The TEXTRON LYCOMING 540 Series six-cylinder aircraft engines are powerful and durable, delivering 235 to 360 hp at up to 2,700 rpm. The 540 engine family is a six-cylinder version of the four-cylinder LYCOMING 360 series and  includes air-cooled six-cylinder, horizontally opposed fixed-wing aircraft and helicopter engines of 541.5 cubic inch (8,874 cc) displacement. The 540 series engines are installed in a large variety of aircraft and compete with those of the Continental IO-520 and IO-550 series. Minimum fuel grade 100 or 100LL AvGas. Lycoming cylinder kits come complete with a nitrided steel barrel, a new aluminum alloy cylinder head, piston pins and plugs, intake and exhaust valves, chrome oil and compression rings, valve springs and seats, retaining keys, and all gaskets and seals.
