Instead of being made on an assembly line, each THUNDERBOLT™ engine is factory hand-built and further customized & personalized through the selection of several popular options of fuel systems, ignition systems, performance enhancements and finishing options. Also, most of THUNDERBOLT™ experimental engines contain performance-enhancing modifications such as high-compression pistons, cold-air induction, and electronic ignition designed to increase horsepower and flight efficiency. All engines feature a balanced rotating system within 0.5 gram (connecting rods, pistons, piston pins), ported and polished cylinders, and customized paint options. 

The TEXTRON LYCOMING™ THUNDERBOLT™ engines are offered in Signature, Extreme or Competition series and cover the full spectrum of Lycoming familiar O-235, 320, 360, 390, 540 and 580 cubic inch models, although the IO-390 and IO-580 are the most popular.

Of the engines offered, all use parallel valve cylinders except the 390 and 580, which employ angle-valve cylinder heads. That makes them more efficient and powerful, but also heavier and more expensive.

235 and 320 Series include four-cylinder engines with models producing up to 125 hp at 2,800 rpm and 150 or 160 hp at 2,700 rpm respectively.

360 Series includes four-cylinder engines producing 145 to 210 hp. They are extremely popular due to their rugged reliability with smooth performance. Respective Lycoming’s 390 Series four-cylinder engines produce 210 hp at 2,700 RPM.

540 & 580 Series  are powerful and durable six-cylinder engines. Those in 540 Series produce 235 to 360 hp at up to 2,700 rpm with their counterparts in 580 Series producing 315 hp at 2,700 rpm with reliable direct drive and excellent power to weight ratio.

Modern reciprocating-engine aircraft (especially large and high-performance ones) use electrically operated auxiliary fuel  boost and transfer pumps  to keep fuel moving toward the aircraft engine or move fuel between tanks to balance aircraft weight. Centrifugal boost pumps,  electric motor driven,  are the most common type and  are used to supply,back up the engine-driven fuel pump or transfer fuel between tanks if the aircraft is so designed. They are  most frequently  submerged in the fuel tank or located just outside of the bottom of the tank with the inlet of the pump extending into the tank. Cartridge/canister or in-tank mounted pumps supply fuel to the aircraft engine while reverse flow through the pump is prevented by check valves. The cartridge/canister design allows removal of the pump cartridge without draining the fuel tank. If the pump is mounted outside the tank, a pump removal valve is typically installed so the pump can be removed without draining the fuel tank.

The RAPCO FAA-PMA approved pumps are offered as direct replacements of the respective pumps by OEMs  such as PARKER AIRBORNE or DUKES (please refer to their separate product presentations). The letters " RA" in the beginning of the RAPCO part number are used to denote the correlation of RAPCO part number to the OEM part number. They incorporate modern design, materials, and manufacturing processes to provide high quality and performance fuel pumps at competitive prices. 

These pumps can be furnished  as NEW or OVERHAUL EXCHANGE, namely new or overhauled pumps in exchange of existing customer owned units (cores). In all exchange cases,  the  full selling price of the ordered unit is charged and the core credit is refunded or credited towards future orders with us when our co-operating supplier verifies that the unit is in a reasonable serviceable condition. In the case of overhauled pumps, these are overhauled in accordance with FAA-approved process specification and come with a FAA Form 8130-3. All  RAPCO fuel pumps are thoroughly tested for guaranteed pump performance, with a worldwide distribution and a full warranty (same as OEM). ATS 7500 Aviation Piston Ring Compressor features a quick-change design to speed up piston ring installation. It includes HASTINGS Ring-O-Matic® pliers and bands that operate in all positions: not just vertically or horizontally. The pliers incorporates a precision locking action for exact holding and release of piston ring bands. The AVIASPORT indicators (gauges) are reliable, accurate and solid, combining the accumulated experience of more than twenty years with the latest technology  They have been designed for ROTAX engines and their display areas are divided into red, green and yellow zones in line with Rotax limits. They use a pointer that turns 240º or 320º, providing high resolution. AVIASPORT Oil Pressure indicators (gauges) are designed specifically for ROTAX 912/914 aircraft engines with painted red, green, and yellow gauge markings. are available in two sizes: 52 and 57 mm. They are offered in two unit versions for readings in PSI or Bars. They work with different pressure sensors depending on these installed in ROTAX 912/914 engines: the VDO sensor (Before September 2008) or the 4..20mA sensor (after 2008).

The TEXTRON LYCOMING 540 Series six-cylinder aircraft engines are powerful and durable, delivering 235 to 360 hp at up to 2,700 rpm. The 540 engine family is a six-cylinder version of the four-cylinder LYCOMING 360 series and  includes air-cooled six-cylinder, horizontally opposed fixed-wing aircraft and helicopter engines of 541.5 cubic inch (8,874 cc) displacement. The 540 series engines are installed in a large variety of aircraft and compete with those of the Continental IO-520 and IO-550 series. Minimum fuel grade 100 or 100LL AvGas. Please refer to the Product Description section for an overview of 540 Series engine variants.

The specifications of TEXTRON LYCOMING engines are set in their PNs and  ENPL number because every engine is provided with slightly different specifications depending on the aircraft application.

The TEXTRON LYCOMING 540 Series engines can be supplied as OUTRIGHT SALE which does not require a trade in engine or core excharge or with core return. Engine prices differentiate on the basis of the selected sale option, condition as well as engine configuration and require confirmation at the time of ordering. The Andair standard fuel selector valve range incorporates 1/4"(FS16), 3/8"(FS20) and the 1/2"(FS25) valves. These valves allow for multiple tank switching of one fuel line. 

Manufactured to the highest standards, all Andair fuel selector valves are designed for safety, provide a precise and smooth feel in operation and can be supplied with custom engraving. They feature  a large red lever with 'Fuel' engraved on it and a clearly labelled fascia plate to indicate which tank has been selected. It allows for a good solid detent at each tank position and also the button on top of the lever must be raised to switch the fuel off. All these features help prevent the pilot switching the wrong tank or turning the fuel off.

Andair duplex fuel selector valves have two separate compartments so that two independent fuel lines can be switched simultaneously making them ideal for fuel injected or diesel engines where there needs to be a return line. It allows to pipe surplus fuel to the same tank from which it was drawn. This avoids overfilling the return tank or having an overly complicated fuel system. 

FS2020(*) fuel selector valves feature two 3/8" sections for feed & return. FS2520(*) fuel selector valves feature one 1/2" feed section and one 3/8" return section. Both can be supplied with different ANDAIR fittings to meet application requirements. 

Engines that can benefit from these valves are Surburu, Continental, Rotax, and Diesel aircraft engines.

Τhe HKS 700E Light Aircraft Engine is one of the most successful engines ever developed for light aviation with a high reputation for reliability and economy of operation. Installed in hundreds of light aircraft, PPC’s and trikes around the world, the HKS 700E is a 60HP, horizontally opposed two-cylinder, four-stroke engine with a 1000 hour TBO, a fuel consumption of appr. 2 gph at cruise settings and meets ASTM consensus standards for Special Light Sport Aircraft installation.  

A new evolution of the HKS 700E engine offers a 2 horsepower increase over earlier models by careful optimization of head flow and reduction of internal pumping losses.

The HKS 700E engine is shipped assembled from the factory with a 1-1/2 hours' test run, fully broken-in and accompanied by detailed Installation, Operations and Parts manuals. It comes with Bing CV carburetors, electric starter, gearbox, air and oil filters and a choice of gearbox ratio (2.58 to 1 as standard and 3.47 to 1, a no cost option for greatly reduced prop noise.The exhaust systems are available in 4 configurations and meet the European noise requirements. Series 200 Turbine Flow Transducers by FLOSCAN INSTRUMENT CO. INC. measure flows of hydrocarbon fuels such as gasoline, kerosene, and #2 diesel fuel and other light transmitting, non-corrosive liquids of similar viscosity.  Typical fuel flow applications include aircraft fuel monitoring systems; gasoline, diesel, and gas turbine engine test stands; and industrial furnaces. The transducers give repeatable signals on gasoline across a 100 to 1 flow range down to 0.3 GPH.  The higher viscosity of diesel fuel reduces signal repeatability at flow rates below 2 GPH.  Pressure drops are very low compared to other turbine flow transducers.  The transducer bearing system is rated for continuous operation at the upper end of the flow range. The transducers produce a current pulse signal from an opto-electronic pickup with a preamplifier. 

Because of their superior accuracy and extraordinary repeatability, FLOSCAN transducers have quickly become the dominate fuel flow measuring sensors for general aviation but are also used in marine and other applications.
