Metal Tubes & Pipes

This category includes metal tubing and piping furnished mostly as part of AVIATIONEU NEW ERA product lines in seamless and welded types, different materials, shapes/cross sections, manufacturing methods and conditions, specifications, dimensions and pre cut or cut to order length options. Non metal piping is included in a different product category. Although both the words" tubes" and "pipes" are often used interchangeably in our product presentations, largely because both are hollow shaped, there are important distinctions between the two. Tubes are mostly used in structural and aesthetic applications while pipes are used for transporting fluids, liquids, and gases. Seamless tubes are extruded and drawn from a billet while welded tubing is produced from a strip that is roll formed and welded to produce a tube.  In general, seamless tubes/pipes are completely homogenous, resulting in more strength, corrosion resistance, and the ability to withstand higher pressure than the welded ones. Welded tubes are considerably less expensive than seamless ones and are readily available in long continuous lengths. Tubes are measured by the outside diameter (OD) and wall thickness. A pipe, on the other hand, is measured by its inside diameter (ID).

AVIATIONEU NEW ERA 6061...

Aluminum alloy 6061 (AL6061), with magnesium and silicon as its major alloying elements, is the most commonly used aluminum alloy in the world. It is a cold-treated aluminum forging product with the advantages of 4000 Series and 5000 Series. When heat-treated, 6061 aluminum alloys are a great choice for general purpose uses and find many applications in structural materials, electronics, chemical equipment, and others. This alloy features high strength, good corrosion resistance, weldability, and machinability. It comes in different tempers  such as O (annealed), or tempered grades, 6061-T4 and 6061-T6. Compared to AL2024, the so-called aircraft aluminum, 2024 should be generally selected if strength is a priority or for forming applications.  In terms of machinability, 6061 aluminum is one of the most popular machining alloys and therefore often preferred if machining procedures are necessary for a project.

AL6061 tubes/pipes are offered as part of our own branded (AVIATIONEU NEW ERA) product lines.Tubes are designed to act as structural support, whereas pipes are designed to carry liquids and gases. AL6061 tubing come in different shapes (round, square, orthogonal and others), tempers (T6 or T651 ), dimensions and pre cut or cut to order lenght options with the ability to be heat treated for even higher strength, all at an affordable price. Our 6061 T6 aluminum tubes are offered as Drawn or Extruded (indicated respectively by the words "DRW" and "EXTRD" in the product SKU) and they are available in different outer diameters, wall thicknesses and pre cut lengths in inches. AVIATIONEU NEW ERA 2024...

AL2024, the so-called aircraft aluminum, is an aluminium alloy, with copper as the primary alloying element. It is used in applications requiring high strength to weight ratio, as well as good fatigue resistance, weldablility and average machinability. The addition of copper to this alloy makes 2024 one of the strongest aluminum alloys. It comes in different tempers (O without heat treatment or T with heat treatment). It is non-magnetic and heat treatable but it also is more succeptible to corrosion than most other aluminum alloys. Due to the poor corrosion resistance of this alloy  it is often clad (specified as CLAD or ALCLAD) in which case high-purity aluminium surface layers are metallurgically bonded to the aluminium alloy core material.

AL2024 tubes/pipes are offered as part of our own branded (AVIATIONEU NEW ERA) product lines.Tubes are designed to act as structural support, whereas pipes are designed to carry liquids and gases. AL2024 tubing come in different shapes (round, square, orthogonal and others), tempers, dimensions and pre cut or cut to order lenght options with the ability to be heat treated for even higher strength, all at an affordable price. Our Aluminum alloy round tubes 2024 T3 temper are offered as drawn and are available in different outer diameters, wall thicknesses and pre cut lengths in inches. They meet AMS -4088, AMS -WW-T-700/3 and ASTM B210 specifications. For additional information, please refer to our Brief Guide on Aluminum Grades & Temper Designations or contact us.

AVIATIONEU NEW ERA 1020...

AISI/SAE(*) 1020 is a low hardness and tensile carbon steel alloy with Brinell hardness of 119 - 235 and tensile strength of 410 - 790 MPa with high machinability, high ductility, high strength, and good weldability by the most welding processes. Due to its low carbon content, it is resistant to induction hardening or flame hardening. As an alternative to increase its hardness, carburization or carbon nitriding can be applied. 1020 steel can be used for drilling, turning, milling and tapping operations using suitable feeds, tool type and speeds. This steel alloy is similar to 4130 (both iron alloys with 98% of their alloy composition in common) often used in structural applications. Please refer to the attached charts for the comparison of SAE-AISI 1020/4130 steel properties. For each property being compared, the top bar refers to 1020 and the bottom bar to 4130 steel.

SAE-AISI 1020 steel tubes are offered as part of our own branded (AVIATIONEU NEW ERA) product lines in different forms (cross sections), round, square, rectangular, etc. and dimensions to meet project requirements. Commonly used in the manufacturing of race cars and motorcycle frames. Round tubes are offered as DOM (Drawn Over a Mandrel), a process applied to tubing after it is initially constructed, allowing more exact dimensions relative to the inside and outside diameters, a smoother finish, and a better alignment of the crystal lattice structure. Although they are welded tubes, the weld line becomes nearly undetectable during the manufacturing process and they are often referred to as seamless. They are high strength and quality tubes sourced from quality producers, available in different outer diameters and wall thicknesses in inches and pre cut lengths in feet which can be cut to order to customer requirements. Appearing prices are per piece in indicated dimensions.
