MGL AVIONICS XTreme full featured instrument series include an Electronic Flight Instrument System (XTreme-EFIS) with navigation/autopilot capabilities and anEngine Monitoring System (XTreme-EMS). Their light weight, small size and high level of functionality makes them an excellent choice for use in non-certified aircraft. Both instruments fit a standard 3 1/8” (80mm) instrument panel hole. All information is displayed in an easy to read format on a high resolution wide viewing angle 4.3” sunlight readable color display. The XTreme-EFIS includes all the functions of the XTreme-EMS version. It a compact, multifunction electronic flight information system intended as a main flight instrument in smaller aircraft or as a backup/secondary flight instrument in larger aircraft. It integrates all the necessary functionality to replace several flight and engine monitoring instruments.The XTreme-EMS is a compact universal engine monitor replacing several engine monitoring instruments. All engine sensors are connected to a RDAC (Remote data acquisition unit) normally mounted behind the aircraft firewall. A simple CAN communication link is then necessary to connect the XTreme-EMS to the RDAC.

Connectors are used on electrical wiring harnesses and are essentially enclosures (i.e., shells) which house contacts with wires. The electrical connection into the system at the contact termination is either a soldered or crimped connection (the latter removable from the connector with the use of a special tool). The shell and insert may be moisture resistant or a hermetic seal. The inserts in each connector must be oriented for correct mating, and the shell or insert usually contains a keying feature to prevent miss-mating that could damage the connector or result in an electrical problem. 

Connectors can be of a Plug (“male”) or Receptacle (“female”) type. Receptables are also termed as sockets or jacks. Plugs have prolonged connecting pins which fit into the mating sockets. Receptables have mounting features such as a flange with holes. Connectors used in aircraft are mostly those complying with Military Standards (MIL-STD) and Military Specifications (MIL-SPEC).

This line of FAA PMA'd  miniature engine gauges from Mitchell is ideal for a wide variety of general aviation applications. They measure nearly 1-1/2 inches square and are stackable. The modular design allows them to be plugged from the front of the panel. The units are internally lighted. Complete standard panels are also available.

FAA Approved. If individual gauges are ordered, appropriate backplate with pigtail must be ordered to mount and connect the gauge. If more than one gauge ordered to be mounted together, a special order cluster that requires custom backplates.

The KANNAD 406 AS (P/N S1823502-03) is a aeronautical survival beacon. Thanks to its small size and light weight, the Kannad 406 AS fits easily inside a liferaft. It is supplied with a floating collar.

The KANNAD 406 AS is qualified by the French Civil Aviation in Europe with JTSO-2C91a & JTSO-2C126 and by FAA with TSO-C91a & TSO-C126 applied to “survival” beacons.

The ELT is programmed with either the aircraft tail number, a serial number or the aircraft operator designator. It can be installed inside an aircraft on a mounting bracket or in a carry-off bag (both on options).

The mounting bracket option includes a locking pin to avoid accidental activation before ELT removal. The locking pin can be ordered separately with the carry off version.

The ELT can be fitted with a "Water Switch Sensor" to be activated automatically when in contact with water. A buzzer and a led indicate activation.

An integrated “self test” checks the main functions of the beacon. The test result is given by the led flashing sequence.

The new OROLIA-KANNAD INTEGRA 406 GPS ELT is a major step forward in the development of ELT technology and aircraft safety. Major benefits over standard ELTs include  a fail-safe automatically activated system for transmission of both the unique identification and GPS position in case of ditching of the aircraft or a crash landing as well as the ability for the pilot/ crew to remove the ELT from a downed aircraft. The AVIASPORT indicators (gauges) are reliable, accurate and solid, combining the accumulated experience of more than twenty years with the latest technology  They have been designed for ROTAX engines and their display areas are divided into red, green and yellow zones in line with Rotax limits. They use a pointer that turns 240º or 320º, providing high resolution. AVIASPORT range of gauges includes CHT, EGT, tachometers, oil and fuel pressure, oil and coolant temperature, fuel level, voltmeters & ammeters and offered with casings of different sizes: 80mm; 57mm and 52mm.

AVIASPORT Oil Pressure indicators (gauges) are designed specifically for ROTAX 912/914 aircraft engines with painted red, green, and yellow gauge markings. are available in two sizes: 52 and 57 mm. They are offered in two unit versions for readings in PSI or Bars. They work with different pressure sensors depending on these installed in ROTAX 912/914 engines: the VDO sensor (Before September 2008) or the 4..20mA sensor (after 2008).

They incorporate tremendous advances in presentation, precision, and reliability.With a proven track record for dependability and ruggedness, the attractive new extended color schemes and ultra-precise spherical presentation (eliminating old parallax problems) they set a new standard for safety.These gyros provide a more accurate IFR reference for the beginning instrument pilot or a Cat II captain. A new three phase motor/inverter is designed into the gyro enabling it to operate at lower temperatures which extends to useful life. The instruments employ a new, high precision air erection system which provide erection torque for maintaining a proper vertical alignment reference. The erection air is supplied by a turbine pump which is integrally coupled with the gyro motor. Through maximum utilization of unitized construction the design is free of resonant frequencies below 100 HZ and thus cannot respond to low frequency disturbances which can cause dither and premature wear out of the unit. The display portion of the instruments has a directly coupled roll movement, and a pitch movement mechanism identical to that of the field proven vacuum gyros produced by R.C.Allen since 1966. A "pull to cage" spring type force limited mechanism assures immediate alignment and stability whenever power has been applied to the gyro, a feature non-existent on vacuum driven gyros. These artificial horizons have a hybrid inverter which converts the aircraft DC power to the required voltage and frequency for motor operation. All units have a pull cage knob and a power failure flag that drops into view whenever the supply voltage is lost or when the voltage has dropped below a level of acceptable for proper operation of the gyro. Slip indicator can be added to satisfy FAA AC91-75 upon request. Available in 14V or 28V voltage versions with fixed or movable pointer, lighted or unlighted, power failure flag, panel tilt and optional inclinometer. Used on most major civil and military programs, RADIALL™ DSX Series ARINC 404/SAE-AS81659 Connectors offer a proven solution to electrically connect equipment rack to avionics equipment. The DSX series are multipin, rack and panel style connectors designed to electrically connect equipment racks to avionics equipment. Typically the plug is installed on the avionics rack and the receptacle on the equipment box. Applications include commercial and military aircraft and helicopters, railway, radar systems, power circuits, in-flight electronic instrumentation and flight simulators.

Different DSX Series versions are outlined below:

DSX SAE AS81659, available in four shell sizes (1, 2, 3 & 4) with environmental and non-environmental versions as well as EMI/RFI options to improve shielding effectiveness. DSX SAE AS81659 connectors cover both civil and military applications.

DSX ARINC 404 shell type A and B are the original connectors, mainly dedicated today to commercial applications.

DSX-F and DSX-K receptacles, RADIALL™ solution for front release front removable (FR/FR) contacts to facilitate installation and maintenance. Fully intermateable with ARINC 404 type B and SAE AS81659 plugs, they offer the same characteristics as SAE AS81659 connectors.

Static ports are located on the side of an aircraft and function as small air inlets. Their purpose is to measure static air pressure, also known as barometric pressure. The pressure within the static port is collected and then utilized by the altimeter and the vertical speed indicator (VSI). Different static ports are offered, both certified and non certified (the latter with an intended use in homebuilt/experimental aircraft).

Several offered non certified static ports are briefly described below. For certified static ports plese refer to their separate product presentations.

Aluminum Cessna Type

Aluminum single engine Cessna type static port. Externally mounted through a 19/64” hole. Can be used on fabric, composite or aluminum. No need for rivets. 1-3/8” dia.x1” depth.

Aluminum 15160

Aluminum static port for external mounting through 1/4" diameter hole in side of the fuselage. Base has 1/8" NPT female port for connecting to static line (polyethylene fitting included). Installation with 3/32" diameter flush rivets.

Aluminum 15161

Aluminum static port for external mounting through 1/4" diameter hole in side of the fuselage. Base has 1/8" NPT female port for connecting to static line. Installation with 3/32" diameter flush rivets.

Aluminum 15176

KANARDIA diverse family of non-certified gauges for use in ultralight aeroplanes, autogyros and helicopters includes different RPM, CHT, EGT and oil/temperature engine gauges. 

KANARDIA INDU Series round RPM gauges are offered as standalone (master) or as slave gauges. The slave version requires an engine monitoring unit (DAQU) to be present on the bus. KANARDIA INDU Series round standalone Fuel Pressure, Oil Temperature and Oil Pressure indicators are available for 57 mm (2.25") and 80 mm (3.15") standard panel hole diameters with same sizes and weight power characteristics as those of CHT/EGT gauges.

HONEYWELL BENDIX KING® KNI-582 Radio Magnetic Indicator (RMI) provides bearing information to either ADF or VOR stations by means of two pointers each of which is read against compass card. The KNI-582 RMI requires inputs from ADF, HSI and NAV receivers and combines three data points on one indicator. The current aircraft heading from an HSI is shown on the card. The magnetic headings to VOR and NDB stations are shown by the twin needles. By combining all this information visually, less interpretation is required thus enhancing overall situational awareness, something especially helpful when the workload is high.

The DIALIGHT 800/801-series MS25041 are high-quality Miniature press-to-test indicators with built-in bulb testing device and an adjustable dimmer (801 series). They use T 1 3/4 bulbs with midget flange base such as GE-330 (12V) or GE-327 (24V) bulbs but LED replacement bulbs can also be used (*).

The FLYdat has been specially developed by TL ELEKTRONIC for BRP-ROTAX® Aircraft Engines for indicating and storing of engine operation data. The unit  is furnished with 8 sensor input ports, which can be occupied variably according to engine type.

The operating data is permanently compared with the engine specific operating limit. If the signalled operating data exceeds the stored operating limit, the FLYdat will warn the pilot. In addition all the input ports are equipped with a maximum alarm, responding when picked-up value is equal or above the stored limit. The FLYdat keeps the pilot informed on the following actual readings. Besides the topical data, the FLYdat shows also the hours of operation.
