAE Packings,...

Preformed packings are basically a type of O-ring providing effective sealing over wide ranges of pressure, temperature, and movement, with the advantage of sealing pressure in both directions and reducing friction and wear on moving parts. They are used to prevent leaks and improve aircraft performance. The packings are formed prior to shipping and they are supplied ready to use. Compared to form-in-place gaskets, they offer easy installation without sacrifising performance. Typically made of a slightly flexible material that can be compressed to create a better seal.

The selection of a specific O-ring is based on a variety of factors, including fluid media resistance, temperature range, hardness, durability, gland size, static or dynamic application, etc.

An extensive selection of preformed packings to choose from can be supplied as part of OEM brands or sourced from quality manufacturers and offered as part of our own (AVIATIONEU NEW ERA) product lines. Restraint systems are today widely used in aerospace, defense, transportation, automotive, construction and many other industries. Attached to an anchorage device by means of a suitable lanyard they are used as personal protective equipment to prevent persons from falling or safely holding them at a specific position. Safety seatbelts and shoulder harnesses are considered primary restraint systems because of their vital role in their users' safety. Those used on general aviation or civil aircraft include different types such as traditional 2-Point or 3-Point restraints which protect air, flight crews and passengers.3-Point restraints are used on modern automobiles while 4-Point restraints are encountered on racing vechicles.

Current listing includes a range of complete assemblies of safety seatbelts and shoulder harnesses, individual components and their mounting hardware. They are suitable for use in many non-certifed aircraft applications like ultra-lights or experimental aircraft, on cars or trucks, racing vehicles and many other applications. Sourced from quality suppliers they are offered in different materials, types and colors depending on the offered product. Cargo tie-down products are also included in this listing. For certified aircraft restraint systems please refer to our respective listings.

Metal cables are are stranded wires used in a wide variety of applications in aviation and many other industries. The term "wire rope" is also used when the cable diameter is larger than 3/8" (9.52 mm), with smaller gauges designated as cables or cords. They are specified in terms of their construction by the number of strands times the number of wires in each strand. For example, “7x19” means the cable with seven (7) strands, and 19 wires in each strand. 7x19 is the most flexible cable, approximately twice as flexible as its 7x7 counterpart.

Aircraft cables are encountered on or around the aircraft including flight control surfaces and tie-downs or other uses. In contrast to the commercial (industrial use) cables, aircraft  cables undergo extensive testing and are lubricated providing substantially better fatigue life. They conform to MIL-DTL-83420 specification. Sourced by leading manufacturers such as CONTINENTAL CABLE or CENTRAL WIRE Group of Companies (CWI) they are offered with or without coating (jacket) in different constructions, materials (such as galvanized carbon steel or stainless steel), diameters in inches and pre-cut or cut-to-order lengths in feet. Many of the offered aircraft cables are also included in U.S. DoD Qualified Products List (QPL) which relates to products, components, or materials, often used in aerospace or military applications, which have been examined, pre-tested & found to conform with all applicable standards or qualification requirements set by a certifying organization or government entity.

Different flight control cables, general use cable, cable assemblies and related parts from various manufacturers (*) are also offered either as OEM or FAA-PMA approved parts including our own labelled (AVIATIONEU NEW ERA) product lines aircraft and industrial (general use) cables for applications when no compliance to MIL specifications is required. For additional information please consult the Product Description section and the supplied documentation.

(*) OEM aircraft cables & assemblies are offered from TEXTRON AVIATION and are intended for use on Cessna, Beechcraft and Hawker aircraft. FAA-PMA approved aircraft cables and parts are offered from McFARLANE® AVIATION and other manufacturers for use on different aircraft.

Connectors are used on electrical wiring harnesses and are essentially enclosures (i.e., shells) which house contacts with wires. The electrical connection into the system at the contact termination is either a soldered or crimped connection (the latter removable from the connector with the use of a special tool). The shell and insert may be moisture resistant or a hermetic seal. The inserts in each connector must be oriented for correct mating, and the shell or insert usually contains a keying feature to prevent miss-mating that could damage the connector or result in an electrical problem.

Connectors can be of a Plug (“male”) or Receptacle (“female”) type. Receptables are also termed as sockets or jacks. Plugs have prolonged connecting pins which fit into the mating sockets. Receptables have mounting features such as a flange with holes. Connectors used in aircraft are mostly those complying with Military Standards (MIL-STD) and Military Specifications (MIL-SPEC).

Different connectors, structured in series, are offered as part of our own branded (AVIATIONEU NEW ERA) product lines to provide cost-effective solutions for a variety of applications. Sourced by quality suppliers, they are available in plug or receptable types.

AVIATIONEU NEW ERA MIL Standard MS5015 series connectors meet MIL-C-5015 specification.
