(*) AMS stands for Aerospace Material Specifications established by the SAE International (formerly, the Society of Automotive Engineers or SAE). AMS specifications are compiled in a comprehensive database of individual directives that standardize procedures, equipment and processes related to aerospace material processing. These are continuously updated and revised to stay up-to-date with advances in material science and processes technologies.

(**) ASTM International is a standards organization developing and publishing “voluntary consensus technical standards for a wide range of materials, products, systems, and services.”ASTM’s aerospace material standards are instrumental in evaluating materials, components, and devices primarily used in aerospace and aircraft industries.

AVIATIONEU NEW ERA Grade...

Grade 410 is a basic general-purpose hardenable martensitic stainless steel alloy for highly stressed requirements, providing good corrosion resistance. Martensitic stainless steels are fabricated using techniques requiring final heat treatment. These grades are less resistant to corrosion when compared to those of austenitic. Their operating temperatures are often affected by their loss of strength at high temperatures, due to over-tempering and loss of ductility at sub-zero temperatures. Quenching and tempering can harden grade 410 steels while their corrosion resistance can be further enhanced by hardening, tempering and polishing.

410 is a very common grade used in many industries such as aerospace, power generation, and general industry. Generally used for applications requiring mild corrosion, heat resistance and high strength and ductility. Indicative examples include steam / gas turbine blades and buckets, bushings, valve components, fasteners, nuclear reactor control rod mechanisms, petrochemical equipment and machine parts.

Grade 410 round bars/rods are offered as part of AVIATIONEU NEW ERA product lines. Sourced by quality producers, these bars/rods are available in different diameters and pre cut lengths in inches. They meet AMS -QQ-S-763, AMS -5612, AMS -5613, AMS -2303, ASTM -A276, ASTM -A479 specifications. For additional information, please refer to the supplied documentation or contact us.

AVIATIONEU NEW ERA 4130...

Stainless Steel alloy 13-8 PH (UNS S13800) is a martensitic precipitation-hardening stainless steel alloy featuring excellent strength, high hardness, superior toughness, and good corrosion resistance. Good transverse toughness properties are achieved by tight chemical composition control, low carbon content, and vacuum melting.

The chemical composition includes Chromium (Cr) 12.25-13.25%, Nickel (Ni) 7.5-8.5%, Molybdenum (Mo) 2.0-2.5%, Aluminum (Al) 0.90-1.35% as content weight with other metals covering the balance. This alloy is double melted in a Vacuum Induction Furnace followed by Consumable Electrode Vacuum Melt (VIM-VAR). In some cases, a second melting  by Electroslag Remelting (ESR) is implemented. It is weldable (inert gas shielding with Helium is preferred). Corrosion resistance is similar to 304 Stainless, with greatest resistance in the fully hardened conditions. Stainless Steel 13-8 PH comes in different shapes mostly in bars/rods, wires, forgings, rings and extrusions but also in sheets or plates.

AISI/SAE(*) 4130 and 4140 grade steels are low-alloy steels containing chromium and molybdenum as common composition elements. Both are are popular steel materials due to their properties. AISI 4130 grade steel shows good overall combinations of strength, toughness and fatigue strength with good atmospheric corrosion resistance while AISI 4140 grade steel features a high fatigue strength, abrasion and impact resistance, toughness, and torsional strength. Both alloys are weldable with the use of all conventional techniques (AISI 4130 alloy's lower carbon composition compared to AISI 4140 allows easier welding) and machinable in the annealed condition. To make them stronger they need to be subjected to heat treatment, such as annealing, cold working, etc. 4140 and 4130 grade steels are wideky used in aerospace, oil and gas, automotive, agricultural and defense industries.

Round bars from AISI 4130/4140 structural steel alloys are offered as part of AVIATIONEU NEW ERA product lines for a wide range of uses in different applications (gears, connection rods, stem assemblies, pump shafts, tool holders and others. AVIATIONEU NEW ERA 4130...

Steel alloy 4130 (ST4130), also known as Chrome Moly after the 2 key elements of its composition, chromium, and molybdenum, is a general-purpose alloy steel widely used by the aviation and motorsports industries due to its weldability, fabrication, and mild hardenability in all offered forms (tubes, bars, sheets and plates). They are available in two different material states (Normalized and Annealed) depending on the process of how the material is heated and cooled.

The Normalized condition (sometimes referred to as "Condition N") is the harder and stronger condition and is best used when forming is not needed. Normalizing relieves internal stress on steel and improves toughness in steels that may harden after the cold working process.

The Annealed condition (sometimes referred to as "Condition A") is the softer and formable condition and is best used when forming is needed. Annealing relieves internal stresses, softens and makes the material more ductile.

4130 steel bars/rods are offered as part of our own branded (AVIATIONEU NEW ERA) product lines, featuring good strength and weldability without compromising steel abrasion or impact resistance. They do not require further heat treatment and are commonly used in structural applications, including gears, fasteners, and some aircraft exterior. Offered in Normalized condition and Cold Finished as indicated by the letters "NRZ" and  "CF" respectively in the product reference code (SKU). These bars/rods comply with ASTM -A108, AMS -6348, AMS -6370 & AMS/MIL -S-6758 specifications. Available in different diameters and lengths in inches. Unless otherwise mentioned, there is additional cost if manufacturing test reports are required.
