BECKER JTSO/TSO Certified RA3502 Remote ADF Receiver System SKU: BCKR-ADF-RA3502
Highly reliable and field-proven, the ADF 3500 direction finding systems by BECKER AVIONICS are trusted by the most reputed aircraft manufacturers. Suited for rotary and fixed wing applications, the ADF 3500 can be operated either in a standalone fashion or within EFIS, FMS or integrated flight deck systems.
The ADF 3502-() Receiver is designed for professional applications in the frequency range 190.0 kHz to 1799.5 kHz. The system is ideally suited for installations where minimum space is available. The small, lightweight control unit CU 5502 fits into a standard 2 ¼” (57mm) round instrument cutout and is only 2 ½” deep. The ADF Receiver can be installed at any convenient place in the aircraft. The RS 422 interface between CU and Rx reduces inter-wiring. The control unit CU 5502 offers a clear, high contrast, double line display, which is readable under all lighting conditions, even in bright sunlight. The frequency can be selected in 0.5 kHz/1kHz, 10 kHz/100 kHz steps by using variable speed frequency control. The pre-selection in the channel memory of the preset display allows instant switchover by pushing a “Flip-Flop” key to a new NDB en-route for indication of the cross bearing for a position fix relatively to a second NDB. The output of the receiver is compatible with indicator ID 3502 and the converter AC 5303/04 for RMI.
The ADF 3500 system features an extensive automatic self-test function. After switch-on, the microprocessor and the frequency synthesizer are thoroughly checked by a test subroutine. The remote receiver RA 3502-() unit can also be controlled by CDU of FMS systems.
JTSO certified for either VFR or IFR use in all types of fixed wing and rotary wing aircraft, the ADF receiver can also be combined with other Becker Prime Line equipment, such as VHF-COM, NAV-VOR/ILS navigation and Mode S transponder systems which have similar control units, providing a pleasant presentation in the panel.

RMI Connection
A radio magnetic indicator (RMI) is widely used combining indications from a magnetic compass, VOR, and ADF into one instrument.
RMI connection via RMI convertor can be achieved through the combination of the converter and ID 3502 indicator presenting the bearing information relative to the center line of the aircraft in which an RF-Signal is incident. The equipment has been designed to meet the requirements of JTSO-2C41d.
The converter and indicator is located in the instrument panel. The converter and indicator is the converter circuit (decoder) for the indicator. A variable resistance control permits quadrantel error correction of approx. 20 degrees on the front panel without having to remove the indicator. The mechanical design of the converter and indicator is robust and well-suited for installation in all types of aircraft. The converter and indicator was developed to meet the requirements of JTSO-2C41d/DO-179. In the environmental categories for which it is certified, there are no restrictions for use of the unit in instrument panels, operating consoles or direct rigid attachment to the airframe of all aircraft. The converter and indicator was developed as a single-block unit and offered in different variants.

GARMIN® GTX™ 330/330 ES...
GARMIN® GTX™ transponder product line includes Mode A/C and Mode S TSO'd panel mounted transponders offered in a wide variety of configurations to choose from, depending on desired functions. Different models are listed under separate product presentations.
GARMIN® GTX™ 330 is a panel-mounted IFR-certified 250 W, Mode S digital transponder with traffic datalink capability and dedicated pushbutton keys for squawk code selection. The GTX™ 330 series brings ATC aircraft surveillance to new levels of precision, reliability and performance. Optionally available with 1090 MHz extended squitter transmission, certified to TSO-C166b authorization, the GTX™ 330 ES (Extended Squitter) provides an affordable pathway to ADS-B compliance for the Next Generation airspace system. The extended squitter technology enables transponders to automatically transmit traffic surveillance data (including aircraft flight ID, position, altitude, velocity, climb/descent, and heading information) compared to traditional Mode S and Mode C transponders, which can only broadcast altitude, and thus require a ground-based radar to correlate and identify the aircraft's position. In addition, simultaneous broadcast of this information to TAS or TCAS equipped aircraft, enables them to essentially see the same traffic picture for their location that ATC is watching on the ground. The “ES” upgrade provides a ADS-B Out solution but an input from an approved position source is still needed as GTX™ 330 does not have a WAAS GPS.
GARMIN® GTX™ 330 is discontinued and replaced by GTX™ 335, an entry-level ADS-B Out model with a version integrating an internal WAAS GPS. If ADS-B In capability is required then the the GTX™ 345 transponder should be selected.
