AVIATIONEU NEW ERA...

Anchor nuts (aka nutplates or anchor plates) are terms used interchangeably and relate to stamped sheet metal fasteners with an internally threaded tube and a plate with two clearance holes for rivets. They are used in blind mounted panel applications in aerospace and other industrial sectors where hex nuts cannot be used or an attached nut is required for ease of maintenance.

Anchor nuts can be Fixed or Floating, the latter being easier to use due to their built-in nut (threaded hole) able to "float" slightly thus providing a convenient connection point for threaded rods, such as bolts, from the backside. In the case of Fixed anchor nuts, the built-in nut is static (i.e. without the capability to “float”) and the threaded rod must be positioned perfectly over the hole. Self-locking anchor nuts are those with a built-in locking mechanism preventing them from loosening over time from vibrations. They are extensively used in aerospace, automotive, and construction industries.

Depending on their intended application, nutplates conform to different military, aerospace, ISO or other industrial standards such as the German DIN, U.S. (ASME & ASTM, IFI, ANSI), British BS, Japanese JIS and others. They are offered as OEM parts under their respective brands or under our own labelled (AVIATIONEU NEW ERA) product lines intended as cost-effective alternatives to the respective OEM products. Listed in accordance with their standard of compliance, Fixed and Floating nutplates come in different materials (such as steel or CRES & finishes),  in single/double lug configurations and Metric ISO οr Unified thread sizes. There is currently no U.S. Military Standard (MS) specification for Metric nutplates. Depending on the selected product and availability, nutplates can be supplied with a dry film lube specified by the letter "L" in the respective part number. Those with countersunk rivet holes are specified by the letter "K" at the end of the part number.

Sourced from quality manufacturers, AVIATIONEU NEW ERA MS21073/MS21074 series nutplates are fixed self-locking, low height corner, miniature anchor nuts. Those included in MS21073 series are manufactured from cadmium plated carbon steel while the MS21074 nutplates are produced from corrosion resistant steel (CRES). They are available in different Unified thread sizes, with plain or countersunk rivet holes on each side and come with or without a dry film lube. Sold in pieces but also in packs where the specified number of nuts per pack is indicated after the letters "PK" in the product reference number (SKU). Appearing prices are always for the units of measurement used each time. Matching rivets are sold separately.

AVIATIONEU NEW ERA ISO 3601...

The German DIN 3771 standard refers to all O-rings as sealing elements for fluid technology and identifies O-Ring sizes by their Inner Diameter (ID) &Cross Section (C/S). This standard has essentially been incorporated into the international standard ISO 3601 which sets the globally relevant O-ring dimensions and uniform rules for installation spaces and the properties of the O-rings. It defines metric O-rings according to the same dimension chart as DIN 3771 while it has been extended to include O-rings in imperial dimensions. ISO 3601 also goes beyond the German standard in the area of materials containing material requirements for O-rings that far exceed those of DIN 3771.

Elastomer materials suitable for certain sealing situations are referred to by their abbreviation according to DIN ISO 1629 and include:

Nitrile/Buna-N (NBR), presently the seal industry’s most widely used elastometer, Ethylene-Propylene (EPM/EPDM) used extensively for outdoor, weather-resistant uses and water applications,

Silicone (MQ, PMQ, VMQ, PVMQ) especially resistant to high, dry heat in primarily static applications,

AVIATIONEU NEW ERA AS3209 /...

Flurocarbon rubber compounds (also known as FPM, FKM, or trade names Viton®, Fluorel®, Technoflon®, Dai-El® ) combine high-temperature toughness with wide chemical agent compatibility,  and feature excellent resistance to petroleum products and solvents and good high-temperature compression set characteristics. The designations FPM, FKM and Viton® very often cause confusion although they all relate to one single base material. FPM is the international abbreviation according to DIN/ISO, FKM is the short form for the fluoroelastomer category according to the American standard ASTM while Viton® is the registered trade mark of DuPont Performance Elastomers.

M83248 series Flurocarbon rubber o-rings feature an extremely high fuel and heat resistance and they ideally suited for aircraft fuel system applications. These o-rings feature a high temperature resistance, excellent resistance to acids, fuels, mineral and vegetable oils and greases, aliphatic, aromatic and chlorinated hydrocarbons, non-flammable hydraulic fluids (HFD) and many organic solvents and chemicals, low swelling in ASTM oil No. 1, and IRM 902 and IRM 903, excellent resistance to aging and ozone as well as low gas permeability and low compression set.

Flurocarbon rubber o-rings are often used in place of those made by Nitrile rubber (NBR) also known as Buna-N, presently the seal industry’s most widely used elastometer. When it comes to selecting Buna (NBR) vs. Flurocarbon (Viton®)  for sealing applications, the selected material should be selected on the basis of the intended application. Viton and Buna are two durable, elastomer materials and they are both commonly used in sealing applications for O-rings and gaskets.

M83248 series Flurocarbon rubber o-rings are offered as part of our own (AVIATIONEU NEW ERA) product lines. Sourced from quality manufactuurers they are supplied in competitively priced packs in different sizes.

For additional information Flurocarbon amd Nitrile/Buna-N materials please consult the Product Description section or contact us.

MS/AMS/SAE Packings,...

Preformed packings are basically a type of O-ring providing effective sealing over wide ranges of pressure, temperature, and movement, with the advantage of sealing pressure in both directions and reducing friction and wear on moving parts. They are used to prevent leaks and improve aircraft performance. The packings are formed prior to shipping and they are supplied ready to use. Compared to form-in-place gaskets, they offer easy installation without sacrifising performance. Typically made of a slightly flexible material that can be compressed to create a better seal.

The selection of a specific O-ring is based on a variety of factors, including fluid media resistance, temperature range, hardness, durability, gland size, static or dynamic application, etc.

An extensive selection of preformed packings to choose from can be supplied as part of OEM brands or sourced from quality manufacturers and offered as part of our own (AVIATIONEU NEW ERA) product lines. They are made from different materials such as Nitrile/Buna-N (NBR), Butadiene (Synthetic) Rubber (BR), Flurocarbon (Viton®) rubber  and others. Connectors are used on electrical wiring harnesses and are essentially enclosures (i.e., shells) which house contacts with wires. The electrical connection into the system at the contact termination is either a soldered or crimped connection (the latter removable from the connector with the use of a special tool). The shell and insert may be moisture resistant or a hermetic seal. The inserts in each connector must be oriented for correct mating, and the shell or insert usually contains a keying feature to prevent miss-mating that could damage the connector or result in an electrical problem.

Connectors can be of a Plug (“male”) or Receptacle (“female”) type. Receptables are also termed as sockets or jacks. Plugs have prolonged connecting pins which fit into the mating sockets. Receptables have mounting features such as a flange with holes. Connectors used in aircraft are mostly those complying with Military Standards (MIL-STD) and Military Specifications (MIL-SPEC).

Different connectors, structured in series, are offered as part of our own branded (AVIATIONEU NEW ERA) product lines to provide cost-effective solutions for a variety of applications. Sourced by quality suppliers, they are available in plug or receptable types.

AVIATIONEU NEW ERA Hole...

Hole saws are versatile cutting tools primarily used to create circular openings in various materials. They are often preferred over standard drill bits when there is a need to create larger diameter holes. Hole saws come in different materials and types.

Standard hole saws utilize a separate arbor (the part attaching to the drill) and a replaceable saw blade. Integral hole saws combine the arbor and saw blade into a single, non-detachable unit. They offer greater stability, resulting in more accurate and cleaner cuts, particularly in harder materials. Their integrated design also provides enhanced stability and reliability. Their major disadvantages are their lower versatility, as separate integral hole saws are required for each size and cost (more expensive than standard hole saws).

Integral hole saws are often preferred for applications requiring precise and clean holes, especially in harder materials, due to their enhanced

Diamond plated hole saws are designed for use on extremely hard or abrasive materials where cut finish is important. Typically used for creating holes on  stone, porcelain/ceramics, brick/masonry, cast iron, glass blocks, architectural stones, composites, and laminates.

Hole saws are are offered in different types, inch and metric sizes, cutting depths as OEM parts of their respective manufacturers (separately listed) or as parts of our own labelled (AVIATIONEU NEW ERA) product lines.

BASF CHEMETALL® ARDROX®...

CHEMETALL® is the brand for the Surface Treatment global business unit of BASF's Coatings division & a leading supplier of applied surface treatment technologies for metal, plastic & glass substrates.

CHEMETALL® ARDROX® 185 Series colorless scale/rust removers have a greater than 12.5 pH level and a relative density of 1.43. The series includes 185L, a highly alkaline concentrated solution in water containing sequestrants and 185 water soluble powder offering a strong alkaline solution containing sequestrants. They can be used to remove rust and scale from iron and steel  in immersion tanks but also oil, grease and some air-dried paints.  They will not attack or cause hydrogen embrittlement in ferrous alloys and there is markedly less tendency for re-rusting to occur than with acid pickling.

ARDROX® 185L is usually used at a concentration of 30-50% by volume in water, depending on the amount of rust or scale to be removed. This corresponds to a concentration of 200 - 375 g/L of ARDROX® 185 in water. ARDROX® 185 must always be dissolved in cold water. There will be an exothermic reaction and the solution will heat up to 50-60°C / 120-140°F. The ARDROX® 185L is applied by immersion between 82 and 93°C (180 and 200°F). Agitate with mechanical agitation, do not use air agitation.

The immersion time will vary according to the degree of contamination, light rust being removed in approximately 10 minutes while heavy rust may take about an hour. If the components are heavily contaminated with oil or grease, the life of the ARDROX® 185L  bath will be prolonged if they are first degreased (e.g. with an ARDROX 6-series product).

When used in conjunction with the adequate other ARDROX® specialties (sold separately), ARDROX® 185L can be used to remove scale from hot-end jet engine components. It can also be used for cleaning parts made of titanium.

Thorough water rinsing must take place after the use of ARDROX® 185L. If no further immediate surface treatment is to follow, the use of a dewatering and protective fluid such as an ARDROX® 3-series is desirable to give protection from re-rusting.

The ARDROX® 185L  comes in a 5-gallon and 180-liter containers while the 185 powder in 25 kg bags.

CHALLENGER AVIATION FAA/PMA...

CHALLENGER AVIATION PRODUCTS, Inc. manufactures high quality oil-impregnated, surgical cotton gauze-based aircraft air filters under FAA/PMA certification using K & N filter media. K&N Performance Filters have been well known in the automotive world for years, unsurpassed in airflow and filtering capability they are now one of the most used filters on the road today. Made of a woven cotton fabric instead of paper, the K&N filter medium offers superior filtering without the restriction of airflow presented with paper or foam filters. Fabric allows 50% more air to pass than paper, and almost 60% more than foam. This translates into more horsepower and improved fuel economy.

Based on K&N technology CHALENGER filters have been certified for most general aviation aircraft. Their pleated cotton/wire mesh filters are far less prone to being clogged than synthetic media or paper, and tests done by Challenger (at approximately 240 CFM air flow) show K&N filters typically flow 6.03 CFM as compared to 4.95 for the average pleated paper element and 4.93 CFM for the oil-coated foam variety.

CHALLENGER air filters can be used as replacement parts to other OEM products but an STC (available by CHALLENGER) is required. Air filters come with an application chart, instructions, warranty card and a STC request form which needs to be  filled out for approval for the specific aircraft. The filters comes with a gasket, but do not include the grease which is sold separately, unless otherwise stated.
