EXXONMOBIL® Mobil Avrex™ S Turbo 256  Gas Turbine Lubricant is a combination of a highly stable synthetic base fluid and a unique chemical additive package. Thecombination provides outstanding thermal and oxidative stability to resist deterioration and deposit formation in both the liquid and vapor phases, as well as excellent resistance to foaming. The effective operating range of this lubricant is between -54°C and 176°C (-65°F and 350°F). The pour point is below -60°C (-75°F). The product has a high specific heat in order to ensure good heat transfer from oil-cooledengine parts. In extensive laboratory testing and in-flight performance, Mobil Avrex™ S Turbo 256  exhibits excellent bulk oil stability at temperaturesup to 176°C (350°F). The evaporation rate at these temperatures is low enoughto prevent excessive loss of volume. It is uniquely suited for use when extreme low temperatures restrict the use of higher viscosity engine oils

Mobil Avrex™ S Turbo 256 Gas Turbine Lubricant (QPL listed as RM 248A) is recommended for aircraft gas turbine engines in commercial and military service, particularly where start-up temperatures are below -40°C (-40°F). The product is approved against U.S. Military Specification MIL-PRF-7808, Grade 3 while it is also compatible with other synthetic gas turbine lubricants meeting MIL-PRF-7808 or MIL-PRF-23699 specifications (*). The product is compatible with all metals used in gas turbine construction, as well as with F rubber (Viton A), H rubber (Buna N), and FVMQ rubber (fluorosilicone).

(*) Mixing of Mobil Avrex™ S Turbo 256 Gas turbine lubricant  with other products is not recommended because the blend may result in some loss of its performance characteristics.

EXXONMOBIL® Mobil Turbo 319A-2 is a fully synthetic lubricant developed to meet the performance requirements of Russian gas turbine aircraft engines which operate on mineral-oil-based lubricants. Formulated from a synthetic hydrocarbon combination of polyalphaolefin (PAO) and hindered ester based stock, Mobil Turbo 319A-2 is fortified with a unique chemical additive system. The resulting product has far superior thermal and oxidation stability than mineral-oil-based lubricants. The ability of Mobil Turbo 319A-2 to resist deterioration and deposit formation allows the potential for extended oil drain intervals and less frequent maintenance.

The closely controlled viscosity of Mobil Turbo 319A-2 at -51º C, along with a -60ºC pour point, ensure good low-temperature fluidity, permitting engine starting and lubrication at low temperatures. Mobil Turbo 319A-2 exhibits excellent bulk oil stability at temperatures up to 200º C (392º F). The evaporation rate of Mobil Turbo 319A-2 at high temperatures is significantly lower than mineral-oil-based products, and helps minimize oil consumption. The lubricant has excellent resistance to foaming.

The uncured material is a low sag paste suitable for application by extrusion gun or spatula. It cures at room temperature to form a resilient sealant to common aircraft substrate. It has a service temperature range from -54°C (-65°F) to 204°C (400°F), and will withstand flash temperatures of 1093°C (2000°F). HAZARDOUS MATERIAL.

PPG AEROSPACE® Pro-Seal P/S 700 Firewall Sealant is a high temperature two-part, synthetic rubber compound primerless firewall sealant. It has a service temperature range from -65°F (-54°C) to 400°F (204°C, with withstand flash temperatures of 2000°F (1093°C). The material is designed for sealing firewall structures against the passage of air and vapors.The uncured material is a low sag paste suitable for application by extrusion gun or spatula. It cures at room temperature to form a resilient sealant to common aircraft substrates. Its storage life is at least 12 months when stored at temperatures below 80 °F ( 27 °C) in original, unopened containers. Meets MIL-S-38249 TYPE 1 and AMS3374 Type 4. AEROSHELL® 500 2nd Generation Synthetic Turbine Engine Oil from Shell Aviation is a 5 centistoke synthetic hindered ester oil incorporating additives to improve thermal and oxidational stability and also metal passivation. Developed essentially to meet the requirements of Pratt & Whitney 521 B Type II and MIL -L-23699 specifications, it is suitable for certain civil and military aero-engines requiring this class of lubricant but also approved for use in their industrial and marine derivatives which retain the essential design elements of their aviation versions. High Viscosity Index Synthetic Base Fluids used in AEROSHELL® Turbine Oil 500 maintain viscosity and protect components more effectively under the high shear stresses that a turbine system places on lubricants. The outstanding high temperature and oxidation stability of AEROSHELL® Turbine Oil 500 is due to the natural properties of the synthetic hindered ester base fluids used. These fluids are clean running in that they tend to dissolve varnish and sludge rather than leave deposits on working surfaces.

Petroleum distillates include a range of products such as mineral oils, naphtha solvents, heavy fuel oils, waxes, benzenes and others used in many industrial and other applications. They are offered as part of our own labelled (AVIATIONEU NEW ERA) product portfolio or as OEM products (separately listed).

Naphtha Solvents are chemical product comprised of volatile and extremely flammable liquid hydrocarbons  derived from the refining of crude oil but can also be produced from natural gas condensates or petroleum distillates. Naphtha solvents are very strong and versatile, often used in hydrocarbon cracking, laundry soaps, and cleaning fluids among other applications. Those conforming to Mil-Spec TT-N-95 or its latest Rev. B (TT-N-95B) are aliphatic naphtha acrylic cleaning solvents available in Type I or Type II for use in organic coatings and as a cleaner for acrylic plastics. Usual packings include 1 USG cans, 5 USG pails or 55 USG drums.

The NYCO GREASE® range of greases includes multi-purpose or special-purpose mineral and synthetic greases for extreme applications (low and high temperatures, high speed and pressure, saline, corrosive, humid environments, etc.), compliant with civil, military aviation and industrial constraints. AEROSHELL® Sport Plus 4  from Shell Aviation is a second generation multi-grade piston engine oil specifically designed for use in light sport and very light/ultralight aircraft 4-stroke engines in any climate. It is the first aviation oil in the market that is BRP-Rotax tested and meets Rotax RON 424 OEM specification. AEROSHELL® Sport Plus 4  is suitable for BRP-ROTAX 912, 914, 912 iS engine series. Provides enhanced anti-wear protection compared to the previous generation as well as enhanced protection and lubricity for the smooth movement of clutch and gearbox components. Can be used with both unleaded aviation and road fuels and Avgas 100LL. Integrated additives support anti–corrosion and anti-wear of critical parts, powerful anti-oxidation action, anti-foaming for engines operating with an integrated gearbox and neutralization of acid build up.

Integral fuel tanks in aircraft form part of their wing or fuselage structure and they are commonly met in high-performance aircraft as they are the lightest, with most space per unit of weight. Rigid removable aircraft fuel tanks are also used in some aircraft, typically made of stainless steel or aluminum alloy and riveted together. Flexible fuel tanks (aka fuel bladders) are fuel containers made of reinforced flexible materials. They share many characteristics with rigid tanks but they require a smaller opening in the aircraft to be installed. Also used in other sectors for rapid deployment of storage facilities or increase capacity of fuels (gasoline, diesel or jet fuel) but also for water, oils, or as emergency units. They are made of high-quality PVC, EVA, and TPU (Thermoplastic Polyurethane) coated fabrics, are fully UV resistant, and can operate at temperatures from -50°C to +90°C, ensuring durability and reliability under the most demanding conditions. Made by different manufacturers, these tanks conform to commercial standards while some of them are ballistic-tolerant or engineered for mission-critical military or aerospace uses, meeting respective commercial (such as TSO-C80 and 14 CFR Part 29) as well as military specifications like MIL-DTL-6396, MIL-DTL-5578, and MIL-DTL-27422.

Related materials such as tank cleaners/degreasers, adhesives & sealants are also offered and included in this presentation. 

Tank adhesives/sealants come in different compounds (chemical composition) and respective prices, and their selection heavily depends the material of the tank they shall be applied and the sealing content (water, oil, fuel, etc). The selection and use of any sealant during tank construction, maintenance or repair should always ensure sealant's compatibility with tank composition and chemical resistance to fuels or other fluids to be sealed. Commonly used sealants for tanks span from PVC, the more cost-effective but with low temperature resistance & toxic when burned, to more expensive but safer Silicone ones, with excellent flexibility, high and low-temperature resistance and biocompatibility, to Polyurethane sealants, durable but not so chemically resistant as Polysulfide, and Polysulfide rubber sealants, flexible, and extremely resistant to gasoline, ethanol and many other chemicals. 

For aircraft integral fuel tanks and rigid removable fuel tanks made of metals, two-part Polysulfide sealants are often the preferred choice. For flexible Polyurethane/Thermoplastic Polyurethane (PU/TPU) fuel tanks (bladders) the bonding/sealing material itself is often a specialized PU/TPU formulation for enhanced flexibility and durability,chemical resistance to hydrocarbon fuels, solvents, and oils, impact resistance, and bonding strength compared to traditional formulations. Silicone sealants are also used depending on application requirements.
