The ZEFTRONICS R15100 Rev A is a 14VDC solid state Alternator Controller (Voltage Regulator) designed for use with 12VDC aircraft alternators. This unit provides Voltage Regulation, Field induction protection, Low/High Voltage indicator pin, and self-protecting field-to-ground short protection, as well as an on-unit field fault/function indicator. The indicator pins allows a light connected to it and bus to come on whenever the alternator switch is open, the OV sensor is defective (open), or the wire to pin S is open. The unit will turn itself off and turn on a RED light if it senses that the alternator field or field wire is shorted to ground. When the ground fault is removed or repaired, the unit with come back on line (with a GREEN light) once the alternator switch is cycled. If the wire from the alternator battery terminal to pin A is broken, the on-unit light will be OFF. The R15100 Rev A has two mounting holes and fully pin and function compatible with the Cessna equivalent unit.
The R15V00 Rev A replaces:
CESSNA P/N: C611001-0201, -0101, -0102
BEECH P/N 33-380010
ELECTRODELTA P/N VR 600
PFT/LAMAR P/N: DGR 6
FORD P/N: D4FF-10316-BA, CA.
Product Features/Specifications:
14 Volt System
SE - Single Engine
Type "B" Alternator System
Remote Voltage Sensing (RS)
Voltage Regulation (VR), Pulse Width Modulated. The Voltage Regulator with Pulse Width Modulated (PWM) field control keeps the bus voltage constant by controlling the alternator’s field current: increasing it when the system load increases and decreasing it when the load drops. Voltage Regulation: 14.2V + 0.2V. Max Field Current: 5A.
Over-Voltage Protection (OVP). The OV Protector (OVP) deactivates (turns off) the Voltage Regulator and the alternator if the bus voltage exceeds 16V to protect sensitive avionics equipment and the battery.
OV & Field-to-Ground Indication (OVI). A warning light (Ground Fault (Field-to-Ground Short) Indicator, GFI) connected between the white wire and ground comes on to warn the pilot of the bus voltage exceeding the OV level or alternator Field-to-Ground Fault Protection (GFP).
Low Voltage Sensing (LVS)
Low Voltage Indicator Driver Output (LVI). If the alternator’s field shorts to ground, the field-to-ground short protector will deactivate the Voltage Regulator, and switch on the unit’s Red field-to-ground short TSL, and the GFP/ OV indicator on the instrument panel.
Trouble-Shooting Light (TSL). The TSL (on the unit) is designed to alert the user to the condition of the Alternator / ACU system.
Increased Regulator life
Reduced panel lights flicker
Warns the Pilot of Low & OV Conditions.
Protects system loads against overexcited alternator
Indicates OV or field ground fault problem
Protects against grounded alternator field
Identifies grounded field
Trouble-shooting Light on unit (TSL), Reduces trouble-shooting time
Cockpit Instrument Panel Fault Indicator Light Output (CPI)
