OROLIA KANNAD 406 AS...

The KANNAD 406 AS (P/N S1823502-03) is a aeronautical survival beacon. Thanks to its small size and light weight, the Kannad 406 AS fits easily inside a liferaft. It is supplied with a floating collar.

The KANNAD 406 AS is qualified by the French Civil Aviation in Europe with JTSO-2C91a & JTSO-2C126 and by FAA with TSO-C91a & TSO-C126 applied to “survival” beacons.

The ELT is programmed with either the aircraft tail number, a serial number or the aircraft operator designator. It can be installed inside an aircraft on a mounting bracket or in a carry-off bag (both on options).

The mounting bracket option includes a locking pin to avoid accidental activation before ELT removal. The locking pin can be ordered separately with the carry off version.

The ELT can be fitted with a "Water Switch Sensor" to be activated automatically when in contact with water. A buzzer and a led indicate activation.

An integrated “self test” checks the main functions of the beacon. The test result is given by the led flashing sequence.

Product Features:

Battery replacement is only every 6 years.

Precise pinpointing (<1NM) due to the unparalleled frequency accuracy of the 406 transmitter.

Three frequency transmitter (121.5 / 243 / 406 MHz)

Weight (including battery, auxiliary antenna and floating collar) 2.53 lbs (1150 g)

Options:

P/N S18 20 511-03 carry-off bag

P/N S1820511-02 Mounting bracket with locking pin

P/N S1820514-14 Water Switch Sensor

OROLIA KANNAD 406 AF...

The KANNAD 406 AF automatic fixed Emergency Locator Transmitter (ELT)  is designed to be installed near the tail of the aircraft and to be connected to an outside antenna (sold separately). A sophisticated “shock sensor” will activate the ELT automatically in the event of a crash. Its small size and light weight make it ideal for general aviation aircraft.  The Mounting Bracket (Strap) is not included.

A separate version (406 AF-H) has been specifically developed for installation on board a helicopter in flat position (to gain space compared with usual installations at 45° downwards).

Product Features:

Optional Navigation Interface transmits GPS coordinates significantly shortening Search and Rescue response time.

Operates without aircraft power and incorporates an internal alarm/buzzer avoiding costly installation procedures.

Six year lithium manganese battery.

Three frequency transmitter (121.5 / 243 / 406 MHz)

Weight: (Including batteries) 2.44 lbs (1110 g) / max 2.60 lbs (1180g)

Please refer to the supplied documentation for additional information.

Note: The Kannad 406 AF-COMPACT version, designed for private pilots and light aircraft (usually supplied as kit with rod or whip antennas), has been discontinued and is no longer available.

OROLIA KANNAD 406 INTEGRA...

The new OROLIA-KANNAD INTEGRA 406 GPS ELT is a major step forward in the development of ELT technology and aircraft safety. Major benefits over standard ELTs include  a fail-safe automatically activated system for transmission of both the unique identification and GPS position in case of ditching of the aircraft or a crash landing as well as the ability for the pilot/ crew to remove the ELT from a downed aircraft. In addition,it features internal 406MHz and GPS antennas saving significant cost on aircraft  installation without the need for an  external antenna (national authorities’ rules and regulations permitting) and additional external GPS interface.

The 406 INTEGRA fixed ELT(AF) transmits on both the international 406MHz satellite search and rescue system (min  24 hours from activation) and on 121.5MHz for local direction finding. Minimum operating temperature is -20°C. The internal battery life of the INTEGRA is 6 years. Complies with European and FAA standards.

406 INTEGRA ELT(AF) is designed for flat installation on fixed wing aircraft and can be connected to an outside antenna (sold separately).

This ELT comes with:

the COMPACT universal mounting bracket

RC200 remote control panel

DIN-12 connector

SUB-D 9 pts female connector
