MIL-DTL-26482 Standard Series II connectors are widely used on applications in aerospace environments requiring a general-purpose, miniature cylindrical bayonet connector.They are environmentally sealed and offered different receptacle-mounting styles.

(*) M17/128 is a military part number used as equivalent to the RG400 cable. The the specifications and testing of military coaxial cables, including RG400, are very rigorous requiring their manufacturers to test attenuation and structural return loss by sweeping 22 different 50-ohm cables over the frequency band for which their use is recommended.

AMPHENOL Bayonet Neill Concelman (BNC) product series connectors are miniature quick connect RF connectors. They feature two bayonet lugs on the female connector. BNCs are ideally suited for termination on miniature and subminiature coaxial cable (RG-58, 59, to RG-179, RG-316, etc.). Other BNC series include:

They are high temperature, high performance constructions exhibiting high dielectric strength and low capacitance in proportion to the cable’s dielectric constant with tolerances tighter than the MIL-DTL-17 specification to ensure uniformity of electrical characteristics, especially impedance, attenuation, and VSWR. Used on most major civil and military programs, RADIALL™ DSX Series ARINC 404/SAE-AS81659 Connectors offer a proven solution to electrically connect equipment rack to avionics equipment. DSX-F and DSX-K receptacles, RADIALL™ solution for front release front removable (FR/FR) contacts to facilitate installation and maintenance. Fully intermateable with ARINC 404 type B and SAE AS81659 plugs, they offer the same characteristics as SAE AS81659 connectors.

Shell types are plugs and receptacles made from an aluminum alloy with cadmium yellow chromate or nickel plating options. Mismating is prevented by a polarizing system which provides 216 polarizing positions. For military part numbers, applicable polarizing position range goes from 00 through 99 only. United States Military Standard RG58 Coaxial Cables are flexible and lightweight coaxial cable with a solid 20 American Wire Gauge (AWG) conductor, a 50-ohm characteristic impedance and maximum voltage rating of 1,900 volts. They feature a low-density polyethylene dielectric insulation with a dielectric constant of 2.3 and a diameter of 0.116 inches (2.9mm), a tinned copper braided shield and a PVC jacket. The outside diameter of the cable is 0.195' (4.95 mm), which makes it suitable for indoor and vehicular use where size matters. It is best for signal frequencies up to 1GHz, where its attenuation is 14.5 decibels per 100 feet. Above that frequency, attenuation increases, and at 5GHz it is approximately 60 dB/100 ft. RG58 coaxial cable supports 10Base2 Ethernet.

These cables come in different versions (types) corresponding to different conductors including RG58 (pure annealed copper conductor), RG58/U (single solid core copper conductor), RG58A/U (multi-core tinned copper conductor with generally low loss foamed insulation)  or RG58C/U (multi-strand tin-plated copper conductor and polyethylene solid core). RG58 A/U Coaxial Cables with PVC jacket are ones most used in WiFi, Wireless LAN, GSM, and Monitoring and Control of Network Infrastructure Sites. Also they are standard cables for avionics installations in experimental (non-certified) aircraft.

The mil-spec coaxial specification version of RG58 is the M17/28-RG58 Coaxial Cables. These cables are like their standard RG58 counterparts except that they feature a stranded tinned copper conductor and the outer conductor is a 36 AWG tinned copper braid.

Connectors are used on electrical wiring harnesses and are essentially enclosures (i.e., shells) which house contacts with wires. The electrical connection into the system at the contact termination is either a soldered or crimped connection (the latter removable from the connector with the use of a special tool). The shell and insert may be moisture resistant or a hermetic seal. "AR" Series connectors from AMPHENOL are multi-purpose connectors used in aerospace, military and computer periphery applications. Designed per ARINC 404 specifications AR connectors utilize pin and socket contacts manufactured in conformance with MIL-C-39029. They meet or exceed the requirements of MIL-C-81659 and ARINC Specification 404.

These connectors are available in five shell styles with up to four insert cavities. Inserts in AR product line accommodate signal and power contacts in sizes 12, 16, 20 and 22. Coaxial contacts are available in sizes 5 and 9. Insert arrangements are available utilizing a single type contact or a combination of standard and coaxial contacts.
