With a time between overhauls of 2.000 hrs these engines offer more performance at high altitudes while keeping weight at a low level. The BRP-ROTAX® model 914 F2 is suitable for aircraft equipped with a fixed pitch propeller while the model 914 F3 for constant speed propeller is the same as 914 F2  with additionally a drive for hydraulic governor, a cover for sealing of governor flange and a slipper clutch for reduction gear box. The Viking Non-Certified aircraft engines  are based on used Mitsubishi and Honda automobile engines of recent production removed from cars that are uneconomical to repair. Their models come in multiple horsepower ranges (from 90 hp up to 195 hp). All engines are geared, liquid cooled with a fuel injection system.
