GARMIN® GTX™ 328  solid-state Mode S digital transponder was designed exclusively for Europe to satisfy the European requirement for a Mode S solution that meets the reduced certification requirements for the VFR Mode S mandate set by European Commission Implementing Regulation (EU) No 1207/2011.

Similar to GTX™ 330, the GTX™ 328 offers the same great value, reliability and innovation at an affordable price. The GTX™ 328  includes many of the features of the GTX™ 330 Mode S transponder, outside air temperature, count up/down timers  (using a built-in digitized voice annunciator to alert the pilot when preset altitude limits have been exceeded or timer expiration), altitude monitoring, density altitude functions, front-panel input for flight ID and has a digitised voice output for pilot warning of altitude limits or timer expiration. The easy-reading DSTN Liquid Crystal Display reverses the numbers out of black for optimal viewing. The numeric keypad allows fast entering a squawk code and a dedicated VFR button allows for quick-and-easy 1200/VFR squawking. The GTX™ 328 is also IFR certified for aircraft operating under 15,000 feet and with a true airspeed of under 175 knots.

Unlike GTX™ 330 which provides TIS (Traffic Information Services), EHS (Enhanced Mode S) functionality and transmits power that exceeds the requirement for VFR aircraft in Europe, the European GTX™ 328 does not offer TIS, EHS or ADS-B functionality.
