Rivets & Rivet Tools

There are different types of rivets. Solid shank rivets are relatively low-cost,  permanently installed fasteners used as structural parts of aircraft applications where reliability and safety count. Such rivets are made in their majority from aluminum alloy and come with rounded (universal) or 100° countersunk heads Other rivet types include a) High-strength structural steel rivets and semi-tubular rivets (also known as tubular rivets) similar to solid rivets, except they have a partial hole (opposite the head) at the tip and b) Blind rivets available in flat head, countersunk head, and modified flush head which are used mainly when access to the joint is available from only one side.

This section includes a wide range of rivets, designed to meet different cost, accessibility, and strength requirements including aluminum alloy solid shank rivets, high-strength structural steel rivets, etc. together with related application tools. Such rivets are offered either as part of their producers' product lines or as part of our own branded (AVIATIONEU NEW ERA) product portfolio. AVIATIONEU NEW ERA are sourced from quality suppliers, manufactured in accordance with international standards and are intended for use in different industrial applications. For additional information please refer to the article on an overview of our fasteners, other supplied documentation, the individual product presentations or contact us.

MS20604 and MS20605 series both relate to non structural blind rivets with universal head (MS20604) or 100 Deg. flush head (MS20605).

MS20604 and MS20605 series blind rivets are superseded by those of NASM20604 and NASM20605 respectively.

Sourced from quality manufacturers, NASM20604/MS20604 and NASM20605/MS20605 blind rivets are offered as part of our own label (AVIATIONEU NEW ERA) product lines.

They are sold in packs of specified number of rivets per pack indicated after the letters "PK" in the product reference code (SKU).

Structural screws are made of alloy steel, are properly heat treated, and can be used as structural bolts. Those commonly used in aircraft applications are manufactured to aerospace/military standards/specifications. They are offered as part of our own branded (AVIATIONEU NEW ERA) product lines structured in different series based on the standard of their conformance. Some of the screws commonly used include NAS204 through NAS235 and AN509/AN525 series.

MS24694 Series structural screws have a 100° countersunk Phillips head. They replace the respective AN509 series structural screws of materials and finishes. Minimum tensile strength for steel is 125,000 psi. They are fabricated from alloy steel and cadmium plated per specification QQ-P-416A, Type II, Class 3 or 300 Series Stainless Steel unplated designated by the letters "S" and "C" respectively in the product part number after MS24694 and before the size number.

Sourced from quality suppliers, AVIATIONEU NEW ERA MS24694 series structural screws are offered in different thread sizes and lengths in inches and sold in pieces or packs of specified number of screws designated after the letters "PK" in the product reference number (SKU). For more information, please refer to the individual product presentations, the supplied documentation or contact us.

Countersinking is used to ensure that flat head screws or fasteners sit flush against the workpiece. Countersinks used in aerospace and industrial applications are made of durable materials such as High Speed Steel (HSS) known for its hardness, toughness, and ability to withstand high temperatures. High Speed Steel (HSS) countersinks are well suited for cutting aluminum sheet metals. When combined with Cobalt, an alloying agent in steels to improve the hardenability, strength, and wear resistance in machining applications but also due to its ability to resist wear at higher temperatures, the  respective countersinks are often used for cutting stainless steel and other aluminum alloys.

Sourced from quality suppliers, integral (fixed) pilot Microstop countersink cutters are offered as part of our own labeled (AVIATIONEU NEW ERA) product lines. Made from HSS or HSS Steel with Cobalt, they consist ideal tools for aircraft manufacturers, aircraft maintenance/ repair stations or  industrial manufacturers for precise and accurate countersinking, cost-effective alternatives to other OEM products and and stocked by our suppliers for fast deliveries.

Offered in different flutes, body and pilot diameters and sold  either separately (*) or in custom sets to address specific customer needs in machining applications.

Because of the difference in composition between HSS and Cobalt, main strengths of HSS countersinks are their high hardness and wear resistance. Therefore, as a general rule, they consist a better choice when you want your countersinks to retain their strength even when exposed to extreme wear or abuse. For higher hardenability, strength, and wear resistance and in applications when when countersinks are to be exposed to extremely high temperatures, cobalt countersinks should best be used.

AVIATIONEU NEW ERA countersinks can be used with popular adjustable or Microstop countersinking units utilizing a threaded shank drive (sold separately). For additional information please consult the supplied documentation or contact us.

(*) Minimum Order Quantities apply depending on the selected countersinks or their sets.

Solid shank rivets are relatively low-cost,  permanently installed fasteners used as structural parts in aircraft and other applications where reliability and safety consist a priority.  These rivets are produced in accordance with military and other international standards such as US Army-Navy (AN) standard and Mil-Spec (MS) that followed. AN426/MS20426 and AN470/MS20470 Series rivets are solid aluminum rivets with countersunk head or universal head respectively. Sourced from quality suppliers they are offered as part of our own labelled (AVIATIONEU NEW ERA) product lines. They are  available in different diameters and lengths and sold by the pound (lb). Those designated by the letter "A" in their part numbers are "soft" rivets fabricated from 1100-grade aluminum with a tensile strength of 16,000 PSI while rivets designated by the letters "AD" are fabricated from 2117 aluminum and heat treated to the T4 condition. They have a shear strength of 26,000 PSI and a tensile strength of 38,000 PSI. For additional information please refer to the article on an overview of our fasteners, other supplied documentation, the individual product presentations or contact us.

Blind rivets (also commonly referred to as POP Rivets) are mainly used in applications where there is no access to the rear (blind side) of the joint. Rivets have a two-piece construction, the rivet body, shell, or hat and the stem or mandrel. Both the hat and mandrel are pre-assembled and ready to use. Rivets are installed by using a riveting tool to draw the mandrel which causes the body to deform and clamp down on the joint. Upon reaching the designed clamping force, the mandrel snaps and is discarded. A benefit of blind rivets is that they are not material specific and therefore they can be used to combine two different material types together. Furthermore, there is no way to over or under-torque a rivet. If the appropriate diameter and grip range are chosen correctly, the rivet will be installed perfectly every time.

Sourced by quality suppliers, blind rivets, offered as part of our own labelled (AVIATIONEU NEW ERA) product lines, come in different materials, sizes, military or industrial standards and packing options to meet different application requirements. They are intended for use in a wide range of applications including  aircrafts, ships, submersibles, RVs, trailers,  machinery, small electronics, structural beams and others. Please refer to the individual product presentations to find the rivet which best suits your needs.
