ALLFAST FASTENING SYSTEMS® Blind Rivet Product Range
ALLFAST® Bulbing Type Blind Rivets
Four unique bulbing type rivet families suited for thin sheet applications.
Allmax
Four-piece fastener, consisting of a pin, sleeve, lock collar and washer, provides dependable installations. The Allmax performs well in all metallic structures including thin sheet applications.
The shear ring design of the pin creates a bulbing of the sleeve that bears against the blind side of the joint and adjusts for the thickness of the material being joined. The collar provides an inspectable, mechanical lock ensuring positive installation. The washer allows the fastener to be installed with simplified tooling across multiple diameter and head style parts.
The Allmax rivet is available in 4, 5 and 6 nominal diameters, as well as 4, 5, and 6 oversize (1/64”) diameters. This fastener is available in 4 sleeve/pin material combinations: Aluminum/Steel, Aluminum/Cres, Monel/Cres and Cres/Cres. This fastener is supplied with multiple sleeve finish options. The Allmax is available in multiple head styles: Universal, 100 degree Flush, 100 degree Reduced Flush and Unisink.

Supermax
Four piece fastener, consisting of a pin, sleeve, lock collar, bulb former and washer, provides consistent bulb-type installations with excellent sheet take up performance. The Supermax performs well in all metallic structures.
The design of the pin and bulb former creates a bulbing of the sleeve that bears against the blind side of the joint and adjusts for the thickness of the material being joined. The bulb former design allows for load to be applied to the blind side of the joint throughout the installation cycle, removing gaps and providing excellent sheet take up properties. This fastener is preferred for applications where gapping between sheets must be removed. The collar provides an inspectable, mechanical lock ensuring positive installation. The washer allows the fastener to be installed with simplified tooling across multiple diameter and head style parts.
The Supermax rivet is available in 4, 5 and 6 oversize (1/64”) diameters. The Supermax is available in Universal and 100 degree Flush head styles.

AF1900
General purpose bulbed blind rivets performing well in all metallic structures.
The AF1919, protruding head, and AF1921, 100 degree flush head, are general purpose bulbed blind rivets. The rivet assembly is comprised of a sleeve, pin, and lock ring. The rivet assembly is available with a drive anvil washer for use with blunt nose installation tooling.
The AF1919 and AF1921 rivets are used in general purpose metallic and non-metallic applications. These rivets may be installed in thin and thick sheet applications where only one side of the work may be accessible. The AF1919 and AF1921 rivets are available in 1/8”, 5/32” and 3/16” nominal diameters. These rivets provide excellent hole filling and a generous blind side foot print.
The AF1919 and AF1921 rivets are available in three sleeve/pin material combinations: Aluminum/Aluminum, Monel/Cres, and Cres/Cres.
The rivet is installed using a single action pneumatic-hydraulic installation tool. The following describes the installation sequence. The rivet is inserted into the work piece. The installation tool engages the spindle of the rivet and pulls. Forces created by pulling the spindle are reacted through the nose of the tool to the collar and rivet sleeve. A detail on the spindle causes the sleeve to expand, filling the hole as it pulls through. Continued pulling causes the spindle head to contact the terminal end of the sleeve forming the blind side bulb, which bears against the work. Once the lock grooves on the spindle and the sleeve are properly aligned, the lock collar is driven to occupy this volume. The spindle is now mechanically locked in place and can no longer translate causing the pulling load to increase. A notch located between the pull portion and the rivet portion of the spindle causes the two to separate at this load. The rivet installation is complete.
The AF1919 and AF1921 rivets are commercially available as NAS1919 and NAS1921 respectively. The procurement specification for these rivets is NAS1900.

Visu-Lok® Fasteners
The Visu-Lok® family of fasteners, designed for use in metal structures addressing the need for cost-effective one-sided fastener installation for decades. The basic design of the Visu-Lok® is based on the nut and bolt principles. However, the Visu-Lok®, unlike conventional nut and bolt pairings, is fully installed and verified from one side of the structure. Key Features:
High strength fastening system available to 112 KSI shear
Ease of installation further simplified by the drive nut concept
Simple wrenching motion installation provides superior limited-access capability
Self-locking device resists loosening in severe vibration environments
Self-inspecting – installations are fully verified from one side of the structure
Available in a wide range of materials, sizes, and head styles, including oversize and close tolerance interference fit configurations to suit most applications
Visu-Lok® is covered by NAS standards and available in either unified or metric sizes
Easily adapted to robotic or automated installation.
Composi-Lok® Fasteners
Composi-Lok® fasteners are industry standard for blind fastening of composite joints.
Designed for use in composite laminates but equally well-suited to metal structures, the Composi-Lok® family of fasteners provides superior joint integrity and approved on virtually all composite airframe programs throughout the world.
Composi-Lok II fasteners incorporate Monogram’s drive nut concept, further simplifying the installation process by incorporating a disposable hex drive nut. The hex drive nut provides a positive fastener-to-tool engagement and eliminates the tendency for flush-style fastener recesses to “cam out” during installation. Since the drive nut is common to a variety of diameters and all head styles, only three nose pieces are required to install the entire Composi-Lok® line. Nose pieces never wear out, and the disposable magnetic drive nut stays on the discarded pintail after installation, permitting easier retrieval and minimizing the chances of small pintails finding their way into F.O.D. critical areas. Composi-Lok IIa and Composi-Lok3 variations also incorporate the drive nut feature.
Composi-Loks® can also be supplied with Monogram’s Double Cylindrical Drive (DCD) system for automated or robotic assemblies. The DCD system provides a common tool cylindrical interface regardless of head style, fastener grip, or diameter, matching that of the drive mechanism, thus eliminating orientation problems.
Composi-Lok IIa fasteners, with their unique design characteristics, address the inherent thickness variations of composite material stack-ups. These common variations make proper grip measurement practices imperative to assure fastener performance and joint integrity. Compared to the Composi-Lok II, the Composi-Lok IIa fasteners offer a wider, more tolerant grip range, accommodating a total of 0.100" of variation (0.025" over and under the standard range). This extended grip capacity enables them to function properly even when installed .050″ beyond their prescribed grip accommodation with added assurance of joint integrity in limited out-of-grip conditions for composite structures with inherent material thickness variations or damage of the composite material.
The more recent Composi-Lok3 is the newest cost-saving design in the Composi-Lok series. It is shave-free, providing the performance and reliability of Composi-Lok® with the added benefits of a flush break to deliver lower installed costs and increased productivity. Designed to afford a flush to below-flush break-off, the Composi-Lok3 requires no secondary shaving, milling, or grinding operations to meet aerodynamic flushness requirements. All the performance and reliability of our Composi-Lok is available with a flush break-off. Without compromise on mechanical properties, high preloads, or large blind side head formation, there are savings on tooling expense as well as the time and cost of shaving while productivity is increased with labor dedicated to other tasks.
