FIBRE GLAST 3K, Plain Weave Carbon Fiber Fabric is suitable for lightweight, high-strength, aerodynamic parts used in aerospace applications.. It features a 3k tow (3000 filaments per fiber), boasts an ultimate tensile strength of at least 610 KSI (compared to appr. 500 KSI of most competitive products) and is a commonly selected fabric style, delivering uniform strength in both horizontal and vertical directions. It wets out quickly and handles easily. Only three layers are typically necessary to produce non-structural pieces. Available in 50" or 60"widths.
To maximize strength properties, its use with an epoxy, like FIBRE GLAST System 2000 Epoxy Resin (P/N: 2000) is recommended. For added conformability, lay up the fabric at a 45-degree bias inside molds.
This fabric is available in thin strip tapes for unique shapes or wrapping applications.
3K, Plain Weave Carbon Fiber Fabric is sold by the linear yard, either as a prepackaged quantity or by continuous yardage.
Prepacks are available in pre-cut lengths of the fabric: one yard (P/N: 530-A, roll), three yards (P/N: 530-B, roll), and five yards (P/N: 530-C, roll). Each is packaged and sold separately but can be also purchased in any combination. Alternatively, this fabric is sold by "cut to length" yardage on condition that 25+ yards of the fabric (MOQ) are ordered in any one order. In this case customers can be benefited from a price-per-yard discount as compared to prepacks.
