JOHN HOGG is a market leader in fuel marking & speciality chemical technology. Their extensive portfolio includes regulatory fuel dyes and markers to help fight governments against tax evasion and fraudulent use of rebated & subsidised fuels, and oil companies to secure product integrity across the supply chain, speciality dyes such as solvent dyes for lubricants or Non-Destructive Testing (NDT) dyes for detection of cracks or defects in metal & ceramic surfaces as well as fluorescent leak detection dyes for final QC tests.
Fuel dyes and fuel markers are both additives used to differentiate fuels based on tax, regulation, or quality, with dyes providing visual color and markers offering chemical identification.
JOHN HOGG Dyeguard® Anti-Theft solvent dyes for fuels provide a simple, effecive way to protect on-site fuel by creating a visible deterrent & aiding identification. Available in liquid and powder forms and colouring capabilities. Solvent powder dyes are extremely pure (98%+ dye content). Typical application levels would be 10-100 ppm. The powdered dyes require pre-dissolving in a small quantity of fuel. This concentrated solution can be added to the bulk to achieve the desired shade.
Anti-theft fuel dyes can be sold worldwide, provided all relevant international and national regulations are met. The export process must adhere to a complex web of chemical regulations and local fuel laws, which vary by country.
Shipment of these products in liquid form is governed by international transport regulations for dangerous goods, such as ADR (road), IMDG (marine), and IATA (air freight) standards. Respective products in powder form are not HAZMAT regulated.
