Modular Drill Motors & Attachments (JMD)

JIFFY® AIR TOOL pioneered the “Modular Tool” platform for drill motors and attachments (JMD). JIFFY® motors can accept a wide variety of drill attachments to meet limited access requirements.JIFFY® Pistol Grip Straight style drilling tools are offered in models with forward running, reverse running and reversible functions, safety trigger option, 250 – 20,000 RPM, and 0.3 – 1.5 HP.  Available Thread Sizes: 1/4-28, 10-32, 9/32-40, 5/16-24, 3/8-24 and 7mm Collet.

Modular Fastener Installation Tools (JMI)

With JIFFY® modular fastener installation platform installation motors can accept a wide variety of install attachments to meet limited access requirements. The latter are available in 17° indexable or fixed, 20° indexable or fixed, “L”, and straight install type offered in various series correlating to the torque capacity of the fastener. Their versatility is further enhanced by the three offered drive styles: a socket and key system,a flush gear with a key and a hex through with no key control to allow access to confined space installations.

In addition to the modular installation tools, ratchet install tools in straight, 17° and 20° head styles are also available. Their pneumatic ratchet wrenches can be used for HI-SHEAR fastener (*) installation quickly, easily, and efficiently. Their new & improved spring loaded hex tip holder allows the use of special hex tips that will hold the HI-LOK™ style fastener in place when installing non-interference fasteners. With the new & improved design, hex tips are easier than ever to change and can literally be changed in just a few seconds.JIFFY®  sockets and hex tips (sold separately) can be used with these wrenches.

Gauges (also termed as gages) and gauge scales are widely used for inspection or measurement of correct grip length of  rivet pins, shear lockbolts, structural screws and bolts in aerospave and industrial applications. They ensure correct fastener selection, enhancing structural integrity, simplify the measurement process saving time during assembly, and improve accuracy in maintenance and repair tasks. Made from durable materials for long-lasting use (including high-strength alloys and stainless steel) they come with easy-to-read markings for quick and precise measurement.

Protrusion grip gauges & their assemblies (including apart from the grip gauge a grip gauge slide) can be supplied for use on HI-SHEAR Hi-Lilte®/Hi-Lok®/Hi-Tigue® Series of fasteners or those from PCC CHERRY AEROSPACE. 

These gauges are offered as sets of blades with different color markings for different nominal diameter sizes in Inch or Metric (mm) systems with the letter "M"in their part number denoting a Metric version. For example, those with 2-1522 part number, include five stainless steel blades (5/32", 3/16", 1/4", 5/16", and 3/8") on a keychain for portability, and can be used  with HI-SHEAR Hi-Lok®/ Hi-Tigue® fasteners ensuring proper pin protrusion for safe aviation fastener applications.Their counterparts, 2-1522HST are suitable for HI-SHEAR Hi-Lilte® fasteners. 

Grip Gauge Scales with or without a slide are also offered with measurement graduations in inches or inches and millimeters. The 269C3 Grip Gauge Scale from PCC CHERRY AEROSPACE, made of high-strength alloy, has been designed for precise grip measurement in various materials in aircraft structures. Can be used with CherryMax® & CherryLok® rivets. Its durable construction ensures long-lasting use, while its clear markings for quick reference, and user-friendly design for easy insertion into prepared holes for reliable readings, simplify the measurement process.

Depending on the selected part & stock conditions, grip gauges & scales for HI-SHEAR and PCC CHERRY AEROSPACE fasteners can be supplied as OEM parts or equivalent parts from other suppliers, such as OMEGA TECHNOLOGIES (separately listed) meeting or exceeding specifications. 

Economy models of gauges for shop rivet heads and rivet lengths are also available from ATS and AVERY TOOLS and can be used for measuring both universal head and flush rivets. Rivet head gauges are offered as a set of four gauges for -3, -4, -5, & -6 rivet sizes permanently stamped on each gauge. Each gauge measures MINIMUM height and MINIMUM diameter of shop heads AFTER setting eliminating guessing if the rivets are properly set, and are color coded with anodized finish. Their respective rivet length gauges measure -3, -4, -5 & -6 rivets and have been designed for checking the length of rivets BEFORE setting.
