AVIATIONEU NEW ERA...

Thermocouple and thermocouple extension wires are flexible, insulated wires the first used to link a thermocouple to a temperature control device or make the sensing point (or probe) of the thermocouple while the second to extend a thermocouple signal from a probe back to the measuring instrument reading the signal over long distances.

There are different types of thermocouples conctructed from 2 conductor solid core thermocouple grade specified gauge insulated wires with a positive and negative lead and an insulated outer jacket. Types N, K, E, J, T are base metal thermocouple wires  mostly used while Types S, R and B are precious metal thermocouple wires. Common Thermocouple Wire Types are outlined below while their more detailed presentation and characteristics are included in the Product Description section.

K-Type thermocouple (nickel-chromium (nickel-silicon - nickel-aluminum). Base metal thermocouple with strong oxidation resistance with a temperature measurement capability from 0 to 1300 °C.  Main disadvantages include among others a high-temperature stability of thermoelectric potential lower than of N-type and precious metal thermocouples and a poor short-term thermal cycle stability in the range of 250-500 °C.

T-Type thermocouple (copper-copper-nickel). It has the highest accuracy and good uniformity among the base metal thermocouples and an operating temperature between -200 and 350 ℃.

J-Type thermocouple (iron-constantan ). Suitable for reducing or inert atmosphere for vacuum oxidation, and the temperature range from -200 to 800 °C.

N-Type thermocouple (NiCrSi-NiSi). Features of the thermocouple are strong anti-oxidation ability in temperature regulation below 1300 °C, good long-term stability and short-term thermal cycle repeatability, good nuclear radiation resistance, and low-temperature resistance.

E-Type thermocouple (nickel-chromium-copper-nickel [constantan] thermocouple). Its thermoelectric potential is the highest among the commonly used thermocouples. Often selected for applications in conditions of high sensitivity, low thermal conductivity, and large resistance that can be tolerated. Less sensitive than Type K to corrosion in atmospheres containing higher humidity.

Thermocouple wires of diferent types and wire sizes (Gauges) are offered as part of own labelled (AVIATIONEU NEW ERA) product lines. Priced and sold by the foot and offered in specified or cut to order lengths (usually in 10 ft increments).

AVIATIONEU NEW ERA SAE...

MIL-spec were initially developed to standardize wires and cables used in military equipment. For many years, wires used in aircraft met MIL-W-5086  mil-spec and SAE-AS50861 standards superseeding them. They were manufactured with the use of tin-coated copper conductors rated at 600 volts and temperatures of 105°C and various insulating coatings including polyvinyl chloride (PVC). The PVC insulation provided resistance to abrasion, among many other things. Still in production, MIL-W-5086  cables in their various types of conductors and jacket constructions are used, apart from the aircraft in other applications that require resistance to abrasion, cut-through, impact, chemicals, and fuels. They are gradually replaced by those made in accordance with Mil-W-22759 standard due to toxic fumes generated by PVC insulation in the event of a fire. The Mil-W-22759 standard transitioned to SAE AS22759 in 2004. These two standards are essentially identical and cover a of wide range of single conductor wires (please refer to the Product Description section and supplied documentation for assistance).

Sourced from quality producers, AS22759/M22759 wires are offered as part of our own labelled (AVIATIONEU NEW ERA) product lines in different configurations, various AWG(*) sizes, in white (standard) or other color variations (desired color should be specified at the time of ordering). They are suitable for use in a range of applications in military and civilian aircraft, in harsh aircraft engine environments, for control surfaces as well as applications in areas subject to severe weather and moisture-prone (SWAMP).

Those commonly used are SAE AS22759/16  unshielded wires (replacing wires produced as per M22759/16 /17/18 and /19  specifications) but other configurations can be available. This specification uses stranded tin plated copper or silver plated high strength alloy conductors and extruded ethylene/tetrafluorbethylene (ETFE) insulation. Respective wire ratings are 150° C and 600 Volts.

The AVIATIONEU NEW ERA AS22759/M22759 wires are sold in cut-to-order lengths in 10 ft increments or pre-determined lengths in feet, indicated in the product reference number (SKU), and packed in rolls or spools. These wires are accompanied by our Certificate of Conformance (CoC).

(*) American Wire Gauge (AWG): Wire gauge is a measurement of wire diameter. This determines the amount of electric current a wire can safely carry, as well as its electrical resistance and weight.

SENSATA TECHNOLOGIES...

The KLIXON® 7270/7271 series circuit breakers were designed to utilize less behind panel space while protecting wire and cable in aircraft and ground support equipment on either 120 VAC, 400 Hz or 30 VDC systems.

These circuit breakers are available with neck mounting (7270-1 and 7271-8) or standard cover plate (7270-7 and 7271-3). In each of these KLIXON® circuit breakers, the bi-metallic element assures uniform current distribution throughout its responsive area. This design reduces current density at the critical areas, resulting in an element having a much higher interrupting capability than conventional design. Inherently resistant to shock and vibration, the KLIXON® disc element is capable of precise calibration settings and will retain the initial calibration within close tolerances throughout the service life of the breaker. Both circuit breakers have conventional actuator action; i.e., the toggle actuator on the 7270 moves to the OFF position for trip indication and the button the 7271 pops out. A standard black button with a white collar is used. For additional information please refer to the attached documentation.

SENSATA TECHNOLOGIES...

The KLIXON® 7277 series circuit breakers are the commercial grade version of the 7274 series circuit breakers  which are small, lightweight, low amperage devices that are specifically designed to protect aircraft/aerospace cable and components in airborne vehicles and equipment. The KLIXON® 7277 series circuit breakers are physically and electrically identical to the 7274-2 military grade circuit breakers, with the exception that the 7277 series has wider calibration limits.  Klixon® 7277 series breakers have been designed for applications that do not require the tighter performance characteristics and approvals of 7277-2 series military circuit breakers.

Originally developed as an alternative to slow blow fuses, the trip–free 7277 series breakers are used extensively as primary electrical circuit protection on general aviation aircraft. The wider calibration limits of the 7277 has also resulted in applications including protection for data processing and telecommunications equipment, computers, flight simulators, construction, material handling and other industrial, electronic equipment. Suitable for use on trainer / simulator applications where all breakers are operated on low ampere control current, different ampere rating inserts (amp ratings on top of push button) can be ordered.

KLIXON® 7277 series circuit breakers' features include:

• Miniature size

• Light weight

• Trip–free design

• Current rating: 0.5 to 20 amps

• High vibration resistance

• Options include: dust boot (part #14500-1 fits 15/32 bushing, part #14500-5 fits 7/16 bushing), auxiliary switch, terminal hardware, longer push button.

For additional information please consult the supplied documentation.
