Rivets & Rivet Tools

There are different types of rivets. Solid shank rivets are relatively low-cost,  permanently installed fasteners used as structural parts of aircraft applications where reliability and safety count. Such rivets are made in their majority from aluminum alloy and come with rounded (universal) or 100° countersunk heads Other rivet types include a) High-strength structural steel rivets and semi-tubular rivets (also known as tubular rivets) similar to solid rivets, except they have a partial hole (opposite the head) at the tip and b) Blind rivets available in flat head, countersunk head, and modified flush head which are used mainly when access to the joint is available from only one side.

This section includes a wide range of rivets, designed to meet different cost, accessibility, and strength requirements including aluminum alloy solid shank rivets, high-strength structural steel rivets, etc. together with related application tools. Such rivets are offered either as part of their producers' product lines or as part of our own branded (AVIATIONEU NEW ERA) product portfolio. AVIATIONEU NEW ERA are sourced from quality suppliers, manufactured in accordance with international standards and are intended for use in different industrial applications. For additional information please refer to the article on an overview of our fasteners, other supplied documentation, the individual product presentations or contact us.

AVATIONEU NEW ERA Aluminum...

Blind rivets (also commonly referred to as POP Rivets) are mainly used in applications where there is no access to the rear (blind side) of the joint. Rivets have a two-piece construction, the rivet body, shell, or hat and the stem or mandrel. Both the hat and mandrel are pre-assembled and ready to use. Rivets are installed by using a riveting tool to draw the mandrel which causes the body to deform and clamp down on the joint. Upon reaching the designed clamping force, the mandrel snaps and is discarded. A benefit of blind rivets is that they are not material specific and therefore they can be used to combine two different material types together. Furthermore, there is no way to over or under-torque a rivet. If the appropriate diameter and grip range are chosen correctly, the rivet will be installed perfectly every time.

Sourced by quality suppliers, blind rivets offered under our own branded (AVIATIONEU NEW ERA) product lines come in different materials, sizes, military or industrial standards and packing options to meet different application requirements. They are intended for use in a wide range of applications including  aircrafts, ships, submersibles, RVs, trailers,  machinery, small electronics, structural beams and others. Please refer to the individual product presentations to find the rivet which best suits your needs.

AVIATIONEU NEW ERA Metric (M) aluminum alloy/steel rivets with a galvanized surface treatment are produced in accordance with DIN 7337 standard. Appearing sale prices are per pack. For additional information please refer to the supplied documentation or contact us.

HI-SHEAR HI-LOK Rivet Pin...

Delivering high strength controlled preloaded system, the HI-LOK rivet pins by HI-SHEAR CORPORATION, subsidiary of LISI AEROSPACE, are the original and versatile solution for strong and reliable assemblies. These rivet pins are easily installed from one side, by one person, quietly, even is most restricted areas. With a wide range of shapes, materials and coatings, they are suited for most of structural assemblies and are still commonly used in the aerospace industry. They can also be replaced by equivalent HI-LITE rivet pins, the direct evolution of HI-LOK series, for improved weight saving. The latter can be used for clearance, or low interference fit throughout aircraft, from wings to fuselage, in engine fairings, and more. Combined with HI-LITE nuts and collars, they provide up to 13% weight saving compared to the previous HI-LOK generation. Both HI-LOK and HI-LITE rivet pins are also available with ASTER improved recess (HSTR pins) that prevents failure during the assembly process,  especially suited for clearance fit assemblies of composite structures.

ELCO CONSTRUCTION PRODUCTS...

Blind rivets, also called "pop rivets", can be used when access to through-bolt isn’t possible. AVDEL® N (*) protruding head nail rivets by ELCO CONSTRUCTION PRODUCTS are suitable for metal to metal applications.Their body/mandrel is made from different materials: Aluminum/Aluminum, Steel/Steel, Aluminum/Steel or Stainless Steel/Stainless Steel. Aluminum and  18-8 Stainless Steel rivets for high strength and corrosion resistance, are widely used for marine applications such  as non-critical equipment installations on masts, radar towers and other structures with limited or no access to secure washers and nuts. They are ideal for installing deck lights, bimini frame brackets and much more. Rivets are available in a range of diameters and gripping lengths to match the needs of a variety of projects. Installation requires special tool with appropriate die to match mandrel diameter. Contact of dissimilar metals, like for example use of stainless steel rivets to install hardware on to the aluminum spars of a sailboat, should be avoided to guard against galvanic corrosion occurence. If the superior strength of stainless steel rivets is not required, the use of aluminum blind rivets should be considered for non-critical installations. Aluminum rivets can also be used below the waterline together with marine epoxy or Gluvit sealant for waterproofness. AVDEL® N rivets are sold in convenient packs. The number of pieces per pack is specified after the letters "PK" in the product reference number (SKU).
