Although gearboxes and transmissions serve the same operational scope their lubricants differ. Generally, gear oils are used in manual gear boxes and transmission fluids in automatic transmissions. However, oils used in manual gearboxes are thicker, more viscous oils to withstand high temperatures and be able to function under extreme pressure. EXXONMOBIL® Mobil Turbo 319A-2 is a fully synthetic lubricant developed to meet the performance requirements of Russian gas turbine aircraft engines which operate on mineral-oil-based lubricants. Formulated from a synthetic hydrocarbon combination of polyalphaolefin (PAO) and hindered ester based stock, Mobil Turbo 319A-2 is fortified with a unique chemical additive system. The resulting product has far superior thermal and oxidation stability than mineral-oil-based lubricants. The ability of Mobil Turbo 319A-2 to resist deterioration and deposit formation allows the potential for extended oil drain intervals and less frequent maintenance.

The closely controlled viscosity of Mobil Turbo 319A-2 at -51º C, along with a -60ºC pour point, ensure good low-temperature fluidity, permitting engine starting and lubrication at low temperatures. Mobil Turbo 319A-2 exhibits excellent bulk oil stability at temperatures up to 200º C (392º F). The evaporation rate of Mobil Turbo 319A-2 at high temperatures is significantly lower than mineral-oil-based products, and helps minimize oil consumption. The lubricant has excellent resistance to foaming.

AEROSHELL® brand relates to one of the most comprehensive and proven ranges of aviation lubricants in the aviation lubricants market worldwide. AEROSHELL® lubricants include aircraft piston and turbine engine oils, airframe and wheel-bearing greases, hydraulic fluids,  preservatives and other fluids. AEROSHELL® aviation lubricants are available in in different packaging options such as 55 gallon drums, 5 gallon pails, 1 US quart cans and cartons with 24 1 US cans each. ENGINEERED CUSTOM LUBRICANTS (ECL), part of Quaker Houghton, is a producer of lubricants for automotive, aviation & aerospace, semiconductor and specialty valves' applications. ECL CHRISTO-LUBE® products include Perfluoropolyether (PFPE) oils, greases, and dispersions chosen for their extreme temperature capabilities (-90° C to 250° C), excellent compatibility with virtually all materials (inc. plastics & elastomers), or their non-reactivity with oxygen, other gasses, chemicals, solvents, or automotive fluids. The following ECL lubricants can be used in Aerospace  applications:

Aircraft and Instrument Greases meeting MIL-PRF-27617G spec. Fully fluorinated, PTFE  thickened, capable for extreme temperature operations with an outstanding stability with oxygen and an excellent compatibility with metals, plastics and elastomers. Chemically inert, resistant to hydrocarbon fuel and liquid oxygen for use as lubricants in aircraft & supporting equipment. 

CHRISTO-LUBE® MCG 109 -65 to 260 °C - Fully fluorinated medium consistency grease, PTFE thickened. Useful in lubricating bearings, gears and actuators typically found in the semiconductor industry. Clean room compatible. Performs exceptionally well under extreme vacuum environments. Supplied in 2oz Tube and 1 lb Jar.

CHRISTO-LUBE® MCG 111 -60°C to 230°C qualified to MIL-PRF-27617G, Types I, II, III.  Medium consistency fluorinated lubricant for lubricating valve and regulator components requiring non-reactivity with harsh chemicals, fuels and solvents. Also  NSF  H-1  registered lubricant for use in food processing equipment/operations. Offered packings (5 gr/ 2 oz./4 oz./8 oz./ 1 lb tubes, 2 oz. syringes, 1 lb  jars or 1.76 lb cartridges).

CHRISTO-LUBE® MCG 114 -40°C to 140°C qualified to MIL-PRF-27617G,Type I. 

CHRISTO-LUBE® MCG 116 -20°C to 230°C qualified to MIL-PRF-27617G,Type III.

Soft (MCG 114 ) and Medium consistency (MCG 116) fluorinated lubricants for lubricating aircraft components when resistance to hydrocarbon fuel and liquid oxygen is needed. 

Guidance Systems and Instrumentation, chemically inert providing extreme low-temperature starting and running torque.

CHRISTO-LUBE® MCG 106 -75°C to 150°C Grease for bearings, gears, splines, valves and screw actuators. Contains a PFPE soluble corrosion inhibitor for protection of lubricated parts in long term storage.

CHRISTO-LUBE® MCG 117 -65°C to 250°C Wide temperature, extremely inert grease for use in vacuum systems where pressures may be as low as 10-12 Torr.

CHRISTO-LUBE® MCG 134 -50°C to 260°C Specified for rotary and push button selector switches. Contains a PFPE-soluble corrosion inhibitor for use on parts in long term storage.
