PICA 2 Ultralight/LSA single engine low wing aeroplane from H.F DORNA features a full composite airframe structure with epoxy corrosion proofing for long time protection. With a Max Take Off Weight (MTOW) of 600 kg, a payload of 210 kg, low direct operating cost, high maneuverability and flight performance and a range of 680 nm (1200 km), PICA 2 stands out from competition. Nicely painted with careful finishes, PICA 2 comes in the basic configuration with wheel fairings in both nose and main wheels, a good all around visibility through the windshield, side and rear windows, a spacious cabin and luggage space with wall to wall carpeting easily accessed by the two side doors wth locks as well as comfortable pilot and co-pilot seats both with seat belts and shoulder harnesses. Cabin confort is secured through a ventilator adjustable heating system. Dual control stick with dual rudder pedals and flight controls are installed for handling the aeroplane.
PICA 2 is powered by a ROTAX 912 ULS2 4-cylinder, 4-stroke carburetted liquid/air cooled engine with integrated gearbox and dual ignition delivering a max takeoff power of 100 HP. This engine combines nicely with the 3-blade ground adjustable WOODCOMP propeller. Engine control and monitoring is performed by throttle and choke controls and indicators installed in the cockpit panel which is well equipped and further upgradeable by offered options. They include RPM, oil pressure and temperature, fuel pressure, voltmeter, ammeter, left and right fuel quantity and manifold pressure.
The panel also hosts the flight instruments and indicators as well as the various switches and fuses (circuit breakers for the 12 V 18AMP electrical system). In the basic configuration they include the master switch, avionics switch, left and right magneto switches, fuel pump switch, fuses, the magnetic compass, airspeed (ASI in kts), altimeter (in.), vertcal speed (VSI), slip, flaps, pitot system, static system, stabilator trim position and the VHF transceiver (COMM radio). Other avionics, navigation and safety devices such as transponder, GPS, MFD, ELT etc. are available as an option.
PICA 2 can operate with MOGAS (95 octane unleaded) or AVGAS 100LL fuel stored in 2 x 45-litre fuel tanks in the wings with quick drain capability and visual indication of the fuel level in the cabin
Designed and built in strict conformance with ASTM International standard, PICA 2 aeroplane qualifies for Ultralight certification under present national rules in the EU countries where the previous 450 kg weight limit has been replaced by a 600 kg (1,320 pounds) MTOW. It also qualifies for operations in the U.S. or other countries accepting FAA Light Sport Aircraft (LSA) certification regulations. This aeroplane is offered under AVIATIONEU NEW ERA Lease or Buy Programs as a multi purpose aircraft for recreational and business flying, pilot training, aeroclub operations, surveillance or other missions. Depending on the leasing or buy option, a range of support services (*) are also offered including initial airworthiness certification in the country of operations, user training on aircraft operations, supply of spare parts and consummables, aircraft maintenance, insurance etc. For additional information please refer to the supplied documentation or contact us.
