ENGINE COMPONENTS (ECi)...

TITAN cylinder assemblies by Engine Components Inc. (ECi) include FAA-PMA replacement cylinders for Lycoming and TCM engines. They incorporate unprecedented design, metallurgical and manufacturing improvements over traditional cylinder design and come standard with "Diamond" features that are exclusive to ECi TITAN products.

ECi TITAN cylinders feature Nickel+Carbide bore, warranty guaranteed up to five years, a warranty against corrosion, Moly-filled top compression ring, Tru-Bore valve guides, and cast-in CHT Thermo-couple Probe Boss (O-200 style only, STD on others).

TEXTRON LYCOMING™ Aircraft...

Lycoming cylinder kits come complete with a nitrided steel barrel, a new aluminum alloy cylinder head, piston pins and plugs, intake and exhaust valves, chrome oil and compression rings, valve springs and seats, retaining keys, and all gaskets and seals. The cylinder barrels and heads are engineered for unsurpassed strength and performance. The nitriding process provides the cylinders with a thick armored protection that significantly outlives other hardening processes. Lycoming cylinder design dissipates heat quickly and evenly.

Lycoming cylinders come with a full two-year warranty against defects in material and workmanship – regardless of the number of hours flown.

TEXTRON LYCOMING Baffle...

This top quality TEXTRON LYCOMING Baffle Spring Compressor speeds up the removal & installation of cylinder baffle springs. It eliminates the danger of broken or bent cylinder fins caused by use of screwdrivers and punches. This tool is easy to use and features two pivot locations for parallel and angle valve cylinders.

TEXTRON LYCOMING™...

The TEXTRON LYCOMING™ non-certified engine solutions for experimental aircraft include their standard experimental engine models and their premium Thunderbolt product lines, the company’s brand of high performance, built-to-order powerplants for these aircraft. Both are non-TSO versions of genuine Lycoming engine modesl, factory built and tested. In addition,TEXTRON LYCOMING™ lineup of engine kits is also available assembled from 100% Lycoming parts and tested before delivery.

Instead of being made on an assembly line, each THUNDERBOLT™ engine is factory hand-built and further customized & personalized through the selection of several popular options of fuel systems, ignition systems, performance enhancements and finishing options. Also, most of THUNDERBOLT™ experimental engines contain performance-enhancing modifications such as high-compression pistons, cold-air induction, and electronic ignition designed to increase horsepower and flight efficiency. All engines feature a balanced rotating system within 0.5 gram (connecting rods, pistons, piston pins), ported and polished cylinders, and customized paint options.

The TEXTRON LYCOMING™ THUNDERBOLT™ engines are offered in Signature, Extreme or Competition series and cover the full spectrum of Lycoming familiar O-235, 320, 360, 390, 540 and 580 cubic inch models, although the IO-390 and IO-580 are the most popular.

Of the engines offered, all use parallel valve cylinders except the 390 and 580, which employ angle-valve cylinder heads. That makes them more efficient and powerful, but also heavier and more expensive.

235 and 320 Series include four-cylinder engines with models producing up to 125 hp at 2,800 rpm and 150 or 160 hp at 2,700 rpm respectively.

360 Series includes four-cylinder engines producing 145 to 210 hp. They are extremely popular due to their rugged reliability with smooth performance. Respective Lycoming’s 390 Series four-cylinder engines produce 210 hp at 2,700 RPM.

540 & 580 Series  are powerful and durable six-cylinder engines. Those in 540 Series produce 235 to 360 hp at up to 2,700 rpm with their counterparts in 580 Series producing 315 hp at 2,700 rpm with reliable direct drive and excellent power to weight ratio.
