INNOSPEC FUEL SPECIALTIES Aviation Corrosion Inhibitors/Lubricity Improvers (CI / LI)
DCI-4A is the preferred corrosion inhibitor for aviation fuels. It serves a dual function, protects the fuel system against corrosion during pipeline transfer and storage while improving the fuel’s lubricity. DCI-4A can be used in aviation gasolines, motor gasolines, jet fuels and other distillate fuels. DCI-4A has a low effect on MSEP and other water interactions, when compared to competitive corrosion inhibitors. The treat rate range for DCI-4A in ground fuels is typically 6-12mg/l. Offered in 1-US gal jugs or 55 US gal drums.
DCI-4A Approvals/Qualifications

INNOSPEC FUEL SPECIALTIES Aviation Fuel Static Dissipators
Fuel Static Dissipators aim to enhance safety by preventing static charge build up when refining or handling fuels.Slow dissipation can be a potential hazard, as a discharge from an electrically charged fuel to the side of the tank can ignite the fuel vapor, causing an explosion. Electro-static ignition hazzards are also encountered when rapid fuel flow rates are combined with highly refined low sulphur fuels in which high severity refinery processes are used to remove trace materials from these fuels but also reduce the natural conductivity of the fuel.
INNOSPEC's STADIS® brand is a class leading, non-metallic range of static dissipator additives (SDAs). At low concentrations (typically 0.5 to 3 mg/l), they increase the electrical conductivity of middle distillates, reducing the risk of electrostatic hazards. The STADIS® range of SDAs can be used to improve the conductivity of both ground and jet (aviation) fuels.
STADIS® 450 is a non-metallic distillate fuel additive that increases the electrical conductivity of distillate fuels and helps reduce hazards associated with mixing, transfer, and shipment of distillate fuels. It is is the premium static dissipator additive (SDA) in use today and the only SDA approved worldwide for use in civilian and military aviation turbine jet fuels. Its use is mandatory in most aviation turbine fuels for either civil or military use.. It reduces the risk of static discharge and electro-static ignition at minimal treat rates. This additive is also widely used in ground fuels. STADIS® 450 provides the following functional and performance properties:
- Superior low temperature conductivity retention
- Fully Compatible with other additives
- Pipe Line Use Accepted
- Consistent lot-to-lot performance
- Excellent low temperature handling
- Stable during storage
- Ashless - non-metallic
