LEONARDO HELICOPTERS Flight...
Automatic flight control systems (AFCS) are aircraft autopilot systems with many integrated features initially found only on high-performance aircraft but nowadays installed on modern aircraft of any size. Their capabilities vary from system to system with some AFCS offering advanced features beyond ordinary autopilot systems regarding programmability, the level of integration of navigational aids, the integration of flight director and autothrottle systems, and combining of the command elements of these various systems into a single integrated flight control human interface.
LEONARDO HELICOPTERS provides aircraft manufacturers with solutions ranging from single axis or secondary flight control computers and electronics to complete integration of flight control systems. The flight control system architecture spans from simplest architecture, lowest complexity up to full authority fly-bywire architecture, offering the following advantages:
• Compatibility with various actuation technologies (Hydraulics, Mechanical, Electro-Mechanical)
• Eased certification process (EASA Form 1 already achieved)
• Reduced integration cost and schedule risk (building blocks)
The Flight Control Systems (FCS), used to control the control surfaces of the aircraft, are based on:
• Flight Control Computer (FCC)
• APSW (Autopilot).
• Building blocks of dual, dual-duplex, triplex and quadruplex FCS architecture.
Apart from new, LEONARDO older FCS are also offered in NEW SURPLUS or USED conditions (Serviceable or Overhauled). For additional information please consult the supplied documentation or contact us.
