RED BOX® AVIATION, part of the LPA Group, offers a comprehensive range of aircraft ground power equipment including ground power units, aircraft start power units, aircraft connectors and more.Their ground power range or aircraft GPU, are designed for the civilian and military markets, while the majority of their products are also NATO codified.
RED BOX® AVIATION aircraft hand portable start power units (packs) are included among the most powerful hand portable packs worldwide. they are based on military aerospace technology to achieve a very high power to weight ratio. These power packs are designed for starting of piston, turboprop or turbine aircraft and helicopters in the field or in remote locations while RED BOX® units may also be carried safely on board all aircraft. The power packs are “all weather” units and being modular, can be used in single or dual format. They can be used or stored in any orientation, even inverted. Cells used are cleared as non-hazardous cargo for carriage in the aircraft. They are able to operate in extremes of temperature and have excellent standby characteristics. They are maintenance free and do not require cycling. They can be re-celled “on condition” at any RED BOX® service center and are designed to offer years of repeated service. In addition to aviation, these highly portable units can be used with Armored Fighting vehicles and Military equipment. They can be recharged from the automatic charging system, which is supplied in the package, or from any vehicle using a suitable interface.

The KLIXON® 7277 series circuit breakers are the commercial grade version of the 7274 series circuit breakers which are small, lightweight, low amperage devices that are specifically designed to protect aircraft/aerospace cable and components in airborne vehicles and equipment. The KLIXON® 7277 series circuit breakers are physically and electrically identical to the 7274-2 military grade circuit breakers, with the exception that the 7277 series has wider calibration limits. Klixon® 7277 series breakers have been designed for applications that do not require the tighter performance characteristics and approvals of 7277-2 series military circuit breakers.
Originally developed as an alternative to slow blow fuses, the trip–free 7277 series breakers are used extensively as primary electrical circuit protection on general aviation aircraft. The wider calibration limits of the 7277 has also resulted in applications including protection for data processing and telecommunications equipment, computers, flight simulators, construction, material handling and other industrial, electronic equipment. Suitable for use on trainer / simulator applications where all breakers are operated on low ampere control current, different ampere rating inserts (amp ratings on top of push button) can be ordered.
KLIXON® 7277 series circuit breakers' features include:
Since its introduction in 1994, the B&C SPECIALITY PRODUCTS BC320 Starter for Continental engines has established an impressive service record as the ONLY starter design on the market that has provided reliable, long-term service for these engines.
Suitable for installation on Continental engines (C-75, C-85, C-90, C-145-2, O-200, IO-240, O-300-A, -B, and -C, and GO-300-A, -B, and -C) it solves all the problems that other starter designs have had: worn-out clutches, broken pinions, nagging oil leaks, and catastrophic failure modes. Featuring the durability of all-steel gears and heavy-duty ball-bearings, and the efficiency of a high-torque series-wound motor, it provides greater starting torque, while saving 4.3 to 5.2 lbs. over the old key-type and pull-cable type starters (respectively).
The B&C SPECIALITY PRODUCTS BC320 Starter is STC-PMA approved for use in certificated aircraft, and is available with or without the STC (*). Two installation kits are also available: one for replacing a key-type starter (Installation Kit 501-1), the other for replacing a pull-cable type starter (Installation Kit 501-3). For key-type starters, before installing the BC320, you will need to remove the needle bearing pressed into the engine case & install the supplied plug in its place. For pull-cable starters, before installing the BC320, you will need to cut off the 9/16 steel shaft that is installed in your engine case.
Other versions of BC320 Starter for 12v and 24v electrical systems (BC320-2, 12v Counter-Rotating or the 24v BC320-3) are also available.
(*) For the issue of the STC, the aircraft make and model, aircraft registration and serial number are required.
