AVIATIONEU NEW ERA DIN 982...

A nylon-insert lock nut (also referred to as elastic stop nut, nut with a non-metallic insert  or nyloc nut) is a type of locknut with a nylon collar that increases friction on the screw thread. Nyloc nuts are widely used in products and structures subject to dynamic loads where motion or vibration can cause fasteners to become loose. Their design prevents the connection from loosening without the need for additional lock washers. The nylon insert is situated at the top of the nut and when tightened locks against the thread. The insert deforms elastically over the threads as tightening pressure is applied. The insert locks the nut against the screw as a result of friction, caused by the radial compressive force resulting from the deformation of the nylon. Nyloc nuts retain their locking ability up to 250 °F.

Metric hexagonal nylon-insert self-locking nuts are high anti vibration and anti loose fastening parts conforming to DIN 982 and DIN 985 standards. Different metric thread sizes are designated by the letter "M" indicating the nut's clearance diameter in mm. The main difference between DIN 982 & DIN 985 is the height of the nuts for same thread diameter. DIN 982 lock nuts (often termed as “P” Type) are taller than DIN 985 (aka “T” Type) ones. Lower profile  DIN 985 are used in places where height is limited, while standard height DIN 982 nuts are used in connections where increased strength and fixation are required. In addition, the size range of DIN 985 nuts is wider than that of DIN 982. DIN 985 Nylon self-locking nuts can be used in various mechanical and electrical products with temperature from – 50 ℃ to 100 ℃. Due to their significantly higher anti vibration and anti loose performance than other anti loose devices, their application ranges from  tanks, mining, agricultural, textile &  various kinds of machinery to automobiles and aerospace.

Both DIN 982 and DIN 985 lock nuts are offered as part of our own (AVIATIONEU NEW ERA) product lines. Sourced from quality manufacturers they are competitively priced and can be supplied in different materials (Steel, Brass, Carbon Steel, Alloy Steel & Stainless Steel), grades (Class 5, 6, 8 or 10), metric thread diameters (typically M3/3 mm to M30/30 mm or up to 48 mm for DIN 985 nuts), thread pitches and finishes (natural, electro zinc-plated, chrome plated, black oxide and others). Sold in pieces or packs with number of pieces per pack indicated after "PK" designation in product SKU.

Notes:

Nut thread pitch indicates the distance between threads measured along the length of the nut expressed in mm.

In the case of stainless steel lock nuts, the stainless steel grades are denoted with codes such as A2 or A4 and dash numbers indicating the minimum tensile strength to be met by the material. For example, A2-70 relates to a nylon-insert lock nut made from 304 stainless steel with a minimum tensile strength of 700N/mm² (MPa).

Aluminum alloys 6061 and 6063 (AL6061/AL6063), with magnesium and silicon as their major alloying elements, are both popular alloys used in extrusions for a variety of architectural, machinery, equipment, and consumer products. Similar in composition & mechanical properties they come as O (annealed), or in tempered grades. Their magnesium content provides increased strength, and silicon reduces their melting temperature. Their formability, weldability, corrosion resistance, and moderately high strength enhance their versatility. However, there are differences between them and factors affecting their suitability for different applications. 6061 aluminum is the most commonly used aluminum alloy in the world used in all kinds of applications ranging from electronics to welded assemblies. Compared to AL2024 (aka aircraft aluminum) 2024 aluminum’s higher yield strength makes it more suitable if strength is a priority. 6061 tubes, sheets, bars, and plates offer high- to moderate strength, excellent corrosion resistance, and superior machinability and weldability while 6063 aluminum tubes offer an excellent strength-to-weight ratio, superior corrosion resistance, and a fine appearance and finish.

AVIATIONEU NEW ERA Dyes &...

Dyes and Pigments represent the two principal types of colorants widely used in industrial and consumer products. They impart color through different methods.

The main difference between the two is that dyes/dyestuffs provide their color by attaching to a substrate, or by dissolving in a solvent like water, alcohol, or oil, through which the dye becomes part of the material chemical solution. Pigments provide color without any required interaction with another substance. Pigments are insoluble powders that exist as suspended particles in a binder. Other differences include their application mechanism, the typically transparent appearance of dyes versus opacity of pigments, their durability (fastness) with pigments being generally more fade-resistant and chemically stable than less resistant to fading and washing dyes, but also the field of application with solvent dyes (specifically oil-soluble) and water-soluble dyes dyes commonly used on fuels (petrol, oil), lubricants, greases, candles, plastics (PS, ABS, PC), textiles, food, leather, hair color, wood stains, or varnishes while pigments on paints (acrylic, oil), inks for inkjet printers, plastics, cosmetics, and printing.

Solvent dyes (specifically oil-soluble) are non-ionic organic compounds dissolving in oils, hydrocarbon solvents, waxes, and fats. Widely used in fuels (petrol, oil) for regulatory purposes but also on lubricants, greases, plastics for distinguishing brands, conformance to precise specifications set by OEMs, etc. They are resistant to water and ideal for non-polar, transparent, or oily substrates. Water-soluble dyes dissolve in water and alcohols providing intense, deep colors to hydrophilic materials, and are commonly encountered in  textiles, paper, hair coloring, cosmetics, and food coloring.

Sourced from quality producers, liquid and powder solvent dyes are now offered as part of AVIATIONEU NEW ERA product lines in different packaging options. Our oil and water soluble dyes are intended for use as cost effective solutions for numerous applications instead of competitive brands. In general, liquid dyes are supplied ready to use  (without prior pre-dissolving need) and consist a preferred choice for quick, even coloring whereas our powder dyes are often selected for their higher concentration, longer shelf life for storage, dry mixing or transport convenience (non-hazmat regulated).

AVIATIONEU NEW ERA MS21078...

Anchor nuts (aka nutplates or anchor plates) are terms used interchangeably and relate to stamped sheet metal fasteners with an internally threaded tube and a plate with two clearance holes for rivets. They are used in blind mounted panel applications in aerospace and other industrial sectors where hex nuts cannot be used or an attached nut is required for ease of maintenance.

Anchor nuts can be Fixed or Floating, the latter being easier to use due to their built-in nut (threaded hole) able to "float" slightly thus providing a convenient connection point for threaded rods, such as bolts, from the backside. In the case of Fixed anchor nuts, the built-in nut is static (i.e. without the capability to “float”) and the threaded rod must be positioned perfectly over the hole. Self-locking anchor nuts are those with a built-in locking mechanism preventing them from loosening over time from vibrations. They are extensively used in aerospace, automotive, and construction industries.

Depending on their intended application, nutplates conform to different military, aerospace, ISO or other industrial standards such as the German DIN, U.S. (ASME & ASTM, IFI, ANSI), British BS, Japanese JIS and others. They are offered as OEM parts under their respective brands or under our own labelled (AVIATIONEU NEW ERA) product lines intended as cost-effective alternatives to the respective OEM products. Listed in accordance with their standard of compliance, Fixed and Floating nutplates come in different materials (such as steel or CRES & finishes),  in single/double lug configurations and Metric ISO οr Unified thread sizes. There is currently no U.S. Military Standard (MS) specification for Metric nutplates. Depending on the selected product and availability, nutplates can be supplied with a dry film lube specified by the letter "L" in the respective part number. Those with countersunk rivet holes are specified by the letter "K" at the end of the part number.

Sourced from quality manufacturers, AVIATIONEU NEW ERA MS21078 series nutplates are fixed self-locking, two-lug nutplates with elastic insert and plain rivet holes.  Made from cadmium plated steel they are available in different Unified thread sizes and replace respective AN366F series nutplates.  Sold in pieces but also in packs where the specified number of nuts per pack is indicated after the letters "PK" in the product reference number (SKU). Appearing prices are always for the units of measurement used each time. Matching rivets are sold separately.

AVIATIONEU NEW ERA 4130...

Steel alloy 4130 (ST4130), also known as Chrome Moly after the 2 key elements of its composition, chromium, and molybdenum, is a general-purpose alloy steel widely used by the aviation and motorsports industries due to its tensile strength of 90,000 psi, weldability, fabrication, and mild hardenability in all offered forms (tubes, bars, sheets and plates). They are available in two different material states (Normalized and Annealed) depending on the process of how the material is heated and cooled.

The Normalized condition (sometimes referred to as "Condition N") is the harder and stronger condition and is best used when forming is not needed. Normalizing relieves internal stress on steel and improves toughness in steels that may harden after the cold working process. The Annealed condition (sometimes referred to as "Condition A") is the softer and formable condition and is best used when forming is needed. Annealing relieves internal stresses, softens and makes the material more ductile.

4130 alloy steel (Chromoly) tubes exhibit an excellent strength to weight ratio, they are malleable, very easy to weld, resistant to scaling and oxidation and have a clean, smooth finish on both the inside and the outside of the tubing. Square tubes are offered in Normalized (N) condition as part of our own branded (AVIATIONEU NEW ERA) product lines and conform to SAE AMS-T 6736 & AMS 6360 M(*) specifications. They can be furnished in different wall thicknesses, widths and heights in inches and in different pre cut lengths from 1 foot to 12 feet. Appearing selling prices are per foot of cut length. Unless otherwise mentioned, there is additional cost if manufacturing test reports are required. For additional information, please refer to the supplied documentation or contact us.

AVIATIONEU NEW ERA 2024...

One of the most versatile metals in manufacturing today is Aluminum used to produce products in an almost limitless number of shapes for an almost limitless number of uses.

AL2024, the so-called aircraft aluminum, is an aluminium alloy, with copper as the primary alloying element. It is used in applications requiring high strength to weight ratio, as well as good fatigue resistance, weldablility and average machinability. The addition of copper to this alloy makes 2024 one of the strongest aluminum alloys. It comes in different tempers (O without heat treatment or T with heat treatment). It is non-magnetic and heat treatable but it also is more succeptible to corrosion than most other aluminum alloys.

Due to the poor corrosion resistance of this alloy  it is often clad (specified as CLAD or ALCLAD) in which case high-purity aluminium surface layers are metallurgically bonded to the aluminium alloy core material. 2024-T3 is typically used in structures where a high strength to weight ratio is necessary, clock parts, computer parts, hydraulic parts, bolts, valves, nuts, pistons, and gears.

Aluminum 2024 tubes/pipes are offered as part of our own branded (AVIATIONEU NEW ERA) product lines.Tubes are designed to act as structural support, whereas pipes are designed to carry liquids and gases. AL2024 tubing comes in different shapes (round, square, orthogonal and others), tempers, dimensions and pre cut or cut to order lenght options with the ability to be heat treated for even higher strength, all at an affordable price.

Two of the most commonly used processes for shaping aluminum include the extrusion and the drawing process. In the drawn aluminum tubing process the aluminum is pulled, or drawn into the die cavity, during which it undergoes what is called plastic deformation where the aluminum is stretched to achieve the desired shape. Drawn aluminum is most often used to create products including pots, cans, tubes and other circular objects. In the extrusion tubing process the formed shape is achived by first heating the aluminum to a very high temperature until it is soft and malleable but not liquid. Then it is forced or pushed through a die which enables molding and shaping of the desired final product. After extrusion, the finished extruded tubing product  begins to cool and harden becoming strong and durable and holding the desired shape.

The AVIATIONEU NEW ERA Aluminum alloy round tubes 2024 T3 temper are frequently used for aerospace as they offer an excellent strength-to-weight ratio, high fatigue resistance, and average machinability. They are offered as drawn and are available in different outer diameters, wall thicknesses and pre cut lengths in inches. Depending on the producer they meet AMS -4088, AMS -WW-T-700/3 and ASTM B210 specifications. For additional information, please refer to our Brief Guide on Aluminum Grades & Temper Designations or contact us.

The inside diameter of the flanged end is countersunk to form a seat for the flare when assembled to a mating fitting.

Coupling sleeves conforming to SAE International, standard AS5176 standard replace respective MS20819/AN819 sleeves and they are offered as part of our own (AVIATIONEU NEW ERA) product lines. Sourced from quality producers these fittings are manufactured in different materials including 4130 Steel, Copper, Corrosion Resistant Steel (CRES) and Aluminum & Titanium Alloys. Material Code Letters in the part numbers indicate the composition of the fitting.

Depending on their Part Number they are sold in pieces but also in packs a with specified number of fittings indicated after the letters "PK" in the product reference number (SKU).

AVIATIONEU NEW ERA...

Flared tube coupling nuts conforming SAE International standard AS5175 are used for a leak-free solution on aircraft and other applications replacing respective AN818 parts. They are offered  as part of our own (AVIATIONEU NEW ERA) product lines in different materials and grades and multiple thread sizes to suit application needs. Material Code Letters in the part numbers indicate the composition of the fitting (No code for Steel 1137 or 4130, "D" for Aluminum alloys (except 7075-T73), "J" for 304 Stainless Steel (CRES 304), "K" for 316 Stainless Steel (CRES 316), "T" for Titanium 64AI-4V or "W" for Aluminum 7075-T73. These nuts are designed to be used with AS5176 and MS20819 sleeves. The 2 digits after the series code indicate the tubing outer diameter (O.D.)  in inches. Finish code “V” in the PN indicates high purity Aluminum coating for “W” or “D” fittings. Depending on their Part Number they are sold in pieces but also in packs a with specified number of fittings indicated after the letters "PK" in the product reference number (SKU).

Note: In SAE AS standards for new designs, aluminum fittings with material code letter D in their Part or Identifying Number (PIN) are replaced by those with material code letter W for Aluminum Alloy 7075-T73 providing a higher tensile strength.

AVIATIONEU NEW ERA 4130...

Steel alloy 4130 (ST4130), also known as Chrome Moly after the 2 key alloying elements, chromium, and molybdenum, is a general-purpose alloy steel widely used by the aviation and motorsports industries due to its weldability, fabrication, and mild hardenability in all offered forms (tubes, bars, sheets and plates).

4130 alloy steel sheets are offered as part of AVIATIONEU NEW ERA product lines for a wide range of uses including structural applications, including gears, fasteners, and and aircraft exteriors. These sheets offer good weldability without compromising steel abrasion and impact resistance and can be made even stronger throough heat treatment.AVIATIONEU NEW ERA 4130 alloy steel sheets undergo a heat treating process and they are available in two different material states, Normalized or Annealed,  depending on the process of how the material is heated and cooled. The letters "NRZ" and "ANL" specify respectively Normalized or Annealed state in our Reference Codes (SKUs) for ordering of materials.  4130 Annealed steel sheets are produced to the aerospace specification AMS-6350 (sometimes referred to as "Condition A") while Normalized ones meet aerospace specification AMS-6345 (also known as "Condition N"). Annealed steel sheets are "softer" than their normalized steel counterparts and offer higher workability. Normalized steel sheets offer a higher strength tolerance.

Sourced from quality producers, these sheets are offered in different thicknesses and specific widths and lengths in inches. For additional information, please refer to our supplied documentation, the individual product presentations or contact us for quotation.
