EXXONMOBIL® Mobil Turbo 319A-2 is a fully synthetic lubricant developed to meet the performance requirements of Russian gas turbine aircraft engines which operate on mineral-oil-based lubricants. Formulated from a synthetic hydrocarbon combination of polyalphaolefin (PAO) and hindered ester based stock, Mobil Turbo 319A-2 is fortified with a unique chemical additive system. The resulting product has far superior thermal and oxidation stability than mineral-oil-based lubricants. The ability of Mobil Turbo 319A-2 to resist deterioration and deposit formation allows the potential for extended oil drain intervals and less frequent maintenance.

The closely controlled viscosity of Mobil Turbo 319A-2 at -51º C, along with a -60ºC pour point, ensure good low-temperature fluidity, permitting engine starting and lubrication at low temperatures. Mobil Turbo 319A-2 exhibits excellent bulk oil stability at temperatures up to 200º C (392º F). The evaporation rate of Mobil Turbo 319A-2 at high temperatures is significantly lower than mineral-oil-based products, and helps minimize oil consumption. The lubricant has excellent resistance to foaming.

AEROSHELL®Turbine Oil 750 is a 7½ mm2 /s synthetic mixed ester oil containing a thickener and additives which provide excellent load carrying, thermal and oxidation stability. It meets the requirements of DERD 2487 (now DEF STAN 91-98) and was developed to provide a high standard of lubrication specifically for British and Russian turbo-prop engines, especially those calling for mineral turbine oils and particularly turbo-prop engines where a good load carrying oil was required for the propeller reduction gearbox. Approved by the Russian authorities as an analogue to MN-7.5u and for those Russian turbo-prop applications which require the use of mixtures of mineral turbine oil and aircraft piston engine oil.

AEROSHELL® 500 2nd Generation Synthetic Turbine Engine Oil from Shell Aviation is a 5 centistoke synthetic hindered ester oil incorporating additives to improve thermal and oxidational stability and also metal passivation. Developed essentially to meet the requirements of Pratt & Whitney 521 B Type II and MIL -L-23699 specifications, it is suitable for certain civil and military aero-engines requiring this class of lubricant but also approved for use in their industrial and marine derivatives which retain the essential design elements of their aviation versions. High Viscosity Index Synthetic Base Fluids used in AEROSHELL® Turbine Oil 500 maintain viscosity and protect components more effectively under the high shear stresses that a turbine system places on lubricants. The outstanding high temperature and oxidation stability of AEROSHELL® Turbine Oil 500 is due to the natural properties of the synthetic hindered ester base fluids used. These fluids are clean running in that they tend to dissolve varnish and sludge rather than leave deposits on working surfaces.

Available in US Quarts, 20 Lt Pails and Drums of 55 US Gallons. Meets U.S. Approved MIL-PRF-23699G Grade STD specification.

PPG AEROSPACE® Corrosion Inhibitive Aircraft Sealants & Jointing Compounds include different products offered in different packings.

PPG AEROSPACE® P/S (Pro Seal) 870 Corrosion Inhibitive Sealants are two-part, manganese dioxide cured polysulfide compounds.  They have a service temperature range from -65°F (-54°C) to 250­°F (121°C), with intermittent excursions up to 275° (135°C). They act as an effective barrier against the common causes of corrosion on the aluminum alloys or between dissimilar metals. The cured sealant maintains elastomeric properties after limited exposure to both jet fuel and aviation gas. Offered in A, B & C classes.

P/S 870 Class A uncured material is suitable for application by brush in thickness up to 25 mils. It cures at room temperatures to form a resilient sealant having excellent adhesion to common aircraft substrates. Supplied in two-part kits and Semco® cartridges.

P/S 870 Class B uncured material is a low sag, thixotropic paste suitable for application by extrusion gun or spatula. It cures at room temperature to form a resilient sealant having excellent adhesion to common aircraft substrates. Available in two-part kits or Semkit® cartridges. 

P/S 870 Class C uncured material is designed for roller and faying surface sealing applications. It cures at room temperature to form a resilient sealant having excellent adhesion to common aircraft substrates. Available in two-part kits and Semco® cartridges.

PPG AEROSPACE® Proseal P/S 890 Class A and B are aircraft integral fuel tank sealants. They have a service temperature range from -65°F (-54°C) to 250°F (121°C), with intermittent excursions up to 275°F (135°C). Proseal P/S 890 Class A is designed for brush and fay sealing of fuel tanks and other aircraft fuselge sealing applications. Proseal P/S 890 Class B  is designed for fillet sealing of fuel tanks and other aircraft fuselage sealing applications. The cured sealants maintain excellent elastomeric properties after prolonged exposure to both jet fuel and aviation gas.  Both are two-part, manganese dioxide cured polysulfide compounds. EXXONMOBIL® MOBIL® Gear Lubricants are formulated to help protect and extend the life of transaxle, rear axle and differential gears. They provide outstanding protection, even in some of the most extreme operating conditions. They include:

MOBIL® 75W-90 and 75W-140 Multi-Purpose Automotive Gear Lubricants designed to help meet the highest level performance requirements of modern passenger vehicles in all types of operating conditions including limited slip applications, as well as, deliver outstanding power transfer performance.

MOBIL® 80W-90 and 85W-140 Commercial Gear Oils engineered for performance in heavy-duty commercial transmissions, axles and final drives where extreme pressures and shock loading are expected. Applicable for on-highway light and heavy-duty trucks, buses, vans and cars.

MOBIL® MOBILGEAR® XMP Series Extra High Performance Industrial Gear Oils designed to provide optimum equipment protection and oil life even under extreme conditions. Recommended for enclosed industrial gear drives including steel-on-steel spur, helical, and bevel gears. Based on high quality mineral base stocks and an advanced proprietary additive system designed to provide excellent protection against conventional wear modes such as scuffing but also a high level of resistance against micropitting fatigue. They also offer the potential for improved lubrication of gearbox rolling element bearings and outstanding rust and corrosion protection versus conventional gear oils, including seawater and acidic water protection. Offered in different ISO Grades they conform to different specifications and approvals.

MOBIL® Mobilgear™ SHC™ XMP  Synthetic Wind Turbine Gear Oils designed to provide optimum equipment protection of wind turbine gearboxes, including steel-on-steel spur, helical and bevel gears, operating under the extreme conditions typical of wind turbines. They contain an advanced and carefully blended proprietary additive system designed to provide excellent protection against conventional wear modes such as scuffing and a high level of resistance against micropitting fatigue. They offer outstanding rust and corrosion protection in applications where salt water and acidic water protection are required. Available in 2 ISO Grades, Mobilgear™ SHC™ XMP 320 and Mobilgear™ SHC™ XMP 460.

SHELL® HELIX Fully Synthetic Motor Oils are manufactured from 100% synthetic base stock and high quality additives to achieve higher performance levels than both synthetic technology and mineral oils. To these high-quality synthetic base oils SHELL® proprietary Active Cleansing Technology is added to create a motor oil that helps provide superior cleansing and protection for today’s engines. SHELL® HELIX oil types include Semi Synthetic Motor Oils, Mineral Motor Oils, High Mileage Oils, Diesel Motor Oils and  ECT Oils.

SHELL® ADVANCE portfolio of motorcycle engine oils consists of  4T, 2T motorcycle and scooter oils. Their key benefits include zero loss in horsepower, fuel economy and longer drain intervals.

SHELL® RIMULA Light Duty range of oils is designed for light duty trucks. With Dynamic Protection and Dynamic Protection Plus Technology (included in Grade LD5), they protect against engine wear and tear caused by each stop and start in daily operations. The high performance additive package contains anti-oxidation components for a longer oil life in vehicles operating under high idle engine conditions. Dispersants in the additive package help break down soot and deposit build-up regardless of the type of load carried.

SHELL® RIMULA Heavy Duty engine oils offer outstanding wear protection with reduced viscosity for improved fuel economy, acid and deposit protection and wear control.

ENGINEERED CUSTOM LUBRICANTS (ECL), part of Quaker Houghton, is a producer of lubricants for automotive, aviation & aerospace, semiconductor and specialty valves' applications. ECL CHRISTO-LUBE® products include Perfluoropolyether (PFPE) oils, greases, and dispersions chosen for their extreme temperature capabilities (-90° C to 250° C), excellent compatibility with virtually all materials (inc. plastics & elastomers), or their non-reactivity with oxygen, other gasses, chemicals, solvents, or automotive fluids. The following ECL lubricants can be used in Aerospace  applications:

Aircraft and Instrument Greases meeting MIL-PRF-27617G spec. Fully fluorinated, PTFE  thickened, capable for extreme temperature operations with an outstanding stability with oxygen and an excellent compatibility with metals, plastics and elastomers. Chemically inert, resistant to hydrocarbon fuel and liquid oxygen for use as lubricants in aircraft & supporting equipment. 

CHRISTO-LUBE® MCG 109 -65 to 260 °C - Fully fluorinated medium consistency grease, PTFE thickened. Useful in lubricating bearings, gears and actuators typically found in the semiconductor industry. Clean room compatible. Performs exceptionally well under extreme vacuum environments. Supplied in 2oz Tube and 1 lb Jar.

CHRISTO-LUBE® MCG 111 -60°C to 230°C qualified to MIL-PRF-27617G, Types I, II, III.  Medium consistency fluorinated lubricant for lubricating valve and regulator components requiring non-reactivity with harsh chemicals, fuels and solvents. Also  NSF  H-1  registered lubricant for use in food processing equipment/operations. Offered packings (5 gr/ 2 oz./4 oz./8 oz./ 1 lb tubes, 2 oz. syringes, 1 lb  jars or 1.76 lb cartridges).

CHRISTO-LUBE® MCG 114 -40°C to 140°C qualified to MIL-PRF-27617G,Type I. 

CHRISTO-LUBE® MCG 116 -20°C to 230°C qualified to MIL-PRF-27617G,Type III.

Soft (MCG 114 ) and Medium consistency (MCG 116) fluorinated lubricants for lubricating aircraft components when resistance to hydrocarbon fuel and liquid oxygen is needed. 

Guidance Systems and Instrumentation, chemically inert providing extreme low-temperature starting and running torque.

CHRISTO-LUBE® MCG 106 -75°C to 150°C Grease for bearings, gears, splines, valves and screw actuators. Contains a PFPE soluble corrosion inhibitor for protection of lubricated parts in long term storage.

CHRISTO-LUBE® MCG 117 -65°C to 250°C Wide temperature, extremely inert grease for use in vacuum systems where pressures may be as low as 10-12 Torr.

CHRISTO-LUBE® MCG 134 -50°C to 260°C Specified for rotary and push button selector switches. Contains a PFPE-soluble corrosion inhibitor for use on parts in long term storage.

Turbine engine oils (TEO) used in commercial aircraft and general aviation engines are conforming with the US military specification MIL-PRF-23699 (formerly MIL-L-23699), an essential step in the process of gaining engine equipment manufacturer approval in different engine, engine accessories and auxiliary power unit types. Although primarily a military specification, MIL-PRF-23699 has served the commercial aviation sector since the 1960s and still used today. This specification covers four oil  categories:

STD – Standard

HTS – High Thermal Stability

C/I – Corrosion Inhibited (for military use only). Oils in this category include AeroShell Turbine Oil 531, Eastman Aero-D, NYCO TURBONYCOIL 601 and Castrol AeroJet 5.

EE – Enhanced Ester

In the case of TEOs, hotter running engines with extended times between overhauls are not adequately covered by MIL-PRF-23699 for the type of oil needed in modern commercial engines requiring additionaly tighter controls

In 2005, SAE (Society of Automotive Engineers) has issued SAE AS5780 to replace MIL-PRF-23699 defining two grades of oil:

SPC – Standard Performance Capability, almost identical to STD except for additional reporting items.

HPC – High Performance Capability. SAE HPC grade has more stringent performance requirements compared with the MIL-PRF-23699 HTS grade.

Most commonly used aircraft turbine engine oil brands fall under both MIL-PRF-23699 and SAE AS5780 specifications in the respective categories. 

Examples: 

- STD/SPC: Castrol 500 (*),AeroShell 500, AeroShell 560,Mobil Jet II, etc.

- HTS/HPC: Mobil Jet Oil 254, Eastman 2197, etc. 

Furthermore, certain oils comply with different specifications to those of MIL-PRF-23699 or  SAE AS5780.

Note: HTS/HPC oils offer improved temperature capabilities (engine cleanliness) but at the cost of lower elastomer compatibility & higher prices. Most engines run well on STD/SPC oils.
