Varnishes are materials widely used for covering surfaces for decorative and protective purposes.Different varnishes are offered to meet specific application requirements. Traditional Lacquers have been and are still used for woodworking applications. Conversion Varnishes (CV), aka catalyzed conversion varnishes or catalyzed varnishes, are commonly used on woodworks but also for other applications in place of traditional lacquers and other finishes. They are lacquers containing a hardening agent added to the varnish prior to painting, providing additional durability when combined with the heat-curing process. A conversion varnish is chemically cured, fast-drying and consists of 40-60% solids. Polyurethane finishes are also used as they are often considered highly durable finishes. Polyurethane can resist scratching, heat, alkali, and acids and wear better than many other finishes, including lacquer.
Varnishes are offered by their respective manufacturers under their own brands in different packaging options. For additional information please consult the supplied documentation and information included in the Product Description section.
