The TEXTRON LYCOMING 540 Series six-cylinder aircraft engines are powerful and durable, delivering 235 to 360 hp at up to 2,700 rpm. The 540 engine family is a six-cylinder version of the four-cylinder LYCOMING 360 series and includes air-cooled six-cylinder, horizontally opposed fixed-wing aircraft and helicopter engines of 541.5 cubic inch (8,874 cc) displacement. The 540 series engines are installed in a large variety of aircraft and compete with those of the Continental IO-520 and IO-550 series. Minimum fuel grade 100 or 100LL AvGas. Please refer to the Product Description section for an overview of 540 Series engine variants.
The specifications of TEXTRON LYCOMING engines are set in their PNs and ENPL number because every engine is provided with slightly different specifications depending on the aircraft application.
The TEXTRON LYCOMING 540 Series engines can be supplied as OUTRIGHT SALE which does not require a trade in engine or core excharge or with core return. Engine prices differentiate on the basis of the selected sale option, condition as well as engine configuration and require confirmation at the time of ordering. Please contact us, indicating the engine ENPL (whenever possible) for additional information and a quotation.
Since its introduction in 1994, the B&C SPECIALITY PRODUCTS BC320 Starter for Continental engines has established an impressive service record as the ONLY starter design on the market that has provided reliable, long-term service for these engines.
Suitable for installation on Continental engines (C-75, C-85, C-90, C-145-2, O-200, IO-240, O-300-A, -B, and -C, and GO-300-A, -B, and -C) it solves all the problems that other starter designs have had: worn-out clutches, broken pinions, nagging oil leaks, and catastrophic failure modes. Featuring the durability of all-steel gears and heavy-duty ball-bearings, and the efficiency of a high-torque series-wound motor, it provides greater starting torque, while saving 4.3 to 5.2 lbs. over the old key-type and pull-cable type starters (respectively).
The B&C SPECIALITY PRODUCTS BC320 Starter is STC-PMA approved for use in certificated aircraft, and is available with or without the STC (*). Two installation kits are also available: one for replacing a key-type starter (Installation Kit 501-1), the other for replacing a pull-cable type starter (Installation Kit 501-3). For key-type starters, before installing the BC320, you will need to remove the needle bearing pressed into the engine case & install the supplied plug in its place. For pull-cable starters, before installing the BC320, you will need to cut off the 9/16 steel shaft that is installed in your engine case.
Other versions of BC320 Starter for 12v and 24v electrical systems (BC320-2, 12v Counter-Rotating or the 24v BC320-3) are also available.
(*) For the issue of the STC, the aircraft make and model, aircraft registration and serial number are required.

The TEXTRON LYCOMING FAA Certified 320 Series four-cylinder engines power numerous light aircraft manufactured by companies like Textron Cessna, Piper, and kit manufacturers such as Van’s and Glasair. They also power the early Robinson R22 helicopter.
This engine family externally resembles the TEXTRON LYCOMING 235 and 290 engines from which the 320 Series engines were derived. The TEXTRON LYCOMING 320 engine range includes different variants, indicated by prefixes, such as O-320, the fuel-injected IO-320, the "left-handed" version LIO-320 with the crankshaft rotating in the opposite direction for use on twin-engined aircraft, the inverted mount, fuel-injected AIO-320 as well as the aerobatic, fuel-injected AEIO-320. Please refer to the Product Description section for an overview of 320 engine variants.

ROTAX® aircraft engines form part of the product portfolio of BRP-Powertrain GmbH & Co. KG which develops and manufactures engines for snowmobiles, watercrafts, boats, roadsters, all-terrain and side-by-side vehicles, motorcycles, carts, and aircrafts.
BRP-ROTAX® product range includes certified and non certified internal combustion engines, parts and accessories for light and ultralight aircraft.
Different fuel pumps, filters and other fuel system parts are used in BRP-ROTAX® aircraft engines. They are offered as certified or non certified parts from the manufacturer. Non certified parts can be used in ultralights or other aircraft not requiring certification of parts for their installation. Certified parts are designated by the letters "CERT" in the product reference number (SKU).
Aircraft engine parts are subject to changes from time to time. Some parts may be no longer available or replaced by others with different part numbers. Listed BRP-ROTAX® engine parts do not imply their current availability or suitability for your engine application. Always consult the most recent Illustrated Part Catalogs (IPCs) or other documentation available from the manufacturer for the correct part number before ordering.
Jabiru 4th Generation Aircraft Engines include 2 horizontally opposed four-stroke air-cooled direct drive aviation engines designed and manufactured to ASTM F2339, Jabiru four-cylinder 2200 and 3300 six-cylinder with respective rated power of 85hp (63kw) and 120hp (88kw) @ 3300rpm.
The crankshaft is forged from 4140 chrome molybdenum alloy steel, Magna flux inspected with precision ground journals. The propeller is directly crankshaft driven resulting in reduced weight and low maintenance costs. The crankshaft features a removable propeller flange for easy replacement of the front crankshaft and installation of a propeller shaft extension if required. Both tractor or pusher installations are possible.
Cylinder heads are cast aluminum and screwed to aluminum cylinders to form a one-piece assembly. The cylinder barrels are electrolytically coated with silicone carbide (ceramic) in a nickel matrix. Pistons are Jabiru designed. Valves are 7mm (stem dia) which are purpose manufactured for the Jabiru engines.
An integral alternator using rare earth magnets provides alternating current for battery charging and electrical accessory drive. The alternator is attached to the flywheel and is driven directly by the crankshaft.
The ignition system is a transistorized electronic system; two fixed coils mounted adjacent to the flywheel are energized by rare earth magnets attached to the flywheel.
The ignition system is fixed timing and, therefore, removes the need for timing adjustment. The dual ignition system is self-generating and does not depend on battery power.
An internal gear pump direct-mounted on the camshaft and incorporating a small automotive spin-on filter, provides engine lubrication. All installations require an oil cooler to meet oil temperature limits.
The engines are fitted with a 1.2 kw starter motor.
The fuel induction system comprises a pressure compensating carburetor.
The standard engines are supplied with two RAMAIR cooling ducts, which have been developed by Jabiru to facilitate the cooling of the engine and direct air from the propeller to the critical areas of the engine, particularly the cylinder heads and barrels.
An effective stainless-steel exhaust and muffler system is fitted as standard equipment.

Airboxes are used in ROTAX® aircraft engines to remove SOME of the difficulties created by having two independent induction systems. They simplify sourcing the air for both carburetors. Depending on the installation, the air temperature and/or pressure within the engine cowling may be significantly different on each side. Airboxes make it easy to run a single intake hose to a point on the aircraft where preferred ambient air can be obtained. They also make the provision of the same carb heat air simpler to each carburetor.
