PPG AEROSPACE® Desothane® HS coatings are the leading choice for new commercial aircraft. They include low VOC exterior topcoats fully approved by major OEMs, come in a complete range of colors and a wide range of system options and feature a high quality surface finish, excellent application characteristics and a superior UV resistance and color stability. Topcoats
PPG AEROSPACE® PRC-Desoto® 529K002 High-Temperature Epoxy Topcoat. Can withstand an operating temperature of up to 204 deg C (400 deg F). Used on aircraft over high-temperature coatings such as 519X303 and 825-009.

PPG AEROSPACE® 03W127A Polyurethane Topcoat. 03 Series are chemically cured, two-component, polyurethane topcoats intended for use on exterior application on aircraft and aerospace equipment. When used over properly applied commercial or military primers, they provide excellent protection against weathering, humidity and salt spray. They feature good gloss and color retention, compatibility with many types of spray equipment and resistance to hydraulic fluids, lubricating oils, JP-5 fuel and water. Offered in Fed Std 595C # 17925 Gloss White color.
Primers
PPG AEROSPACE® PRC-Desoto®519X303 Epoxy Primer can be used over aluminum and composite surfaces in wide range of conditions. Works well with all current non-electrostatic spray equipments. Cures at room temperature to eliminate need for added process steps. Thinner component has VOC level of 820 grams per liter and curing solution has 744 grams per liter. Mixing ratio of base, activator and thinner is 3:1:2.

PPG AEROSPACE® PRC-Desoto® 513X419 Military Epoxy Polyamide Primer. High solids, chemical and solvent resistant military epoxy primer coating. It is used over aluminum and composite surfaces prior to top coating. Compatible with Desothane® HS topcoats. Features an excellent adhesion and corrosion resistance and a service temperature -54°C to 177°C (-65°F to 350°F). Qualified to: MCS 9053 Type 1 Class 1 Grade 1, RBO 125-014 Grade B and MIL-PRF-23377 Type I Class C2. Compatible with the following topcoat specifications: DMS 2115, MIL-PRF-85285, DPM 6330 and MMS 420.
PPG AEROSPACE® P99 Wash Primer. P99 is a two pack chromated ambient curing wash primer designed for the protection of aircraft exteriors. It provides high resistance to filiform corrosion, excellent adhesion to polyurethane primers and adhesion to a variety of light alloys and steel. P99 is qualified to AIMS 04-04-012/04-04-026/04-04-054, AMS 3095, DGQT 1.7.0.0143, MDL 5038 and other specifications. Compatible with AIMS 04-04-001/04-04-002/04-04-038 primer specifications.
PPG AEROSPACE® Desoprime™ HS CA7233 Military Epoxy Primer. High solids corrosion, chemical, and solvent resistant, military epoxy primer used on the exterior of aircraft. CA7233 has excellent adhesion to a variety of substrates and exhibits a high degree of Skydrol resistance. Compatible with Desothane® HS topcoats, passes the rain erosion test and has a service temperature -54°C to 177°C (-65°F to 350°F). Meets specifications MCS 9053 - Type 1 Class 1 Grade 1&2 - HONEYWELL, MIL-PRF-23377 - Type I Class C2 - NAVAIR.
PPG AEROSPACE® 02Y040A Yellow Epoxy Primer. High solids, chemically cured, strontium chromated primer which provides corrosion, chemical and solvent resistance. It is compatible with MIL-PRF-85285 polyurethane topcoats for protection of military aircraft exteriors. Corrosion inhibiting, resistant to immersion in hydraulic fluids, lubricating oils, phosphate ester based hydraulic fluids, Skydrol® hydraulic fluid and distilled water. Provides excellent adhesion. Qualified to MIL-PRF-23377 Type I Class C2, RBO 125-014 and MCS9053 Type I Class 1 Grade 1 specifications. 02Y040A is compatible with the topcoat specifications: DMS 2115, MIL-PRF-85285, MIL-PRF-22750 & MMS 420. Also available as high-solids epoxy primer in yellow (02Y040C) and green (02Y040B) colors.
Coating Removal, Pre-Paint & Other Products
PPG Aerospace offers over 25 different paint and coating removal products, each formulated to maximize efficiencies for specific aerospace and defense maintenance procedures. PPG Aerospace product lines include: pre-cleaners and wipe solvents, environmentally preferred strippers, methylene chloride strippers, corrosion removers and brighteners, conversion coatings and adhesion promoters (see PPG product brochure).
PPG (Eldorado )PR-3500 (produced by MCGEAN® Cee-Bee®) is a high-performance, extremely fast acting solvent based, viscous stripper which blisters and removes most coating systems in minutes. Used to strip aircraft primers, epoxy, polyurethane, and other organic coatings from metal surfaces. Contains the action-enhancing properties of phenol and the corrosion inhibiting properties of chromate. Approved to MIL-R81294D, AMS 1375, USAF Tech Order 1-1-8, Boeing D6-17487, Douglas, CSD #1, Chinese Aviation Authority ARP 1755. Product benefits include its safety for use with aluminum, cadmium, magnesium, ferrous alloys, titanium and high strength steel metals and low vapor toxicity. Contains phenol and sodium chromate and has a neutral pH.
PPR IS-213 Polyurethane Reducer. Qualified to MIL-T-81772 Type I, it can be used to improve spray characteristics and film appearance of polyurethane topcoats. IS-213 is compatible with polyurethane topcoats qualified to MIL-PRF-85285 and other similar material specifications.
