INNOSPEC FUELS SPECIALTIES Fuel Additives SKU: INSPC-ADDT-FL

An integral part of INNOSPEC Inc., INNOSPEC FUEL SPECIALTIES business unit is a leading developer and supplier of specialty additives for petroleum-based fuels, coal, and biofuels used in a diverse scope of applications.

Corrosion Inhibitor additives form part of INNOSPEC FUEL SPECIALTIES product lines. They are designed to protect against internal corrosion of fuel storage and distribution systems  and they are used extensively in storage, pipeline and aviation applications. They protect against storage vessel and pipeline leakage, contamination of fuel with particulates and blockage of filters and screens from corrosion material.

INNOSPEC’s approved aviation fuel Corrosion Inhibitors/Lubricity Improvers (CI / LI) serve a dual function, they improve the fuel’s lubricity as well as protecting the fuel system against corrosion. Two products in the INNOSPEC’s DCI product range (DCI-4A and DCI-6A) hold numerous approvals for aviation fuel usesare approved for use in jet fuels. DCI-4A is a preferred inhibitor for aviation fuels while DCI-6A, a ‘stronger’ corrosion inhibitor than DCI-4A is preferred for all ground fuels and for pipeline corrosion protection, due to its low treat rate.

INNOSPEC's STADIS® aviation fuel Static Dissipators  aim to enhance safety by preventing static charge build up when refining or handling fuels.

STADIS® 450 is a non-metallic distillate fuel additive that increases the electrical conductivity of distillate fuels and helps reduce hazards associated with their mixing, transfer, and shipment. It can be used in JP-8, JP-5, Jet-A1 and Jet B fuels. STADIS® 450 is the premium static dissipator additive (SDA) in use today and  the only SDA approved worldwide for use in civilian and military aviation turbine jet fuels. STADIS® 425 is intended for use in  ground fuel applications and specifically designed for use in applications such as diesel fuels and gas oil.

INNOSPEC FUEL SPECIALTIES Aviation Corrosion Inhibitors/Lubricity Improvers (CI / LI)

DCI-4A is the preferred corrosion inhibitor for aviation fuels. It serves a dual function, protects the fuel system against corrosion during pipeline transfer and storage while improving the fuel’s lubricity. DCI-4A can be used in aviation gasolines, motor gasolines, jet fuels and other distillate fuels. DCI-4A has a low effect on MSEP and other water interactions, when compared to competitive corrosion inhibitors. The treat rate range for DCI-4A in ground fuels is typically 6-12mg/l. Offered in 1-US gal jugs or 55 US gal drums.

DCI-4A Approvals/Qualifications

DCI-4A qualifies for use in different fuels listed below and carries approvals for use in fuel systems of different  airframe and turbine  engine OEMs including Boeing, Fokker, Lockheed, McDonnell Douglas, Allison, Pratt & Whitney, General Electric, and Rolls-Royce.

Jet fuel lubricity additive MIL-PRF-25017 Corrosion Inhibitors*, DEF STAN 68-251

Civil aviation turbine fuel AFQRJOS / JSCL, ASTM D1655

Military aviation turbine fuel MIL-DTL-5624, MIL-DTL-83133, DEF STAN 91-87, DEF STAN 91-91, DEF AUST 5208, DEF AUST 5240

NATO (including NATO Pipeline System) STANAG 3390, STANAG 7036 (NPS)

*DCI-4A has the following class-leading concentration approvals for Category 1 additives in MIL-PRF-25017:

REC = 6mg/l / MEC = 9mg/l / MAC = 24mg/l

INNOSPEC FUEL SPECIALTIES  Aviation Fuel Static Dissipators

Fuel Static Dissipators aim to enhance safety by preventing static charge build up when refining or handling fuels.Slow dissipation can be a potential hazard, as a discharge from an electrically charged fuel to the side of the tank can ignite the fuel vapor, causing an explosion. Electro-static ignition hazzards are also encountered when rapid fuel flow rates are combined with highly refined low sulphur fuels in which high severity refinery processes are used to remove trace materials from these fuels but also reduce the natural conductivity of the fuel.

INNOSPEC's STADIS® brand is a class leading, non-metallic range of static dissipator additives (SDAs). At low concentrations (typically 0.5 to 3 mg/l), they increase the electrical conductivity of middle distillates, reducing the risk of electrostatic hazards. The STADIS® range of SDAs can be used to improve the conductivity of both ground and jet (aviation) fuels.

STADIS® 450

STADIS® 450 is a non-metallic distillate fuel additive that increases the electrical conductivity of distillate fuels and helps reduce hazards associated with mixing, transfer, and shipment of distillate fuels. It is is the premium static dissipator additive (SDA) in use today and  the only SDA approved worldwide for use in civilian and military aviation turbine jet fuels. Its use is mandatory in most aviation turbine fuels for either civil or military use.. It reduces the risk of static discharge and electro-static ignition at minimal treat rates. This additive is also widely used in ground fuels. STADIS® 450 provides the following functional and performance properties:

- Superior low temperature conductivity retention

- Fully Compatible with other additives

- Pipe Line Use Accepted

- Consistent lot-to-lot performance

- Excellent low temperature handling

- Stable during storage

- Ashless - non-metallic

- It can be used in JP-8, JP-5, Jet-A1 and Jet B aviation turbine fuels.

Approvals
