AVIATIONEU NEW ERA Integral...

Countersinking is used to ensure that flat head screws or fasteners sit flush against the workpiece. Countersinks used in aerospace and industrial applications are made of durable materials such as High Speed Steel (HSS) known for its hardness, toughness, and ability to withstand high temperatures. High Speed Steel (HSS) countersinks are well suited for cutting aluminum sheet metals. When combined with Cobalt, an alloying agent in steels to improve the hardenability, strength, and wear resistance in machining applications but also due to its ability to resist wear at higher temperatures, the  respective countersinks are often used for cutting stainless steel and other aluminum alloys.

Sourced from quality suppliers, integral (fixed) pilot Microstop countersink cutters are offered as part of our own labeled (AVIATIONEU NEW ERA) product lines. Made from HSS or HSS Steel with Cobalt, they consist ideal tools for aircraft manufacturers, aircraft maintenance/ repair stations or  industrial manufacturers for precise and accurate countersinking, cost-effective alternatives to other OEM products and and stocked by our suppliers for fast deliveries.

Offered in different flutes, body and pilot diameters and sold  either separately (*) or in custom sets to address specific customer needs in machining applications.

Because of the difference in composition between HSS and Cobalt, main strengths of HSS countersinks are their high hardness and wear resistance. Therefore, as a general rule, they consist a better choice when you want your countersinks to retain their strength even when exposed to extreme wear or abuse. For higher hardenability, strength, and wear resistance and in applications when when countersinks are to be exposed to extremely high temperatures, cobalt countersinks should best be used.

AVIATIONEU NEW ERA countersinks can be used with popular adjustable or Microstop countersinking units utilizing a threaded shank drive (sold separately). For additional information please consult the supplied documentation or contact us.

(*) Minimum Order Quantities apply depending on the selected countersinks or their sets.

AVIATIONEU NEW ERA AN/NASM...

AN hex head bolts in different series are offered under AVIATIONEU NEW ERA product series. Sourced from quality vendors, these bolts are manufactured to the US Army-Navy (AN) standard, predecessor to Mil-Spec (MS), superseded by the National Aerospace Standard (NAS). Commonly used in aviation for either tensile/shear load applications. Made from high-strength type 4037 or 8740 alloy steel or 431 Stainless Steel (CRES) and cadmium plated for superior corrosion resistance (compared to commercial grade zinc plated bolts) they are offered with shank drilled for cotter pin or undrilled for stop nut application, and with a drilled head for safety wire or without. Minimum Tensile Strength (Steel and CRES) - 125,000psi. The length of AN aircraft bolts is measured from under the head to the end of the shank. The "grip" is the unthreaded portion of the shank. Threads are pressed into the steel, not cut, thus maintaining strength throughout the entire shank. The surface under the head of AN bolts is designed to be a bearing surface to reduce non-uniform stress as the bolt is torqued thus reducing premature fatigue.  AN3 through AN20 Series bolts are superseded by NASM3 through 20 Series. The part numbers in both series have not been changed. The following letters are used in the product part  numbers.

"A" after the dash number for bolts with undrilled shank

"C"  for bolts made of 431 Stainless Steel (CRES)

"H" after the AN number for bolts with drilled head (eg. AN10H-15)

AN10 bolts have a 5/8-18 thread with a 5/8" shank diameter. All AN10 bolts have a 0.955 thread length regardless of grip length. They can be torqued  to 92-108 lb-ft with AN365 or AN310 full-height nuts, or 50-65 lb-ft with AN364 or MS21042 half-height nuts. Indicated lengths are UHL: Under Head Length (aka Full Shank Length or Overall Length not including bolt head).

AVIATIONEU NEW ERA...

Anchor nuts can be Fixed or Floating, the latter being easier to use due to their built-in nut (threaded hole) able to "float" slightly thus providing a convenient connection point for threaded rods, such as bolts, from the backside. In the case of Fixed anchor nuts, the built-in nut is static (i.e. without the capability to “float”) and the threaded rod must be positioned perfectly over the hole. Self-locking anchor nuts are those with a built-in locking mechanism preventing them from loosening over time from vibrations. They are extensively used in aerospace, automotive, and construction industries.

Depending on their intended application, nutplates conform to different military, aerospace, ISO or other industrial standards such as the German DIN, U.S. (ASME & ASTM, IFI, ANSI), British BS, Japanese JIS and others. They are offered as OEM parts under their respective brands or under our own labelled (AVIATIONEU NEW ERA) product lines intended as cost-effective alternatives to the respective OEM products. Listed in accordance with their standard of compliance, Fixed and Floating nutplates come in different materials (such as steel or CRES & finishes),  in single/double lug configurations and Metric ISO οr Unified thread sizes. There is currently no U.S. Military Standard (MS) specification for Metric nutplates. Depending on the selected product and availability, nutplates can be supplied with a dry film lube specified by the letter "L" in the respective part number. Those with countersunk rivet holes are specified by the letter "K" at the end of the part number.

Sourced from quality manufacturers, AVIATIONEU NEW ERA MS21069/MS21070 series nutplates are fixed self-locking, two-lug, reduced rivet spacing low height miniature anchor nuts.  MS21069 series nutplates are made from cadmium plated steel while those of MS21070 series from corrosion resistant steel (CRES). They come in different Unified Thread sizes with plain or countersunk rivet holes on each side,  with or without a dry film lube. Sold in pieces but also in packs where the specified number of nuts per pack is indicated after the letters "PK" in the product reference number (SKU). Appearing prices are always for the units of measurement used each time. Matching rivets are sold separately.

For additional information please refer to the supplied documentation or contact us.

AVIATIONEU NEW ERA...

AN310/NASM310 and AN320/NASM320 Series castlellated nuts are manufactured from steel and cadmium plated. AN310/320 nuts have been superseded by NASM310/320 Series.  The Part Identification Numbers (PIN) for AN310/AN320 and those for NASM310/NASM320 are identical.

Castellated nuts are of similar style and shape as castle nuts but they are not as thick (deep) as the castle nuts (they consist the thin version of standard castle nuts). The thin design makes castlellated nuts weaker than the castle nuts and are used only where shear stress forces are encountered. Fabricated from steel and cadmium plated per QQ-P-416A, Type II, Class 3. AN310/NASM310 castle nuts are used with drilled-shank bolts, clevis bolts, eye bolts and studs. The slots in the nut accommodate a cotter pin for safety purposes. The thinner AN320/NASM320 series castellated shear nuts, with half the tensile rating of the AN310/NASM310 series nuts, are used with clevis bolts and threaded taper pins which are subject to shearing stress only.

Both AN310/NASM310 and AN320/NASM320 Series castlellated nuts are sourced from quality producers and offered as part of AVIATIONEU NEW ERA product lines. For additional information please consult the supplied documentation or contact us.

SAE AISI 1020 steel, aka C1020 steel in cold worked condition, is one of the most commonly used plain carbon steels. It is a low hardness and tensile strength carbon steel alloy with Brinell hardness ranging between  119 - 235 and tensile strength between 410 - 790 MPa. It features high machinability, high strength, high ductility and good weldability by most welding processes supporting its use in all industrial sectors. Due to its low carbon content, it is resistant to induction hardening or flame hardening but carburization or carbon nitriding can be applied to achieve a hardness value of more than  Rc65.  Normally used in turned and polished or cold drawn conditions.

Sourced from quality producers, SAE AISI 1020 steel tubes are offered as part of our own branded (AVIATIONEU NEW ERA) product lines. They can be furnished Normalized, Annealed or in other conditions, in different specifications, different shapes (cross sections), round, square, rectangular, etc. and dimensions in inches or millimeters (depending on the supplier) to meet project requirements. In the case of Metric round tubes, they are cold drawn seamless tubes available in different outer diameters and wall thicknesses in mm and pre cut or cut to order lengths in meters or centimeters. Those in inch system  are offered as DOM (Drawn Over a Mandrel***), with outer diameters and wall thicknesses in inches and lenghts in inches or feet.  Although they are welded tubes, the weld line becomes nearly undetectable during the manufacturing process and they are often referred to as seamless. Appearing prices for pre cut tubes are per piece in indicated dimensions.

AVIATIONEU NEW ERA MS21078...

Anchor nuts (aka nutplates or anchor plates) are terms used interchangeably and relate to stamped sheet metal fasteners with an internally threaded tube and a plate with two clearance holes for rivets. They are used in blind mounted panel applications in aerospace and other industrial sectors where hex nuts cannot be used or an attached nut is required for ease of maintenance.

Sourced from quality manufacturers, AVIATIONEU NEW ERA MS21078 series nutplates are fixed self-locking, two-lug nutplates with elastic insert and plain rivet holes.  Made from cadmium plated steel they are available in different Unified thread sizes and replace respective AN366F series nutplates.  Sold in pieces but also in packs where the specified number of nuts per pack is indicated after the letters "PK" in the product reference number (SKU). Appearing prices are always for the units of measurement used each time. Matching rivets are sold separately.

AVIATIONEU NEW ERA DIN 982...

A nylon-insert lock nut (also referred to as elastic stop nut, nut with a non-metallic insert  or nyloc nut) is a type of locknut with a nylon collar that increases friction on the screw thread. Nyloc nuts are widely used in products and structures subject to dynamic loads where motion or vibration can cause fasteners to become loose. Their design prevents the connection from loosening without the need for additional lock washers. The nylon insert is situated at the top of the nut and when tightened locks against the thread. The insert deforms elastically over the threads as tightening pressure is applied. The insert locks the nut against the screw as a result of friction, caused by the radial compressive force resulting from the deformation of the nylon. Nyloc nuts retain their locking ability up to 250 °F.

Metric hexagonal nylon-insert self-locking nuts are high anti vibration and anti loose fastening parts conforming to DIN 982 and DIN 985 standards. Different metric thread sizes are designated by the letter "M" indicating the nut's clearance diameter in mm. The main difference between DIN 982 & DIN 985 is the height of the nuts for same thread diameter. DIN 982 lock nuts (often termed as “P” Type) are taller than DIN 985 (aka “T” Type) ones. Lower profile  DIN 985 are used in places where height is limited, while standard height DIN 982 nuts are used in connections where increased strength and fixation are required. In addition, the size range of DIN 985 nuts is wider than that of DIN 982. DIN 985 Nylon self-locking nuts can be used in various mechanical and electrical products with temperature from – 50 ℃ to 100 ℃. Due to their significantly higher anti vibration and anti loose performance than other anti loose devices, their application ranges from  tanks, mining, agricultural, textile &  various kinds of machinery to automobiles and aerospace.

Both DIN 982 and DIN 985 lock nuts are offered as part of our own (AVIATIONEU NEW ERA) product lines. Sourced from quality manufacturers they are competitively priced and can be supplied in different materials (Steel, Brass, Carbon Steel, Alloy Steel & Stainless Steel), grades (Class 5, 6, 8 or 10), metric thread diameters (typically M3/3 mm to M30/30 mm or up to 48 mm for DIN 985 nuts), thread pitches and finishes (natural, electro zinc-plated, chrome plated, black oxide and others). Sold in pieces or packs with number of pieces per pack indicated after "PK" designation in product SKU.

Notes:

Nut thread pitch indicates the distance between threads measured along the length of the nut expressed in mm.

In the case of stainless steel lock nuts, the stainless steel grades are denoted with codes such as A2 or A4 and dash numbers indicating the minimum tensile strength to be met by the material. For example, A2-70 relates to a nylon-insert lock nut made from 304 stainless steel with a minimum tensile strength of 700N/mm² (MPa).

AVIATIONEU NEW ERA MS14144...

A castellated nut, also referred to as a castle nut or slotted nut, is a nut with slots (notches) cut into one end. Although castellated nuts are frequently referred to as slotted nuts, there are slight differences. Castellated nuts are formed with a round section at the top where the slots are located. Slotted nuts do not have this rounded modification. The flat sides of slotted nuts extend fully from the top to the bottom of the nut. Both castellated and slotted nuts are designed to use a pin (usually a split pin) that fits through the slots and through a hole in the screw to which the nut is attached. This pin prevents the nut from turning and loosening. Compared with slotted nuts, castellated nuts allow the cotter pin to be confined closer to the margins of the nut itself, providing added secureness.

AVIATIONEU NEW ERA MS17825...

MS17825 Series nuts are slotted hexagon style lightweight castellated self locking nuts manufactured  from cadmium plated steel to standard castle or shear nut specifications with a nylon insert added for positive safety. They are offered as part of our own labelled (AVIATIONEU NEW ERA) product lines and can be used throughout the control system. In case the cotter pin used with castle nuts is overlooked, the nut cannot work loose. The nylon insert will act as a stop nut.

Clevis pins are used as a quick and secure fastener in place of bolts and rivets. Clevis pins can be partially threaded or unthreaded. Unthreaded Clevis pins have a domed head at one end and a cross-hole at the other end. A Clevis pin is inserted through the holes at the pronged ends of a Clevis and is kept in place by a cotter pin. Threaded Clevis pins are partially threaded on one end with a formed head on the other.

MS20392 series Clevis pins are straight, headed pins with a drilled shank. They supersede those of AN392 to AN396 series and those of AN400, AN402, AN404, and AN406 series. MS20392 series Clevis pins are produced in different materials (steel alloy, corrosion resistant steel (CRES), titanium alloy) and surface finishes (cadmium plated, chrome plated, titanium alloy - aluminum coated) with a drilled hole for cotter pin. The following letters in the part number specify materials and finishes:

“C”  Steel alloy, 4037 4130 8630 or 8740 cadmium plated

“S”  Steel alloy, 8740 cadmium plated

“R” Corrosion resistant steel, PH13-8Mo chrome plated

“P” Corrosion resistant steel, PH13-8Mo cleaned descaled and passivated

“A” Titanium alloy Ti-6AI-4V, aluminum coated and lubricated with solid film lubricant

“T” Titanium alloy, Ti-6AI-4V, no finish

MS20392 series Clevis pins are offered as part of our own labelled (AVIATIONEU NEW ERA) product lines in different materials, head, shank diameters and effective lengths. They are used with clevis forks and in secondary controls which are not subjected to continuous operation. For more information, please refer to the supplied documentation or contact us.

Sourced from quality manufacturers, AVIATIONEU NEW ERA MS21048/NAS680 series nutplates are fixed self-locking, two-lug low height nutplates made from Corrosion Resistant Steel (CRES) A286 (UNS S66 286) in 450° & 800° F versions with a passivated finish. Same as those of MS21047series except that they are made from stainless steel and silver plated (800 ° F only). They have a nylon insert and are available in different Unified thread sizes, with plain rivet or countersunk rivet holes on each side and come with or without a dry film lubricant (450° F only). MS21048 nutplates supersede AN362, AN366, NAS680  and they are superseded by NASM21048 series. The Part Identification Number (PIN) for MS21048 and the part number for NASM21048 are identical & part numbers have not been changed. Sold in packs with a specified number of nuts per pack indicated after the letters "PK" in the product reference number (SKU). Matching rivets are sold separately.
