AVIATIONEU NEW ERA MS14144...

A castellated nut, also referred to as a castle nut or slotted nut, is a nut with slots (notches) cut into one end. Although castellated nuts are frequently referred to as slotted nuts, there are slight differences. Castellated nuts are formed with a round section at the top where the slots are located. Slotted nuts do not have this rounded modification. The flat sides of slotted nuts extend fully from the top to the bottom of the nut. Both castellated and slotted nuts are designed to use a pin (usually a split pin) that fits through the slots and through a hole in the screw to which the nut is attached. This pin prevents the nut from turning and loosening. Compared with slotted nuts, castellated nuts allow the cotter pin to be confined closer to the margins of the nut itself, providing added secureness.

MS14144 Series nuts are slotted hexagon style lightweight castellated self locking nuts manufactured from steel and cadmium plated. They are offered as part of our own labelled (AVIATIONEU NEW ERA) product lines in different sizes with right-hand thread direction and a dry film lubricant as applicable, specified by the letter "L" in the part number.

O-rings (also termed as Preformed Packings) offer effective sealing over wide ranges of pressure, temperature, and movement, with the advantage of sealing pressure in both directions and reducing friction and wear on moving parts. The selection of a specific O-ring is based on a variety of factors, including fluid media resistance, temperature range, hardness, durability, gland size, static or dynamic application, etc. The use of O-rings as gaskets or static seals permits metal-to-metal contact and allows almost unlimited pressures under extreme vibration. All O-rings should be lubricated before installation and constant lubrication should be provided for running seals to avoid excessive wear. Sharp edges, threads, and cross-drilled ports over or through which rings must be installed should be avoided.

An extensive selection of O-rings can be supplied as part of OEM brands or sourced from quality manufacturers and offered as part of our own (AVIATIONEU NEW ERA) product lines. They are made from different materials such as Nitrile/Buna-N (NBR), Butadiene (Synthetic) Rubber (BR), Flurocarbon (Viton®) rubber  and others. AVIATIONEU NEW ERA ISO 3601...

The German DIN 3771 standard refers to all O-rings as sealing elements for fluid technology and identifies O-Ring sizes by their Inner Diameter (ID) &Cross Section (C/S). This standard has essentially been incorporated into the international standard ISO 3601 which sets the globally relevant O-ring dimensions and uniform rules for installation spaces and the properties of the O-rings. It defines metric O-rings according to the same dimension chart as DIN 3771 while it has been extended to include O-rings in imperial dimensions. ISO 3601 also goes beyond the German standard in the area of materials containing material requirements for O-rings that far exceed those of DIN 3771.

Elastomer materials suitable for certain sealing situations are referred to by their abbreviation according to DIN ISO 1629 and include:

Nitrile/Buna-N (NBR), presently the seal industry’s most widely used elastometer, Ethylene-Propylene (EPM/EPDM) used extensively for outdoor, weather-resistant uses and water applications,

Silicone (MQ, PMQ, VMQ, PVMQ) especially resistant to high, dry heat in primarily static applications,

Neoprene® (Chloroprene) (CR) developed as oil-resistant substitute for natural rubber with resistance to ammonia and Freon® and therefore a superior sealing material for the refrigeration industry,

Fluorocarbon compounds (FPM / Viton®) / (Fluorel®) (FKM) combining high-temperature toughness with wide chemical agent compatibility, and

Fluorosilicone (FVMQ) combining the good high and low temperature stability of silicones with the fuel, oil and solvent resistance of fluorocarbons.

ISO 3601 / DIN 3771 standard O-rings are offered as part of our own (AVIATIONEU NEW ERA) product lines. Sourced from quality manufactuurers they are supplied in competitively priced packs in different materials, sizes, and hardnesses as specified by a two-digit Shore A durometer number, ranging from 20 (soft) to 90 (hard), depending on the type of elastomer.

For additional information please consult the Product Description section or contact us.

AVIATIONEU NEW ERA AS3209 /...

Flurocarbon rubber compounds (also known as FPM, FKM, or trade names Viton®, Fluorel®, Technoflon®, Dai-El® ) combine high-temperature toughness with wide chemical agent compatibility,  and feature excellent resistance to petroleum products and solvents and good high-temperature compression set characteristics. The designations FPM, FKM and Viton® very often cause confusion although they all relate to one single base material. FPM is the international abbreviation according to DIN/ISO, FKM is the short form for the fluoroelastomer category according to the American standard ASTM while Viton® is the registered trade mark of DuPont Performance Elastomers.

M83248 series Flurocarbon rubber o-rings feature an extremely high fuel and heat resistance and they ideally suited for aircraft fuel system applications. These o-rings feature a high temperature resistance, excellent resistance to acids, fuels, mineral and vegetable oils and greases, aliphatic, aromatic and chlorinated hydrocarbons, non-flammable hydraulic fluids (HFD) and many organic solvents and chemicals, low swelling in ASTM oil No. 1, and IRM 902 and IRM 903, excellent resistance to aging and ozone as well as low gas permeability and low compression set.

Flurocarbon rubber o-rings are often used in place of those made by Nitrile rubber (NBR) also known as Buna-N, presently the seal industry’s most widely used elastometer. When it comes to selecting Buna (NBR) vs. Flurocarbon (Viton®)  for sealing applications, the selected material should be selected on the basis of the intended application. Viton and Buna are two durable, elastomer materials and they are both commonly used in sealing applications for O-rings and gaskets.

M83248 series Flurocarbon rubber o-rings are offered as part of our own (AVIATIONEU NEW ERA) product lines. Sourced from quality manufactuurers they are supplied in competitively priced packs in different sizes.

For additional information Flurocarbon amd Nitrile/Buna-N materials please consult the Product Description section or contact us.

MS/AMS/SAE Packings,...

Preformed packings are basically a type of O-ring providing effective sealing over wide ranges of pressure, temperature, and movement, with the advantage of sealing pressure in both directions and reducing friction and wear on moving parts. They are used to prevent leaks and improve aircraft performance. The packings are formed prior to shipping and they are supplied ready to use. Compared to form-in-place gaskets, they offer easy installation without sacrifising performance. Typically made of a slightly flexible material that can be compressed to create a better seal.

The selection of a specific O-ring is based on a variety of factors, including fluid media resistance, temperature range, hardness, durability, gland size, static or dynamic application, etc.

An extensive selection of preformed packings to choose from can be supplied as part of OEM brands or sourced from quality manufacturers and offered as part of our own (AVIATIONEU NEW ERA) product lines. AVIATIONEU NEW ERA AN Close...

Close tolerance bolts, designed with a greater emphasis on measurement accuracy than other types of bolts, are commonly used in the aerospace manufacturing industry. They are threaded fasteners with a shank and head and a tolerance of just +0.000, -0.0005 inch as an acceptable range of variance. The shank is threaded, thus allowing them to be driven into a threaded hole. They intend to eliminate problems appearing when using traditional bolts which have a greater acceptable range of variance. Close tolerance bolts have closer shank tolerances than that of traditional bolts and fit more securely in threaded holes. For some fastening applications, traditional bolts may suffice. For sensitive fastening applications in which precision is required, close tolerance bolts are typically used. When selecting close tolerance instead of traditional bolts the drive type should be considered. Most close tolerance bolts have a recess within their head that supports a specific bit, such as a Phillips head bit. Regarding their threading, all close tolerance bolts, as well as traditional bolts, have threading. But the way in which the threading is designed may vary. Some bolts have more threading on their shank than others, and some bolts have finer threading than others.

Close tolerance bolts are offered in different materials with high-carbon steel being a common material used in their construction.

Army & Navy (AN) close tolerance bolts are offered as part of our own labelled (AVIATIONEU NEW ERA) lines of fasteners. They are sourced from quality manufacturers and structured in different series (AN 173/174/175/176/178/180).

AVIATIONEU NEW ERA...

Restraint systems are today widely used in aerospace, defense, transportation, automotive, construction and many other industries. Attached to an anchorage device by means of a suitable lanyard they are used as personal protective equipment to prevent persons from falling or safely holding them at a specific position. Safety seatbelts and shoulder harnesses are considered primary restraint systems because of their vital role in their users' safety. Those used on general aviation or civil aircraft include different types such as traditional 2-Point or 3-Point restraints which protect air, flight crews and passengers.3-Point restraints are used on modern automobiles while 4-Point restraints are encountered on racing vechicles.

Current listing includes a range of complete assemblies of safety seatbelts and shoulder harnesses, individual components and their mounting hardware. They are suitable for use in many non-certifed aircraft applications like ultra-lights or experimental aircraft, on cars or trucks, racing vehicles and many other applications. Sourced from quality suppliers they are offered in different materials, types and colors depending on the offered product. Cargo tie-down products are also included in this listing. For certified aircraft restraint systems please refer to our respective listings.

Internal Wrenching (Allen)...

Screws, bolts and nuts are standard fastening hardware widely used in a range of applications.

Internal wrenching (also known as Allen) fasteners are threaded fasteners. Screws and bolts have a drive recess within the head allowing the insertion of an internal wrench for their installation or removal. Allen socket set screws are blind (headless) fasteners with an internal hex drive offered in different styles (regular cap screw and flat and button type) while Allen nuts are cylindrical nuts internally threaded on one side with an Allen socket on the other. These fasteners are produced by different manufacturers and come in different styles, inch or Metric sizes, materials, finishes,  and coarse or fine threadings. They are offered as OEM parts or parts of AVIATIONEU NEW ERA product lines. Sold in pieces or packs of specified number of pieces per pack as designated by the number after the letters "PK" in the product reference code (SKU).
