AEROSHELL® 100 Series SAE 50 Mineral Aviation Piston Engine Oils are  straight mineral oils blended from selected high viscosity index base oil. They are offered as AEROSHELL® 100 mineral break in oil with no additives, AEROSHELL® W100 mineral ashless dispersant oil for normal use and  AEROSHELL® W100 PLUS mineral ashless dispersant oil with a friction modifier/anti-wear additive package. They are approved for all aviation civil aircraft piston engines. The specially blended high viscosity index base oil in AeroShell oil 100 series oils has been designed to provide effective protection to engine components compared to conventional mineral oils.

AEROSHELL® 100 SAE 50 is to be used when an oil without a dispersant additive is required during the break-in of  new aviation piston engines or those recently overhauled. AEROSHELL® W100 oil includes very small amounts of pour point depressant to improve fluidity at very low temperatures and an anti-oxidant. This helps ensure complete confidence and peace of mind knowing that your aircraft will perform reliably in between scheduled overhauls.

AEROSHELL® 100 Series oils are produced to meet fully the SAE specification J-1966 (Grades SAE 50 respectively).  Furthermore, they have military qualification approval and are listed on the Qualified Products List (QPL) issued by the US Navy and on the Technically Acceptable Products List (TAPL) issued by the UK Ministry of Defence. They are low viscosity, high VI (viscosity index) fluids with excellent low temperature properties, good anti-wear performance, and good chemical stability.

MOBIL™ AERO  HFA is a premium quality fluid that meets the requirements of the U.S. Military specification MIL-H-5606A (obsolete). It has a very high VI and is suitable for use at temperatures down to -54 ˚C (-65 ˚F). While this quality fluid is no longer used by the US Military, it is still used in some older, small private, and small commercial aircraft. It is also used in industrial and commercial equipment requiring good fluidity at very low temperatures, where MOBIL™ AERO  HFA provides long, trouble-free service over a wide range of

operating conditions.

MOBIL™ AERO HF is a premium quality fluid that is approved against the most current version of U.S. Military specification MIL-PRF-5606. It has physical properties very similar to MOBIL™ AERO HFA, and also meets “super-clean” requirements required by modern aircraft hydraulic systems. It is intended primarily for military aircraft. It is also used as a hydraulic fluid for small private and small commercial aircraft, and as a strut fluid in landing gear of large commercial aircraft. Erosion resistance is made possible by a breakthrough anti-erosion additive and acid scavenger included in the formulation. Meets BMS3-11P Type V, Grade B & C specification.

SKYDROL™ 500B-4, the only commercially available standard-density aviation hydraulic fluid offering additionally improved erosion resistance, as it contains the same anti-erosion additive and acid scavenger as LD-4. Meets BMS3-11P Type IV, Class 2 specification.
