AVIATIONEU NEW ERA...

Anchor nuts (aka nutplates or anchor plates) are terms used interchangeably and relate to stamped sheet metal fasteners with an internally threaded tube and a plate with two clearance holes for rivets. They are used in blind mounted panel applications in aerospace and other industrial sectors where hex nuts cannot be used or an attached nut is required for ease of maintenance.

Anchor nuts can be Fixed or Floating, the latter being easier to use due to their built-in nut (threaded hole) able to "float" slightly thus providing a convenient connection point for threaded rods, such as bolts, from the backside. In the case of Fixed anchor nuts, the built-in nut is static (i.e. without the capability to “float”) and the threaded rod must be positioned perfectly over the hole. Self-locking anchor nuts are those with a built-in locking mechanism preventing them from loosening over time from vibrations. They are extensively used in aerospace, automotive, and construction industries.

Depending on their intended application, nutplates conform to different military, aerospace, ISO or other industrial standards such as the German DIN, U.S. (ASME & ASTM, IFI, ANSI), British BS, Japanese JIS and others. They are offered as OEM parts under their respective brands or under our own labelled (AVIATIONEU NEW ERA) product lines intended as cost-effective alternatives to the respective OEM products. Listed in accordance with their standard of compliance, Fixed and Floating nutplates come in different materials (such as steel or CRES & finishes),  in single/double lug configurations and Metric ISO οr Unified thread sizes. There is currently no U.S. Military Standard (MS) specification for Metric nutplates.Depending on the selected product and availability, nutplates can be supplied with a dry film lube specified by the letter "L" in the respective part number. Those with countersunk rivet holes are specified by the letter "K" at the end of the part number.

Sourced from quality manufacturers, AVIATIONEU NEW ERA MS21047 series nutplates are fixed self locking elastic insert 2-lug anchor nuts made of cadmium plated steel with nylon insert and plain rivet holes. They replace those of AN366F series and are available in different Unified thread sizes to meet application requirements and replace respective nut plates. Sold in pieces but also in packs where the specified number of nuts per pack is indicated after the letters "PK" in the product reference number (SKU). Appearing prices are always for the units of measurement used each time. Matching rivets are sold separately.

AVIATIONEU NEW ERA Grade...

Grade 410 is a basic general-purpose hardenable martensitic stainless steel alloy for highly stressed requirements, providing good corrosion resistance. Martensitic stainless steels are fabricated using techniques requiring final heat treatment. These grades are less resistant to corrosion when compared to those of austenitic. Their operating temperatures are often affected by their loss of strength at high temperatures, due to over-tempering and loss of ductility at sub-zero temperatures. Quenching and tempering can harden grade 410 steels while their corrosion resistance can be further enhanced by hardening, tempering and polishing.

410 is a very common grade used in many industries such as aerospace, power generation, and general industry. Generally used for applications requiring mild corrosion, heat resistance and high strength and ductility. Indicative examples include steam / gas turbine blades and buckets, bushings, valve components, fasteners, nuclear reactor control rod mechanisms, petrochemical equipment and machine parts.

Grade 410 round bars/rods are offered as part of AVIATIONEU NEW ERA product lines. Sourced by quality producers, these bars/rods are available in different diameters and pre cut lengths in inches. They meet AMS -QQ-S-763, AMS -5612, AMS -5613, AMS -2303, ASTM -A276, ASTM -A479 specifications. For additional information, please refer to the supplied documentation or contact us.

AVIATIONEU NEW ERA 2024...

AL2024 is an aluminium alloy, with copper as the primary alloying element. It is used in aircraft structural and other applications requiring high strength to weight ratio, as well as good fatigue resistance, weldablility and average machinability. This alloy  comes in  Annealed (O) condition  or different tempers and is readily formed and machined to a high finish in the annealed condition. It can be both hot and cold worked or forged, as well as welded through inert gas consumable electrode arc methods.

AL2024 extruded angles are produced by forcing a heated alumnium billet through a die of the proper shape by means of a hydraulic press.

Sourced from quality producers they are offered in T3 or T3511 tempers but also in other tempers as part of our own branded (AVIATIONEU NEW ERA) product lines. The applicable temper is indicated in the product reference number (SKU).

Both 2024-T3 aluminum and 2024-T3511 aluminum are variants of the same material. They share alloy composition and many physical properties, but develop different mechanical properties as a result of different processing (please refer to the respective property tables).

These angles are offered in different widths, heights  and thicknesses in inches and cut to order lengths in feet. Appearing sale price is per foot. If manufacturing test reports are required, additional charges are applied per order. For additional information, please refer to our attached Brief Guide on Aluminum Grades & Temper Designations or contact us for price on any unlisted size.

Note: AVIATIONEU NEW ERA metals are supplied free from oil stains, dents, inclusions, scratches, oxide discolorations, corrosion, or other defects. In certain cases, metals are additionally protected with PVC film.

AVIATIONEU NEW ERA 2024...

The 2024 aluminum alloy (with copper as the primary alloying element) is also known as aerospace grade aluminum. It is commonly used in aircraft structural applications due to its high strength and fatigue resistance and those requiring high stress & strain resistance in aviation and industrial applications. This alloy is stronger but less versatile than 6061, which is more corrosion resistant, easier to weld, and more suited to machining, but less strong than the 7075.

2024 aluminum alloy sheets/plates are offered as Annealed (O Temper, without heat treatment ) or Heat Treated in different tempers to attain their maximum strength, including the current listed T3 or others (such as T4,T5,T6 and T651) separately listed.

2024 T3 Alloy Aluminum sheets/plates are offered as part of AVIATIONEU NEW ERA product lines for a wide range of uses including aerospace, clock parts, computer parts, hydraulic parts, bolts, valves, nuts, pistons and gears. Sourced from quality producers, they are offered in different thicknesses & standard stocked or cut-to-order widths and lengths in inches. They can be furnished in different finishes, Untreated (Bare), Anodized or CLAD (sometimes referred to as ALCLAD) for improved corrosion resistance.

Anodization makes aluminum stronger, longer-lasting, and more durable in a wider variety of environments and applications. The surface becomes three times as hard as untreated aluminum, with increased resistance to abrasion, corrosion, and physical impact damage. CLAD sheets/plates are formed from high-purity aluminum surface layers metallurgically bonded to the aluminum alloy core material providing improved protection against fracture, fatigue crack growth & improved corrosion resistance.

Depending on the selected product & manufacturer they comply with US SAE AMS, ASTM specifications or other standards.

AVIATIONEU NEW ERA 2024 T3 Alloy Aluminum sheets/plates are sold in pieces or in bulk with US or Metric Ton (as specified) as the unit of sale. Transport to customer destination can be arranged at additional cost. Small quantities are usually shipped by air transport while for bulk quantities sea/sea-surface transport is used. Minimum Order Quantities (MOQ) depend on the required product. Approximate time for shipping is usually 1-2 months from the time of order placement and payment receipt, depending on the ordered quantity. Appearing prices are indicative per unit of sale.  Prices and availability are subject to confirmation with our co-operating suppliers before order confirmation.

AVIATIONEU NEW ERA 2024...

The 2024 aluminum alloy (with copper as the primary alloying element) is often referred to as aerospace grade aluminum due to its common use in aircraft structural applications requiring high strength and fatigue resistance. This alloy is stronger but less versatile than 6061, which is more corrosion resistant, easier to weld, and more suited to machining, but less strong than the 7075, also used in the aerospace industry.

2024 aluminum alloy sheets are offered as part of AVIATIONEU NEW ERA product lines. They come as Annealed (O Temper) without heat treatment or heat treated in various tempers (such as T3,T4,T5,T6 or T651) to attain their maximum strength (*). They can be supplied in different finishes (Untreated (Bare), Anodized or CLAD (referred to as ALCLAD). Anodization makes aluminum stronger, longer-lasting, and more durable in a wider variety of environments and applications. The surface becomes three times as hard as untreated aluminum, with increased resistance to abrasion, corrosion, and physical impact damage. CLAD sheets/plates are formed from high-purity aluminum surface layers metallurgically bonded to the aluminum alloy core material providing improved protection against fracture, fatigue crack growth & corrosion resistance.

Sourced from quality producers, AVIATIONEU NEW ERA 2024 aluminum sheets/plates can be supplied in pieces (see separate presentations) or in bulk in US or Metric Tons, consisting a cost effective solution when large quantities are demanded. Depending on the selected product & manufacturer they comply with different standards.

They are available in an extensive range of stocked thicknesses & standard or cut-to-order widths and lengths in inch or metric systems. If not in stock, approximate lead time for shipping is usually 1-2 months from the time of order placement, depending on the ordered quantity. Offered prices depend on selected products and quantities.  Prices and availability are subject to confirmation with our co-operating suppliers before order placement. Minimum Order Quantities (MOQ) depend on the required product.

Transport to customer destination can be arranged at additional cost. Small quantities are usually shipped by air transport while for bulk quantities sea/sea-surface transport is used.

All AVIATIONEU NEW ERA  metals are supplied free from oil stains, dents, inclusions, scratches, oxide discolorations, corrosion, or other defects, with PVC film cover, one/two side(s), depending on the producer & properly packaged for protection during the shipment.

Notes

(*) All aluminum alloys, regardless of product form, are classified as either heat-treatable or non heat-treatable, depending upon the method used to attain their maximum strength. The modification methods applied to heat- and non heat-treatable alloys are listed in our attached Brief Guide on Aluminum Grades & Temper Designations.

AVIATIONEU NEW ERA 2024...

One of the most versatile metals in manufacturing today is Aluminum used to produce products in an almost limitless number of shapes for an almost limitless number of uses.

AL2024, the so-called aircraft aluminum, is an aluminium alloy, with copper as the primary alloying element. It is used in applications requiring high strength to weight ratio, as well as good fatigue resistance, weldablility and average machinability. The addition of copper to this alloy makes 2024 one of the strongest aluminum alloys. It comes in different tempers (O without heat treatment or T with heat treatment). It is non-magnetic and heat treatable but it also is more succeptible to corrosion than most other aluminum alloys.

Due to the poor corrosion resistance of this alloy  it is often clad (specified as CLAD or ALCLAD) in which case high-purity aluminium surface layers are metallurgically bonded to the aluminium alloy core material. 2024-T3 is typically used in structures where a high strength to weight ratio is necessary, clock parts, computer parts, hydraulic parts, bolts, valves, nuts, pistons, and gears.

Aluminum 2024 tubes/pipes are offered as part of our own branded (AVIATIONEU NEW ERA) product lines.Tubes are designed to act as structural support, whereas pipes are designed to carry liquids and gases. AL2024 tubing comes in different shapes (round, square, orthogonal and others), tempers, dimensions and pre cut or cut to order lenght options with the ability to be heat treated for even higher strength, all at an affordable price.

Two of the most commonly used processes for shaping aluminum include the extrusion and the drawing process. In the drawn aluminum tubing process the aluminum is pulled, or drawn into the die cavity, during which it undergoes what is called plastic deformation where the aluminum is stretched to achieve the desired shape. Drawn aluminum is most often used to create products including pots, cans, tubes and other circular objects. In the extrusion tubing process the formed shape is achived by first heating the aluminum to a very high temperature until it is soft and malleable but not liquid. Then it is forced or pushed through a die which enables molding and shaping of the desired final product. After extrusion, the finished extruded tubing product  begins to cool and harden becoming strong and durable and holding the desired shape.

The AVIATIONEU NEW ERA Aluminum alloy round tubes 2024 T3 temper are frequently used for aerospace as they offer an excellent strength-to-weight ratio, high fatigue resistance, and average machinability. They are offered as drawn and are available in different outer diameters, wall thicknesses and pre cut lengths in inches. Depending on the producer they meet AMS -4088, AMS -WW-T-700/3 and ASTM B210 specifications. AVIATIONEU NEW ERA 2024...

The AL2024 aluminum alloy (with copper as the primary alloying element) also known as aerospace grade aluminum, is commonly used in aircraft structural applications due to its high strength and fatigue resistance.  It is suitable for applications requiring high stress and strain resistance. The AL2024 aluminum alloy is stronger but less versatile than AL6061 alloy, which is more corrosion resistant, easier to weld, and more suited to machining, but less strong than the AL7075 alloy.

AL2024 aluminum alloy sheets come as Annealed (O Temper) without heat treatment or as heat treated to attain their maximum strength. Heat treated sheets are available in vatious T tempers (such as T3,T4,T5,T6 and T651) for use in a range of aviation and industrial applications.

2024-O CLAD (ALCLAD) Aluminum alloy sheets(*) are offered as part of AVIATIONEU NEW ERA product lines and they consist an excellent choice when high corrosion resistance is needed. Sourced from quality producers, these sheets  are readily formed in the annealed condition and may be subsequently heat treated. They feature good machinability and can be machined to a high finish. They are offered in different thicknesses and specific widths and lengths in inches. They comply with AMS and ASTM specifications.

(*) ALCLAD is a corrosion-resistant aluminium sheet formed from high-purity aluminium surface layers metallurgically bonded (rolled onto) to high-strength aluminium alloy core material. As an enhanced sheet for fuselage applications, ALCLAD offers improved fracture toughness and fatigue crack growth while maintaining the strength characteristics of the alloy. ALCLAD also offers improved fracture toughness and fatigue crack growth while maintaining the strength characteristics of the alloy.
